man, that Hall-Mousasi KO is awesome.

 

but i couldn't vote against Holly Holm changing the Women's Bantamweight divison.

All of these are tremendous. I feel like Felder's KO of Castillo did a lot of damage to Felder long-term because it seems like he busts out spinning strikes way, way too frequently now. But gotdamn, can you blame him?! What a strike! Friere's KO of Weichel was insane because of the 180 it stamped on that fight. Friere was waist deep in shit when he caught Weichel. Almeida's was probably the best looking KO of the year. Hall hit an accomplished stand-up fighter with a spinning back kick to the head like something I've never seen before. The last two are two of the biggest stoppages in MMA history.

 

I'm going to think about it for a bit. Leaning towards Almeida's knee.

It's tough to choose between the McGregor and Holm knockouts.  Honestly, I had to go with McGregor since it was in 13 seconds, and I just couldn't fathom that happening at all.

Definitely a tough category. Pitbull and Almeida's KOs were awesome out of nowhere moments that I loved. Holm and McGregor's were both such shockers. Great knockouts last year for sure. Leaning towards Almeida as well at the moment.

Leaning toward McGregor as it was just so unexpected. Holm was unexpected until we saw the first round and Rousey was just asking for it and she got it. 

 

Memo: When facing a striker with a boxing background it is a bad idea to stand directly in front of them, really, really bad idea.

This is the toughest award to pick so far, it’s making a choice between two historic MMA finishes, Holm vs. Rousey and McGregor vs. Aldo. Shame one has to lose out. In the end I went for Conor in a heavily hyped fight knocking Jose Aldo out whose last loss was way back in 2005 in 13 seconds, the fastest finish ever in a UFC Championship fight.

 

Honourable mentions to the Hall-Mousasi and Almeida-Pickett KO's.
