Jiji
Good on him for stopping the hammer fist with only inches to spare. Fantastic performance.
Elsalvajeloco
I like Mutante and he is way better than he was at the beginning of his UFC career, but I don't like the Borrachinha fight for him. Cezar doesn't have enough firepower to keep him away.
Curt McGirt
Is anyone else laughing at this Albini guy's pants? They look like diapers and the more he sweats they look like he's pissing himself.

Elsalvajeloco
I'm not sure why you would roll up the board shorts if you're not going to throw kicks. I think that might be why Pat Barry use to do it when he was fighting. Otherwise, you probably should just get the vale tudo/compression ones. Jiji
Man, the heavyweight division is sad. I wonder if UFC could attract some legit heavyweight athletes if they didn't pay such ridiculously low purses.

Heavyweight boxing has dudes like Dominic Breazeale and other heavyweights who late starts who came from football. Hasn't really caused a resurgence in the division. I mean Jarrell Miller and Dillian Whyte are ex kickboxers and top 20 heavyweights. The pay ain't the issue.

Curt McGirt
Diego rushes in like Matt Brown slapped his mother but gets trucked... and a technical glitch screws it up. Jeez Now THAT was an elbow!

Curt McGirt
You gotta love how he facepalmed him to measure the elbow and then *crunk* Diego's on his face. And then aside from pointing to his elbow he sells a potential final fight like "ah well, we'll talk about it, gotta get to the showers"
Elsalvajeloco
I salute anyone who comes out to anything from the Black Caesar soundtrack. I'm surprised no one came out to Down and Out in New York City last week TBH.
Craig H
Aw man. What a fucking fight. Feel bad for Pettis with that finish.
Jiji
Anticlimactic end to an otherwise great fight. Poirier has grown into such a complete fighter. I like his odds against Alvarez or Gaethje.
Curt McGirt
That was fuckin great. Whatever happened to Pettis has to be nasty. Even nastier than the fight itself

Elsalvajeloco
Round 2 was fucking incredible. I'm surprised Keith Peterson did the cut check while Pettis was basically starting to secure a triangle choke on Poirier. But anyway, I guess we're off to the second part of this unofficial Lightweight contender tournament on 12/2.
Hail Sabin
Round 2 was INSANITY! I so look forward to Gaethje vs. Poirier.
Elsalvajeloco
Oh and as Oyaji mentioned, Felder did a very good job on commentary. Considering the Duke Roufus connection, he did a great job being unbiased in the main event.

TheVileOne
The FS1 analysts trashing Dustin Poirier's win sort of make me angry. They make it sound like Justin Gaethje is some great technical performer. Gaethje is a freaking brawler.
Jiji
Gaethje is a less athletic, sloppier, and more dinged up version of Poirier. He has heart and superhuman recovery abilities, I'll give him that. UFC's run of good shows will likely come to a screeching halt either next week or the week following. Not a whole lot of appealing fights from what I can see. Brooks/Lentz is hidden on the prelims for some reason next week. I am unfamiliar with 90% of the fighters on the Shanghai card. I hope I'm just ignint and there are some pleasantly surprising quality fights.
Elsalvajeloco
Sydney: Means vs. Muhammad, Brooks vs. Lentz, Shelton vs. Lausa, & Matthews vs. Velickovic Shanghai: Magomedsharipov vs. Sheymon Moraes and maybe Li vs. Ottow, Curran vs. Xiaonan plus Chase Sherman will probably do something insane. Sydney should be a very decent to good card. Shanghai...you probably should get some sleep and then tune into the main card and catch the fights I listed later if they aren't on the main card.
