SirFozzie
Following up on the Rubiales forced kiss situation.... The Spanish FA has asked UEFA to suspend or expel them. No, not because they think their President was wrong, because of "Illegal Government Intervention in the Spanish FA". UEFA already has rejected the request This was never going to happen, because A) All the leaders have done so far is called for Rubiales to resign/be removed, and B ) Because this is definitely not the hill they want to fight "Government Intervention" on (when they've already provisionally suspended him for 90 days), and C ) This would have the knock on effect of removing all spanish teams from the Champions League, Europa League and Euro Conference League. Honestly, if I was Barca/Real, I'd be a bit pissed that this jackass is putting tens of millions of dollars at risk with this stunt.

Messi's people asked them to switch but got told to fuck off. Atlanta will be the first turf game he'd play in (if he plays), and that's not until mid-September. SirFozzie
Speaking of Brentford, they had to rely on a time limit draw with Bournemouth to retain the Lineal. You have to think Newcastle takes it off them in two weeks.... (checks Brighton-Newcastle score) Um.. maybe the Honk-o-Brentford meter still has some life left in it? DangerMark
By the time Brentford play Newcastle, they will have a Top 20 length reign, calculated by number of days; at which point only two teams will have held the belt longer with fewer defences; West Ham in 1994 (V03, 116 days) and Newcastle in 1996 (V03, 122 days)
