RonL21
I was thinking about the this the other day when I was watching ATL. Antwone Fisher hit a home run when his autobiographical script got turned into movie. ATL was really a horribly written movie, but the actors actually put on pretty good performances given the material they were given. Big Boi from OutKast steals every last scene he is in. RandomAct
Not a movie, but the BBC Merlin series came immediately to mind. The writing was god awful for much of it, but the acting was so good and charming, it compelled me to stay with it and felt very satisfied for it. If t.v. shows count, THAT 70'S SHOW was the very definition of this. Horrible bland joke writing, but the actors were so charismatic and having so much fun that I could watch and enjoy anyway. AND THE BEAT GOES ON!
Daniel Day-Lewis in Gangs of New York. I would happily watch it right now for him, but the plot is a load of shit and the acting bar him is horrible

LethalStriker
There is a script for Lost in Translation? Isn't it just Sofia telling Bill and ScarJo each to randomly stare at each other for 30 seconds blink then repeat staring?
Casey
Hey, man, I know what it's like to be alone when you're surrounded by millions! I GET THAT FILM! It speaks to me. It says... Reed is wrong.

Cristobal
Blah blah if you don't have the patience for Lost In Translation I don't have the patience to explain it to you.
LethalStriker
Generally when a movie is considered great you tend to want to watch it again, I can't imagine anyone ever seeing that movie and saying "can't wait to see that again".
Casey
I've watched that movie, no lie, about 13 times.
Brian Fowler
I've seen it twice, and about an hour ago I was double checking to make sure it was still on Netflix, because this conversation has me wanting to watch it again.

Reed
I like how we knew Scarlett's character was so deep and artistic because she was always telling us how deep and artistic she was. Also, staring at stuff blankly all the time.
