Three losses in a row for Hester. That's a shame because he showed a ton of promise on TUF. The problems are still the same though. He's a good athlete with good power, but none of the instincts you would want a fighter to have. For example, tonight, Pezao got Hester on the ground and Hester's first thought is to survive. He didn't do anything to try to get up or stop Pezao to from obtaining mount. Just not a good sign.

Anyway, a solid win for Pezao.

Very good fight between Dominique Steele and Danny Roberts. Steele surprised me. He managed to keep Roberts off balance for most of the fight and probably should've got the decision.

Whittaker is a good fighter, but he needs to learn how to stay back sometimes. He leaves too many opportunities open. That makes it way easier to get caught in exchanges.

Yeah, Barboza may very well be the best fighter in the UFC who will never get a title shot.  He's so vicious with his strikes, but he's a lightweight and his wrestling just isn't good enough to win enough fights in a row to get a shot at the belt.

I don't even think Barboza's wrestling is bad. It's just that he gets caught sometimes, which ultimately leads to probably getting submitted. He fights in a "kill or get killed" type of way.

I called Barboza winning exactly as he did tonight.  Pettis did exactly what you don't want to do in fighting Barboza.  When you give Barboza time to settle in and find his rhythm timing and distance that's where he does his best.  Pettis played right into his game.

Pettis just looks sloppy and slow lately.  He had some footwork tonight but his timing was terrible. It looks like he's waiting for all his opponents to give him an opening.  But instead he waits while they establish their game and score points on him.  Next thing you know he's lost the fight.  You can't wait and feel out your opponent in a three round 15 minute fight.  That's how you lose in a points game.  Pettis has to start mixing it up and waiting for his opponent to give him that perfect opening.

OSP is fighting like a guy who wants to lose a decision.  Jon Jones' biggest talent is the ability to get his opponents to stand around and not do much.  Those oblique kicks and the constant stiff arming, seem to take everyone out of their game.
