Curt McGirt Posted January 4 Share Posted January 4 Nakajima/Dempsey was a blast! REALLY REALLY fucking good. I think the only faults were 1. Nakajima can be as leg-slappy as anyone domestic 2. He no-sold a very nasty German, and 3. There were two Dempsey pinfalls that looked like an utter lock, and it seemed as if the ref was waiting just one beat longer for Nakajima to kick out. Everything else was tight as two welded plates of steel, and as stiff. The headlock work, the elaborate carny pins, the spinning Cattle Mutilation, the reverse dragon screw (?!?!), all of Dempsey's stuff was amazing. He is a pinnacle of generational talent. The extra cool thing, thinking about it, is there has to be talk among all the locker rooms in the country about "the match in Japan with Regal's kid" with wrestlers sitting around a computer monitor or on their phones watching it. I haven't watched Osaka Pro since I was in high school during the Super Delfin days so I wasn't sure what to expect. Good match! Not great I'd say due to spotty selling but Matsufusa is the never say die young guy and Billy Ken Kid just wants him to stay down. I'm going to watch the rest of the show on the bus tomorrow. Ashton lost a casket match last year to Malek's stable leader Nightmare Jeremiah. Malek Ode is a newer local guy. This is his 3rd match as Malek.
