  1. I didn't think of the UK guys until late, and the ones I got were dudes I saw on lists at Wrestling KO and in Dean's Youtubes Thread. Really dig Robbie Dynamite though. Oh, I think Dynamite is great, it's probably just a testament to how good BritWres is nowadays that I'd say there were so many guys that were at least as good. Not complaining, by the by, with the number of wrestlers you have to filter down, it's cool that Deano and Dynamite both got it
  2. I'm so going to get hammered in the prediction league. Glad to see some BritWres guys get in, though there are at least 10 UK guys who had a better year than Allmark and Dynamite. Going to find it hard to pick some of these
  3. With the Warrior DVD, will all the featured wrestlers get royalty payments? Just because I love the idea of a job guy like Brian Costello randomly getting a chunk of cash through for his job match 25 years ago
  4. I'm not convinced he had a match for them, but he did show up as an associate of Ron Killings for a week or so
  5. I've been to three TNA house shows and each one has been great, because, as stated, you don't get any of the bad angles you get on TV, just a bunch of decent matches given decent time. The show in Nottingham 2 years ago was headlined by Roode, Bully and Angle vs Hogan, Sting and Storm. Hogan wasn't advertised to be wrestling, so I couldn't believe what I was seeing. That, plus a great 3-way with Aries, Alex Shelley and Mark Haskins made it the best wrestling show I'd been to at that time.
  6. Taking us full circle, isn't that the film with the Jeff Jarrett cameo midway through?
  7. Though I can see how Dave Mastiff does look a bit like a giant baby, it's something I can overlook as he squashes the shit out of guys with sentons and awesome cannonballs in the corner. Plus he's got a grizzly man beard now to make him look even more like a beast.
  8. That WCW merch catalogue is amazing. To the vast majority of the public, who would have no idea he was a wrestler, that Saturn t-shirt would look absolutely mental.
  9. Titus yelling "let's talk about it now" when cowering on the floor from Young's assault was great
  10. Yeah, it surely HAS to be Heyman first. As stated previously, he was the architect of ECW, he's still in with the WWE (which gives him the edge over the Dudley's and "who the fuck hired" Raven) plus he has a history before ECW of being a terrific manager and part of one of the best eras of WCW with the Dangerous Alliance.
  11. The Grudges, Gripes and Grunts video featured a thoroughly decent Bret Hart/Randy Savage vs Ric Flair/Shawn Michaels match
  12. Been watching an All Star Wrestling fancam from 2001, which really shows how far BritWres has come in the last ten years. Nowadays, you get the likes of Doug Williams, Marty Scurll, Rampage Brown and Dean Allmark putting on good matches. Here, the best match by some distance was Chad Collyer vs Jonny Storm (which was worked like a decent TV match, really fun bout) and most of the rest was a load of chaff. A tag team tables match pitting James Mason and the Legend of Doom(!) vs The Hollywood Blonde(!) and Bad Brad the Nasty Boy(!!!) is decent, despite Bad Brad being utterly inept. PN News takes on the Cuban Assassin in a dull match and Marty Jannetty took on something called Tortoru in an absolute atrocity of a match. The show ends with the MC announcing that the audience can have a photo taken with Cuban Assassin in the ring for £5 whilst our cameraman zooms right in on his manager's arse.
  13. Alpha Female is awesome, but also makes Tapa even more pointless.
  14. Didn't repeat your heroics against Arsenal last season, but still pleased with my team last night. Think 4-0 flattered them a bit, we were in the ascendancy in the second half, but the big difference is they could bring Cazorla and Giroud off the bench (both of whom scored in the dying minutes), whilst our squad is so tiny we had to bring on our reserve right back up front towards the end. Massive respect to the Arsenal fans for applauding the fan protests last night. Unlikely we'll return to Coventry this season, but the media focus will do the Keep Cov In Cov movement no harm.
  15. In a few months, Spud is surely going to start an X Division title reign as an HTM-esque cowardly little shit, and it'll be the best thing in TNA history.
  16. I'd love the WWE to pick up Eric Young. Guy is one of the better workers in TNA, manages to remain over no matter how badly booked, charismatic as Hell...plus his TV fishing show gives him some mainstream cred that the WWE loves. EY is awesome.
  17. I'm currently renting the 4 disk Jeff Jarrett collection TNA put out a few years back, and it's really frustrating. Jarrett looks great in almost all matches, bumping and stooping for guys who can't go any more (like 2002 Scott Hall) and working well with younger guys like Styles, Brown and a really green Chris Harris. But the endings...fucks sake. Add a few proper endings, with no overbooked nonsense, and it'd be a great collection. The interviews with JJ are really interesting, I should add
  18. Wish I could find the full match of this, but could only find this brief music video. Basically, it was announced in advance as Dustin Rhodes vs Christopher Daniels, but they both "caught food poisoning" on the day of the show, so this was the replacement match...
  19. While I've always believed the pile driver mainly affects the neck, it would also hurt your head as a point of impact. The pain in your neck would be more severe, but I suspect that headbutting someone afterwards would let you know your head was hurting pretty badly too.
  20. Rene Dupree vs PN News. The commentary is awesome here, German with random bits of English thrown in - "he's shaking his thing"
  21. We take care of our own (Except DJ Gabriel, we left him to dance his way to nowhere)
  22. As much as we all know the Miz as the most unlikable face in the company, Woods must be a close second. Every time I see him, he comes across as a massive bellend. I'm not sure what the general consensus on them is, but I love Los Matadores. Every match they're in is just fun, way more entertaining than being talented-but-generic Epico and Primo.
  23. The best thing about the spear outside the ring on Sheamus is how swiftly Lillian had to move to avoid getting plastered by the barricade.
  24. In terms of catchphrases, "I'm afraid I've got some BAD NEWS" is going to get chanted along with within a month
  25. http://youtu.be/L2h8JGLfDO4 This is one of the most C show matches I can imagine. God bless Disorderly Conduct. Also, the MonsoonClassic YouTube channel is absolute gold.
