Elsalvajeloco Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 As much as I hate Amanda Ribas cause she is easily the most likeable person on the UFC roster, it seemed like Dern needed the win the most and definitely fought with a sense of urgency. 1
Execproducer Posted January 16 Posted January 16 They could have started the New Year by being a little more generous with the bonuses. Some quality finishes on this show.
twiztor Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) got some time off work next week, hoping to finally watch the Rizin NYE show. Edited January 16 by twiztor

Pays to have a sub on standby just incase. Shame Gaethje wasn't on the show and how last minute the change was. What an opportunity for Moicano against the P4P #1. 1
jaedmc Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Feel for Tsarukyan. Lightweight is a tough division to get a title shot, but unless you're Conor McGreggor - no one's spot in line gets held for them. Might end up having to face Justin Gaethje for another opportunity. Moicano stepping in feels like we're getting a Tony Ferguson/Khabib consolation prize. Even though everything about this screams Islam dominance, it feels like a very dangerous fight. Moicano has nothing to lose here and that's a scary Moicano. And they may say it's "1 day notice", but this dude is still physically peaking right now. He was prepped for a very tough fight against Dariush. He's not coming off the couch. It's compelling stuff. Still wouldn't bet against Islam though. No idea how the Merab vs. Umar fight goes. Can Merab pressure this guy like he does everyone else? I can't imagine so. So then what?

A.M.B. Posted January 19 Posted January 19 That Rinya Nakamura fight was painful to watch. Dude didn’t want to wrestle at all, only did it reactively to his opponents entanglements, and handedly lost a fight he could have won. Cornerwork was bad too. I already thought the odds were pretty silly on that one, but damn the dude had way too much pride on the feet.
jaedmc Posted January 19 Posted January 19 This crowd is dying for one of these wrestlers/grapplers to get knocked out, and it's just not happening. I'm sure they're going to love Jailton Almeida. I don't know where Kevin Holland expects to go at Middleweight. He just can't compete with those heavier grapplers.

The Natural Posted January 19 Posted January 19 (edited) Merab Dvalishvili cardio is really something. Edited January 19 by The Natural
Lawful Metal Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Holy shit that interview with Umar was hilarious I’ve never heard anyone more exhausted fuck Umar I want Merab Pantoja for the never ending cardio match make them go 7 rounds
waffle Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Merab now holds the record for most takedowns in UFC history as well. 1
Lawful Metal Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Still waiting for Islam to have a real title defense besides Poirer
The Natural Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Islam Makhachev becomes the first to defend the UFC Lightweight Championship four times in a row, he was tied on 3. Islam Makhachev has won 15 fights in a row, he's one behind Anderson Silva for the longest win streak in UFC history.
jaedmc Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Well that was really kind of Islam to give Moicano a couple minutes of standup for shits and giggles.

I thought Alexander Volkanovski beat Islam Makhachev in their first fight but I was fading while watching it live.
