dragonzombie Posted January 2, 2023 Share Posted January 2, 2023 Few days ago IGF and Ganryujima teamed up to produce INOKI BOM-BA-YE 2022. Former K-1 producer Sadaharu Tanikawa served as the producer. RIZIN CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara was the card's "supervisor." Naoya Ogawa is the GM. Ganryujima rules matches for MMA have that no cage, no ropes ring style and moat. IGF added the poles. There are some differences as in what fighters can't do in that ring when matchmaking under Ganryujima rules, so restrictions on the floor, maybe DQ out of bounds. There were other types of combat sports matches on the card, Kickboxing and regular MMA. There were no traditional Pro Wrestling matches on the card like the old first IGF used to book. The UWF rules which main evented the show had the special no head strikes rules and used an NJPW ref in ring with Tanahashi on commentary. He left with those guys. Suzuki is bit of a face with the handshakes. They announced the dates for 4 big shows: Tokyo Ota Ward General Gymnasium March 21 and June 17 Tokyo National Yoyogi Stadium Second Gymnasium Friday, Sept 8th and Dec 31 Shotaro Ashino returns on jan 22nd. Kaz is challenging for the Junior title next. Wada refused to count for Kono. Spoiler And T.Nomura beat Kono with the sleeperhold. The president of AJPW may be able to reject Electric Current Bombing match, doesn't matter because Onita does what he wants to do. Anyway they're treating AJP 2023 as new AJPW. dragonzombie Posted January 3, 2023 Share Posted January 3, 2023 ÀJPW Onita wants to break AJP's no Deathmatch traditions. Onita's Deathmatches are less like modern BJW and more FMW kinda. Shouldn't have to worry about getting scars too much. There been some ideological breaks in the past, those few different style fights, the gimmicks matches in the Mutoh era, the deathmatch done before and more. They were simply on handshake deals, and Bushiroad doesn't want another JONAH or Karl Anderson situation to happen. Lot of stuff happened at this years NYD. The info is in the WK 17 thread. NJPW vs NOAH again. I think they should steal the defunct Survivor Series match type WWE used to do.
