twiztor
this is kind of a lowkey good card. i don't know if i'll catch it live, but will likely check it out this weekend.
DreamBroken
Nice didn't realize Erin Blanchfield was debuting here. Misses my prediction for her to win the Invicta title first but Invicta's been slacking on having shows this year so far it seems in comparison to last year. Apparently, Invicta is working on a TV deal per Meltzer so that might be why.

Wish Jung had finished but once he hit that second takedown you knew it was over so why bother risking an exchange. Impa looked good at 170. Glad to see he got a bounce back win coming off that hl reel loss.

Either he is going to win in impressive fashion or he's going to lose in emphatic fashion. Kasanganay is way more well rounded and a heck of an athlete.

Elsalvajeloco
So yeah, Mackenzie Dern is absurd on the ground.
Elsalvajeloco
That's likely it for Sam Alvey in the UFC. Poor guy didn't want to tap with his job on the line and went to sleep.

Elsalvajeloco
DC and Cruz brought up some interesting points and bits of knowledge regarding takedown defense. Thing is a guy like Ngannou, once he learns the right ways to stop takedowns, has a much wider base and perhaps stronger hips to aid the improvement of technique. A slender guy like Kevin Holland is likely going to continue to struggle because his natural inclination is just to stand up as tall as he can and as be rigid as possible. Guys don't even have to be clever to take him down. Just get in on his knees.
AxB
I think Mike Perry should probably retire. Like, he seems a bit less articulate in his speech than he was two years ago (and he wasn't exactly a rocket scientist then), and all he does in his fights is get punched really hard in the face all he time. Like, he seems a bit less articulate in his speech than he was two years ago (and he wasn't exactly a rocket scientist then), and all he does in his fights is get punched really hard in the face all he time. He's been trying to fight smarter, but it's so hard and too late for him to change his stripes. Matter of fact, he was going against another guy who is Mike Perry-esque in Daniel Rodriguez. And what's ironic about that is he's a Joe Schilling coached fighter and you could hear Joe tell Daniel not to get too overly aggressive because he was absolutely pummeling Mike Perry in the face. When JOE SCHILLING of all people knows more about when and when not to go balls to the wall and try to get folks out of there than you, you probably need to seriously reevaluate what you're doing with your career. Based on what I saw from Perry's response on social media, I think he knows that physically he's pretty much done for. However, he just had a kid. From what it sounds like in his response, it doesn't sound like he's too financially stable. He's going to have to continue fighting. And if UFC cuts him, he's probably going to wind up in one of these Bareknuckle boxing leagues because they will take anyone and he has sorta of a name. Worst case scenario, he ends up on a Triller card and they put him up against a real life boxer so he can get his doors blown off. Unfortunately, that's the life cycle of a fighter like this. He came around years ago when they were looking for more guys in a Chris Leben, Matt Brown, or Chris Lytle type mold. Eventually those guys either age out of the UFC or they get sent packing harshly out of the organization. Since UFC brings in more and more new talent, chances are they're going to find a guy like that who has a little bit more upside than the previous guy in that role. Daniel Rodriguez may not be the next guy in that role, but yesterday, he proved Mike Perry's days in that role are long gone. On the very same card, we got likely the last UFC fight for Sam Alvey. Once you're no longer able to be a roleplayer and win enough to justify having you around (like once every three fights), that's going to be it for you.
