I thought it was odd Briscoe didn't come out to save JetSpeed considering he was just out there seconds earlier talking trash to MJF....... I've been enjoying the shows a lot lately but I think the best thing is THE FEELING IS BACK(pretend there's a trademark symbol here)!!!!!! Another red hot crowd tonight!!! They even got into Bowens during the match!!! (I like Bowens but he hasn't gotten over with the new gimmick yet, crickets on the entrance) I didn't catch the show live but by 11:45 pm it was up on MAX without commercials. They're never typically that fast at cutting the show. Did the Bucks video lead into a break and return from one? Felt like a cut in the middle

I'm auto-in on anything Wright does, and I knew already that bleak and depressing isn't his brand. But, while clearly going to be way more faithful than the 87 book, we're still a long long way from the out of shape asthmatic protagonist and the movie looks like it has about 5,000 times more jokes than the book.

Be interesting to see which match goes on last. I think it depends on who's winning: AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Hangman Adam Page. Jon Moxley retaining and the Death Riders continuing will piss people off but the AEW World Championship nearly always headlines. That result won't send fans happy unless Sting/Darby Allin are brought back as a post match cameo to soften the blow. AEW Women's World Championship: Timeless Toni Storm (c) vs. Mercedes Mone is probably the biggest women's match in AEW history and you try and rewrite the stupid wrong of Timeless Toni Storm vs. Mariah May not headlining AEW Revolution 2025 as it deserved to. If Mercedes Mone wins, you don't send some/most (?) of the fanbase happy with her huge push, TBS Champion and undefeated in AEW. Winner Takes All: AEW Continental Championship Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. AEW International Champion Kenny Omega (c) V is a match Tony Khan has wanted in AEW. The quadrilogy is celebrated as some of the best wrestling matches of all time. However that was eight and seven years ago. Expectations are still high, could do with tempering. Kenny Omega will win. You have the most important secondary championship in the AEW International Championship, the AEW Continental Championship only two have ever held but you've got two more prestigious titles in the world championship above them. Sticking my neck out, I think Moxley/Page goes on last even if Mox wins but I wouldn't be surprised if it's Okada/Omega instead.

It was very odd to have TWO segments in the same show feature the "Is that all you've got?/I'm still standing/You'll have to kill me/I didn't hear no bell" with repeated beatdowns trope in one show, wasn't it? Don't get me wrong, Mox & Hangman's segment was really great, Jet Speed/Hurt Syndicate's not so much after having seen it previously in the same episode...

With the benefit of three weeks of hindsight and the apparent end of the coaching search, I think we can definitively say the answer to this was "yes.'

It'll always be Rayesh to me. I don't care if Denny got it wrong linguistically, he created the character so I stand by how he wanted it. Plus it sounds cooler.

July 2025 Pro Wrestling Talk
Cobra Commander replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
following post inspired by the "Diesel on his way out" video posted today: Vince's announcer approach to Diesel saying he'll only slap hands with his fans is some real "protest movement getting co-opted by entities that don't understand it" stuff.. they likely didn't mean for it to come off like that but was amazing also, the WWF product improved so much once Vince stopped doing commentary and turned heel.. even with the obvious parts that age poorly -
The Texas Death Match is one of if not the best stipulation match in AEW. Hangman Adam Page vs. Jon Moxley at AEW Revolution 2023 is the best Texas Death Match in AEW history. *****. We were still going to get Death Riders shenanigans whether it was a normal match or as it's going to be a Texas Death Match again at AEW All In. I just hope the Death Riders shit ends here.

Finished the final three episodes over the past two nights. Thought it was a good finale and good overall.

July 2025 Pro Wrestling Talk
Cobra Commander replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
having seen Bash 85 and Bash 86 this week, I'm pretty sure any complaints about modern refs trying to steal the attention just don't hold up to vaunted old refs because Tommy Young was chewing scenery out there (not even getting into other topics like Sonny Fargo's red pants or David Crockett in a golf outfit) then again, matches sans commentary means you start focusing on the mannerisms and how people look/act instead of commentary -
WWE TV - 6/30 - 7/13/2025 - Brons Over Baghdad
Eivion replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in WWE PROGRAMMING
Honestly as much as everyone thinks they purposefully counter-programmed it comes across more to me like they either had no idea about All In and gave up as soon as they realized, or they got too good a deal to pass up and said fuck it to NXT. Its not good either way. -
Lots of awesome action, especially the opener and main event. Loving the build for All In. Hurt Syndicate/Jetspeed had me thinking TNA Champ era Lashley vs. Speedball would've been an awesome match, would still like to see it in singles with Shelton/Knight happening next week. At the moment I'm still believing Hangman wins, and thinking the Bucks win with that stip so Swerve can't challenge Hangman and/or keeping Ospreay away from the title till All IN Wembley next year.

I've honestly wondered what you did for a living given all of the watching but didn't feel comfortable asking. The Keep on DVD was a gift for last Xmas and I still haven't gotten around to watching it, but I have seen it once on TV (strangely, because it was practically a lost film for decades) and was taken by the visuals and, well, it's a Mann movie.

W.O.W. - Women of Wrestling (New Incarnation)
DreamBroken replied to RIPPA's topic in FEDS JUST TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK
For me it airs at Midnight on Saturdays, so I'm usually watching a few days later on the DVR. Looking forward to the hardcore tag next week for sure, Miami Sweet Heat killed it in that environment in the past. the trios match was a blast. Sugar & Spice with Holidead was a lot of fun. Didn't expect the Albanian Grappler to beat Goldie so quickly. Pretty great 4 way main event. Figured Tormenta had gotten the least chances, Genesis never wins the big ones, and Paola wouldn't get a third shot so this makes sense. Loved the excellent finishing stretch with one big move after another. -
I fear that if Vince had ever seen DC's Cyborg in a movie or something and heard Zeke's first name he would try and pair the two Back to ICP, I read all the Wiki and boy that's a lot of stupid in one place. Then, I found the Squidbillies ICP episode just to watch their Gathering commercial. "AN ACTUAL MURDERER!" always makes me lose it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlO8GHVRLYg&ab_channel=JuggaloMedia "WRESTLING ON TACKS" also was so on-point as well haha

I absolutely 100% thought he was cashing in on Biggie's death from the very jump, and hated his music, hated Mase, hated his money worship, hated his name, hated his image, hated his personality. Phony fucking capitalist fuck. I frankly think he got Big killed and likely not unintentionally. Suge was probably gunning for him and he was a sacrifice. And of course, guess what happened? In this country, with what, six separate charges of what are IMO crimes against humanity stacked against him? He only eats TWO. Fuck him forever.

I didn't mind Hurt Syndicate squashing (after the match, at least), because they're so damn good at it. Taz pointing out that how rough that bodyslam was was really cool, for example. As long as you show that the opponents have heart (and JetSpeed are pretty big on that) it's alright. Knight was basically like "that hurt, but fuck you, thank you sir may I have another".

Fairly hot Hanger-Mox townhall to kick it off. I'm with whatever they wanna do, but 'Texas Death' rules is a questionable choice. I'll assume they have something up their sleeves. Claudio! Where was Ospreay to watch Hanger's back? Opps were a bit late to the call, but Page was happy for any help. Mina-Mone was fun. The post match attack was a little too predictable. Loved the MJF-Fox-Bowens-Brody 4 way. Brody did well with all he was given. I like the Briscoe-MJF direction - very strange to set-up a talk segment, but Mark continues to do very well with his live mic opportunities. Did not enjoy seeing Benjamin/Lashley squash their top challengers again. This is one of the worst builds to a match in AEW history. JetSpeed had built some nice momentum individually and as a team before these routine beatings. I suspect they could score an upset in the end, but somebody needs to want to see that first. Nonetheless, curious to see the Benjamin v Knight singles bout. Bucks/Takeshita-KOR/Strong/Bandido was tremendous fun. Everybody looked great in that match. I'm sold on the ROHPPV for Takeshita-Bandido. I love him like most love him, but Swerve's mic work is often shotty. He constantly sounds like he's forgotten what he wants to say. That said, he makes it all work. I like the 1 year no World Title shot stip - it's reasonable. Ospreay/Swerve-Beast/Dralistico was even more fun. Goddamn! Ibushi-Okada was fanfuckintastic. Nice pace and solid action. Hot Omega save to close. Thoroughly enjoyed the Wrestling on this show. 300! I've enjoyed the vast majority of them.
