From minutes ago at Ice Ribbon's Korakuen...

Spoiler

Yuki Mashiro did indeed beat Tsukasa Fujimoto in Tsukka's last match before hiatus, and then Tsukka got on the microphone and said she's going to punch Giulia tomorrow with five years' worth of feelings.

I guess it's happening, everyone!

This doesn't really need a spoiler.

Manami Katsu is returning from... retirement? Inactivity? Anyway, she's joining Ice Ribbon officially, and her first match back will be in Yokohama on September 23.

She had a child two years ago, probably doing similar to what Fujimoto may do as she took a couple years off and maybe is now ready to come back to a full or part time schedule. I know she wrestled in June but not sure if that was her only date the last two years.

I believe you're right! Ice Ribbon's a good fit for that since it's a roster full of moms. The dojo's gonna need a day care wing.

Ice Ribbon's Korakuen just wrapped up.

Spoiler

YuuRI successfully retained the Infinity title in her first defense against Tsukina Umino. Her next defense will take place at Ice Ribbon's next Korakuen show, as Yuki Mashiro will be her challenger. Mashiro (partnered with Maya Yukihi and Totoro Satsuki) preemptively announced her challenge after pinning Tsukasa Fujimoto (partnered with Kirari Wakana and Yoshiko Hasegawa) in a trios match earlier in the card. This eerily lines up with YuuRI's last reign, as YuuRI faced Ibuki Hoshi in her second defense, and Ibuki challenged after beating Tsukka in a trios match in Rifu. That worked out well for Ibuki, and Mashiro is looking to recreate that same magic.

Mukomako (Hamuko Hoshi & Makoto) were able to get their first successful defense in their latest International Ribbon Tag Title Reign, as they beat Unagi Sayaka and Mio Shirai, with Makoto rolling up Mio with a Gannosuke Clutch for the win. Mio has gotten into costume theft, and she was wearing one of Unagi's costumes for this match. No word on the next challenging team for them, although Tsukina Umino and Nanae Furukawa have been a noisy if ineffective team recently.

Nanami's Triangle Ribbon reign ends after a little less than two weeks, when Kyuuri pinned Saran to claim the belt. Saran didn't get her wish for an all high schooler bout, and also didn't fulfill her hopes to be the Triangle Ribbon Champion either. Kyuuri had help from her Cheerbell partner, Mifu Ashida, who gave Kyuuri a cold spray from under the ring. Kyuuri used it to blind Nanami, then pin Saran.

Lots of new costumes today. Grizzly Fujitaki had a new costume and a bear entrance mask. Mifu Ashida, Yappy, and Tsukina Umino also all had new costumes.

Hate that Tam won, personally (pun slightly intended) - feels egregious, not quite CenaWinsLOL but getting up there. To go 0-6 and then miraculously able to go nearly 30 minutes and beat the supposed top heel in the company is just...ugh.

Tora is dead in the water. Whatever you think of her, any credibility she had or could have had is evaporated and they will have a hell of a job getting anyone to take her seriously again.

On top of which, Maika is basically in a no-win situation now. Either she beats a 1-legged Tam Nakano, which carries much less weight than it should, or she just steamrollered the 5* (including Mayu) to end up with nothing.

It really feels like they flubbed the landing, to me anyway. I saw someone on twitter say this is 1 giant exercise to give Maika the 5* win she should've had last year without her holding the belt at the same time, and I can see it.

Whole thing feels rushed, Tora and Hate are basically DOA, really disappointing. Shame because the tournament had a lot of bright spots and some of the midcarders took big steps forward.

Other spoiler notes from Stardom Namba Grand Fight

Spoiler

Aya Sakura pinned Rina during the match between Cosmic Angels and H.A.T.E., so expect a title match at one of the next New Blood shows.

Syuri seems to have challenged both Thekla and Momo Watanabe to face her and Saki Kashima, while also saying she was going to go after Konami as well.

After Natsupoi defeated Hazuki, Thekla came out. She whispered something in Poi's ear, raised her arm, and gave her a H.A.T.E. towel.

After Tam Nakano defeated Maika, Tam challenged Suzu Suzuki.

Mifu Ashida's partnership with Kyuuri has led to some bad influences, like an increase in cheating during her matches. The two were in a Triangle match with Mio Shirai today, and Mifu kept deferring to Kyuuri about how to cheat more. Mio managed to overcome it and knock Kyuuri out, but Mifu shoved Mio out of the way and stole the pin for herself. Mifu said she was excited to get her first triangle win, and challenged Kyuuri for the Triangle Ribbon title.

Yuki Mashiro has suffered an injury of some kind to her right leg (I've seen both muscle tear and dislocation used as the reason). She was scheduled to team with Saran against YuuRI and Hamuko Hoshi in the main event on Monday's Ice Ribbon show, but she'll be replaced by Yumi Ohka. Ice Ribbon did not say if her Infinity title challenge against YuuRI is being cancelled, and she wrestled today (albeit a ten second surprise win against Tsukina Umino), so it may just be a move to rest her. Ice Ribbon is notoriously careful when it comes to injuries, so we'll have to wait and see what comes of this.

The rest of Monday's lineup looks really solid. Yappy and Ancham, who have taken to calling their team BAD BUTTS, go against Tsukina Umino and Grizzly Fujitaki in the opener, followed by Mifu Ashida against Yuko Sakurai. Manami Katsu's return match is on third, teaming with Makoto against Mio Shirai and Totoro Satsuki. The semifinal sees Kirari Wakana and Arisa Shinose have a rematch from Kirari's debut. Ever since losing to the rookie, Arisa has been more motivated than ever, even taking to teaming occasionally with her rival Saran and bullying Banako and Yuzuki from Hot Shushu. She's also been taken under Misa Kagura's wing, as the two regularly team now.

TJPW Wrestle Princess V Spoilers

Spoiler

Xia Shao (fka Xia Li)  looked dominant in her tag match with Mizuki against Yuki Kamifuku & VENY. After the match, Shao challenged Kamiyu for her titles.

Yuki Arai retained her title against Moko Miyamoto

12000000 (Maki Itoh & Miyu Yamashita) defeated Daisy Monkey (Arisu Endo & Suzume) for the Tag Team Championship. Maki wrestled with a broken hand. Maki has also said that if they do not have 10 successful defenses, the team will disband.

Miu Watanabe retained the Princess of Princess championship by defeating Ryo Mizunami.

Shoko Nakajima vs. Emi Sakura and the main event are must-see matches.

AJW 80s question. Was there any explanation given why Dump in her matches can just do anything she wants, along with her minions? I am not complaining because Dump is just the greatest. But just wondering why she never took a DQ in what I have seen even if she’s blasting someone with a kendo stick as the ref watches.

Shiro Abe was a heel ref, and he had most of Dump's matches.

Okay...

1. Maika is having too much fun with this Toni stuff. This is like the Japanese version of Footloose. Also, what is this dance she's doing? It's like someone's drunk aunt dancing at a cookout. Ok, since it's some unknown hoochie mama dance, I am going dub it the "The Hoochie Maika". It's going take the world by storm!

2. Question: Did Maika dislocate her elbow or tear a bicep and never tell Stardom? She's being wearing that arm wrap for over two years now. She might as get the giant Psycho Sid body glove elbow pad at this point.
