I watched the promo vid, I think Doctor.Doom a.k.a Reed Richards gives Peter the Spider or maybe Iron Lad does. We can skip the retelling the teen parts of Peter this time around and just get to the adulting right away.

The black costume and 2099 and Ben's Spider-Man 90 suits were shown. So they're 6160 Peter's other suits.

Agreed. The aforementioned video:

TAFKA D.Z/赤い竜.

Please could you sum what happened in Ultimate Invasion again as I didn't read it? Thanks, man. I'll probably get the Ultimate Universe one-shot in November. I'll definitely buy Ultimate Spider-Man in January.

Well how about the summaries of each Issue from Marvel Wiki instead https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Ultimate_Invasion_Vol_1_1

And the world map

https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth-6160

ULTIMATE INVASION TREASURY EDITION Paperback is coming out next year, for people who missed out. I'm not sure they will add more to the tpb.

The Ultimate Invasion collection seems to have been downsized to just a regular TPB. It's still weird that it's not coming out to March when 2-3 months after publishing is usually the norm for Marvel collections. With the first issues of the new Ultimate books landing in January, you would think they would be rushing to get it out. Plus the current listing doesn't have it including Ultimate Universe #1.

Do wonder if Hickman potentially convinces Marvel to do linewide collections like they did with the X-Line.

i just read Avengers #197-200. this is the storyljne where Ms. Marvel gives birth to a baby boy who, it turns out, sexually assaulted/raped her and is his own father.

what the actual fuck, 1980 Marvel?

Chris Claremont hated the story. I don't think the story was ever fully retconned out.  David Michelinie had a different early story but it was rejected. Jim Shooter regretted publishing the actual finished story.

Just another one of the reasons to prefer alternative universes and new universes is stories like that aren't universally in the other world's continuities.

i find it kind of odd that David Michelinie is rarely mentioned as a prolific comic book writer. I wouldn't say he's an all-time great or anything, but he had a long run on Iron Man (most notably "Demon in a Bottle" was his. He introduced Jim Rhodes and Justin Hammer). He had a stint on Avengers (including this storyline, but he also co-created the Scott Lang Ant-Man as well as Taskmaster), another long run on Amazing Spider-Man (second only to Stan Lee! he co-created Venom and Carnage). over with the Distinguished Competition, he wrote the Aquaman story where Black Manta killed Arthur Jr., and co-created Madame Xanadu.

this quick recap reads a lot like he wrote a lot of shock stories, possibly akin to Mark Millar? but while reading the books i don't really get that impression (Avengers 200 notwithstanding). I just rarely see his name mentioned alongside other longtime successful writers.

Some speculated Marvel will spin off things related to Avengers: Twilight like they did for the new Ultimate Universe.

If it's 2050, that year isn't that far off compared to the year of 2099. The year should be easier with allegories for the writers to write about, and more relatable to the reader.

2099 is alright but it never had much staying power, only exception is Spider-Man 2099 of course, whose reality and timeline is always being rebooted or created anew multiple times.

The Marvel World of Tomorrow is what 2099 was originally going to be called under one series, and Stan Lee and John Byrne were working on the project. Then the project was retooled into Marvel 2093, same year as the Iron Man from 2093.

Then the concept became 2099.

John Byrne took the very original aborted approach and concept and retooled it into 2112, published under Dark Horse.

The tagline for Avengers: Twilight, is "A new vision of Marvel's Tomorrow", sorta paraphrasing "The Marvel World of Tomorrow"

I remember reading a few of the 2099's (Spiderman, X-men) and while Spidey was good, the XMen one was a complete mess. It felt like a limited series that got stretched way too thin.

I've read most of David Micheline and Roger Stern celebrated stories on TASM but that's about it. Micheline has The Wedding and Venom. Stern The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man in my top five Spider-Man stories of all time and Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut.

I didn’t know which thread to put this in, but whatever. I realize nobody but me will likely care, but the Amalgam event in the 90s got me into comics (along with the X-Men and Sensational Spider-Man) and I’m so giddy that I just got the complete run of all 24 of the one-shot #1s, the initial four crossover Versus books, and the later All Access/Unlimited Access books for a little above $100. They’re all super fucking minty, too.

Ultimate Universe sets up the world some more

Spoiler

They free Thor as shown in the preview.

The Tony team quietly invades Latervia. They want the tubes with heroes gimmicks and items in them. They contain 100's of possible origin powerings.

Captain "Britain" sneaks up from behind and then loses his right eye because of Iron Lad.

Iron Lad and his unnamed team escape, with only one of the tubes, but Ultimate Hulk and the Illuminati use one of the Stane/Stark satellites lazor to take out part of Manhattan. Iron Lad seems to have teleported out many.

Iron Lad gets framed for the attack by the illuminati. Many are missing. Norman Osborn and Aunt May may be "dead".

Glimpse of Black Panther on the news.

The map of the world has changed. The NAU (Canada, U.S.A. and Mexico of our world) is no more and is redistributed.

Backup of The Ultimate X-Men. I thought it was cute. It's quite Japanese style pf course.

I have the flu and I'm tired. So I left out some stuff.

I think Earth 6160 is RPG like world.  And unlike 616 and more like post Pitt New Universe and post Ultimatum 1610, your actions effect the world around you.
