So Bellator is bringing back the women at 145 lbs. But no Gina Carano...for now ;) .

I mean, good for the gals having a place to fight on a big show, but how many decent female 145 lb'ers are out there?  Just saying, Strikeforce was often scraping the bottom of the barrel toward the end to look for opponents to get crushed by Cyborg.

It's a dire situation either way, but I dunno why you would leave Invicta at this point. Yeah there is a chance to be on TV, but how much traction do you expect them to get out of you with possibly one show a month? You think Julia Budd is really going to be stringing together some key wins on TV? Fuck no. If I was someone like Veronica Rothenhausler, there is no fucking way I would go to Strikeforce when I know I am the only decent prospect in a shitty division. Even if they DID sign Gina, it's going to be Marloes Coenen playing the Jessica Aguilar role. Gina Carano isn't fighting twice a year. There is very little purpose to this move by Bellator.

You would think that at first, but she still got submitted by Miesha. I don't see how Rousey vs. Coenen ends with anything other than Coenen getting murderballed. Her athleticism has betrayed her in all her losses. Yeah, that's going to be a tremendous obstacle to overcome against the best athlete in female MMA.

Went to my first MMA show in several years last night.  It was a King of the Cage show at the Coeur d'Alene Casino in Worley, ID.  Had close seats - like 6th row - but one of the posts for the cage was RIGHT IN MY FRICKING SIGHTLINE so my view was blocked frequently.  Thank goodness for TV screens in the venue.  This will be on Mav TV in a few weeks, so avert your eyes if you care about results.  Good show, had a lot of fun.

1) Tyler Popkin d Jesse Jacobson, 2:59 1st (sub strikes) - poor Jesse couldn't hang on for just 1 more second... (3 minute rounds)

2) Cory Bussey d Cameron Johnson (decision)

3) Elijah Ross d Grant Schwallie (decision)

4) Allan Nicolausen d Brent McNeil, 1:41 1st (rear naked choke)

5) Jeff Pool d Charlie Exkano, 2:04 1st (TKO)

6) Zane Douglas d ???, 2:06 1st (guillotine choke) - damn, didn't write down opponent

7) Brandon Sly d Solomon Jones, 1:10 1st (guillotine choke)

8) Jordan Currie d Justin Davis, 2:25 1st (D'arce choke)

9) Adam Smith d Chris Ensley, 1:02 1st (D'arce choke)

10) Daniel Swain d Mike Joy, 1:07 1st (TKO)

11) Trevor Prangley d Jared Torgeson, 1:07 1st (TKO) - KOTC Jr Heavyweight title defense for Prangley.  Watch the DirecTV broadcast for this one.  Big-time KO!

As I said, good show.  Nearly half the guys were from Prangley's gym.  Good crowd, probably 2500 present, near-sellout, if not full-sellout.  It's an hour away from Spokane, so I probably won't go back too often but it was a good time!

Daniel Swain is a fun fighter. Enjoyed his 2 Pancrase fights and was pumped when he was rumored for one of the past TUF casts, but was bummed when I heard he didn't make the show.

I also have no idea why every time I hear Trevor Prangley, I remember that one Strikeforce 1 night 4 man MW tournament Jorge Santiago won.

On the Bellator-Carano tip: Gina wants to fight at 135 and Bellator doesn't have a 135 pound division. That's from Coker himself. Cyborg is still under contract with Invicta so it's basically Marloes Coenen and whoever they can dig up to lose to her.

Coker also said Kimbo is not interested in returning to MMA.
