Yeah, I mean... it's one thing to debate/discuss/whatever the basic concept of a spanking. It's another to try and do so for the beating of a 4 year old with a switch badly enough that he still has ugly, ugly stripes on his legs in pictures reportedly taken a week after the beating took place. God, that's just... ugh.

I haven't seen the movie, I need to say that upfront. But, I'm sorry, but I can't take the concept of "evil mirror" seriously. THROW IT AWAY. Done and done.

I went and saw Guardians again tonight. It's still fantastic. But I do think the shiny newness of it is overwhelming common sense here, for it to be beating the best superhero movie ever made...

I like Road to Perdition a lot. Hell, it's worth watching solely for it being Conrad Hall's last film, and his amazing (Oscar-winning) work shooting it. It's has an amazing supporting performance from Paul Newman, maybe his last truly great performance. Tom Hanks is fantastic against type. It's a good, strong take on Lone Wolf and Cub as a 30's mob film.... There is no way in hell it should be beating Ghost World.

There are only three movies in the whole tournament I am 100% sure are better than MotP. But, hey, we have things that aren't feature films instead.

So, btw, The Offspring playing Smash all the way through? Fucking awesome. Seeing Bad Religion live on the 20th anniversary of the release of Stranger than Fiction? Also fucking awesome. Rise Against live? Really fucking great.

Send me the blu ray, I'll watch it ASAP. You know, I really should upgrade from DVD to blu-ray one of these days...
