  1. I personally am greatly enjoying the current product, in large part because it feels totally different then any past period of the WWE. While I did not watch it live, two of my favorite periods of wrestling are early-mid 1992 WCW and early-mid 1994 WCW. My favorite WWE period is 1992-1994, with Bret rising to the top of the card and becoming the biggest star in the company. Guys like Punk and Bryan are modern day versions of Bret and Shawn, and The Shield are the greatest WCW tag team ever. Dolph is sort of a Stunning Steve Austin/Brian Pillman hybrid. The Rhodes Family are the Rhodes Family, with Cody looking like he is finally putting it all together now. Big Show is slowly winning me over in this angle, and it would have worked that much more if he did not have a heel turn for the exact same reason last summer. Also, I watch MNF and Raw every week. In 2013, the magic of DVR should allow you to do both.
  2. I am someone that would seriously contemplate not watching if guys like Bryan and Punk were not at the top of the card. The last few months have renewed my interest for a good while, assuming that Bryan remains at the top of the card and Punk eventually gets his rematch and win over Brock.
  3. I will take credit for the Billy Robinson matches in the bottom 10. Did not get into his matches at all, and while I will admit that he has technical skills, he was a heat vacuum for me. I really enjoyed the Martel-Rheingans match and ranked it 35th.
  4. The Rhodes Family-Shield match was awesome, definitely one of the best matches of the year and easily the match of the night. Bryan-Orton really picked up towards the end, and honestly a non-finish here makes sense with Hell in a Cell coming up. Bryan has come out fine is all of this, and should go over at HIAC. I would argue this angle has actually hurt Orton, as Bryan has won cleanly at the last PPV and had a visual fall on him last night before the interference. Assuming Orton jobs at HIAC, Bryan will have absolutely dominated him in this feud. I'd rather Bryan look better, but in Orton's case, this feud could have gone a whole lot better if he held the title for a few months before Bryan eventually dethroned him. Bray-Kofi was shockingly pretty good, and Bray was able to successfully work with Kofi when the pace really picked up. Even with the creepiness factor involved, I think the Wyatts will actually work better as faces, as the crowd wants to cheer them and a lot of their moves would go over well as face finishers/signature moves. If Rhodes Family does not win the tag titles over The Shield, I want the Wyatts-Shield to be the next major tag team feud. Punk-Ryback was okay, but Ryback has struggled in longer matches outside of the Bryan ones. I figure Punk goes over big in Hell in a Cell rematch before the Brock feud resumes at some point (A punk team vs. Heyman family match works as a traditional Survivor Series match).
  5. The Shield can turn on HHH and stay heel pretty easily.I don't think that's true at all, but even if it were: why? How many full-time main event level heels are there outside of Orton? I hope the cuurent main angle remains hot when Sheamus returns, as he would be a natural to turn heel and join HHH's group. Although damn, that would temporarily rule out Jae's new APA. Of course, Sheamus and Barrett could be the corporate version of the APA.
  6. Sheamus dropping the goofy and forming an ass-kicking team with Barrett would be amazing. Could go either face/heel depending on current dynamic (now would probably be face with Shield and Wyatts as top heel teams), and both guys characters badly need to be freshened up. I think Barrett could be a good addition to The Authority, but I salivate at the potential of Jae's idea here.
  7. Just watched the Taker match posted in the other thread and that was really damn good. Amazing pace for two big guys, and just a really fun ten minute match. I think that a lot of mid to late 2000's WWE will hold up well over time, and fans will gain a greater appreciation for the work as it is remembered more then the inconsistent angles.
  8. I was 12 and just a year into following wrestling, but damn if I did not think Glacier was going to be a major star. Besides all of the hype videos, the presence and some of the moves stood out from the rest of the roster. Nowadays he would have been shit upon mercifully, but that gimmick seemed so cool to a 12 year old.
  9. I got to think that Regal one will be an uncensored interview. That, or it is taking it weeks to make it PG rated.

  11. Washington's D likely lets them down at some point in the playoffs, but damn they are fun to watch. This type of game will be a welcome respite compared to the Hawks new clutch and grab, no skill division.
  12. As much as it begrudges me to admit this, Sir Alex managed his ass off last year as that was a not title winning type of squad that he managed to last year's league title. Add losing his brilliance to a poor summer and a new manager adjusting to coaching a power and you get a United squad that has a real chance to finish outside the Top 4. If Chelsea had kept Lukaku and employed him as their main center forward, I think run away with title. Instead, that loan to Everton gaffe brings a few more teams into the title mix: Tottenham if that talent meshes, Arsenal if they are incredibly luck with injuries, and City if the guys consistently play to their to potential.
  13. I expected a lot more out of St. Louis this year. They are a young and talented team that went 4-1-1 in football best's division last year and added some nice pieces in the offseason (Cook, drafting Austin). Too early to totally count them out this year, and NFC looks significantly weaker then expected, but this a team that looks to be among the most disappointing so far.
  14. The only thing I fast forward through are Diva matches (and not as much recently with AJ as champ). However, there are matches and segments I will give my undivided attention to and the ones where I be checking things out on my laptop or phone. I'll always pay attention to Daniel Bryan, Shield, and CM Punk stuff, and lately anything involving the Corporation. Also, if you pay close enough attention, you'll see just how damn good the Usos are in tag matches (and I hope they are a team long enough to get the belts).

  17. WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WHERE WERE YOU WHEN YOU WERE SHIT? WHEEEEEEERE WERE YOU WHEN YOUUUUU WERE SHIIIIIIT? (Not at the arena, obviously) Spending money in Chicago and making sure it didn't go bankrupt.
  18. I believe that Evan Silva suggested this on Twitter, but the Niners should offer the Browns a first round for Josh Gordon. That passing game badly needs a vertical threat, and the Browns might as well tank properly (and a winning team is better off gambling on Gordon staying out of trouble). Now, the whole Aldon Smith situation may make the Niners skittish about taking a risk on Gordon, but a dangerous vertical receiver transforms that team from 10-6ish to Super Bowl contender.
  19. The Blackhawks rule (as does hockey). CM Punk rules. Chicago rules. That is all.
  20. Love the current Bears brain trust, and they have done a good job of rejuvenating a team that had two offensive pieces and an aging defense when they got there. The defense will be a gradual and slow rebuild, but now they have a built a solid enough offense to at least remain respectable while the D is rebuilt.
  21. And Forte had one above average season before being franchised. I am surprised that he mostly kept up his strong play since getting paid, but again do not blame the Bears for making Forte prove it. He proved it in 2011, and got paid afterward.
  22. I take it you only like the prove-it franchise tag when the Lions did it with Cliff Avril. Melton only had 1-2 good years before being franchised, and was mediocre this year before the injury (he had the worst defensive grade on the Bears last night).
  23. City whoops United in the morning, Bears beat the Steelers at night. A great day of football of all kinds. And man is Pete right about Kompany, as the team has looked like world beaters with him and a mid-table squad without him. Still a good idea to buy a center back in January as depth, as I am not buying Lescott, Dimichelis, and Javi Garcia as proper cover there.
