Nah. Young sticks around. He's been on tv pretty much non-stop for the past 3-4 years with limited purpose and direction.  I don't think anyone can come up with a good reason why. Someone behind the scenes must be a fan.

My favorite DYoung moment was the time on Smackdown when he sat in on commentary before his big match against The Real Deal. JBL buried him.

I wonder if there would be any sort of media backlash if they cut Young or let his contract expire. He's a marginal talent who probably hit his ceiling already. That said as the first openly gay wrestler on the roster he made quite a splash in the media when he came out. There would probably be at least one article bringing up the possibility that he was fired because he was gay.

Obviously the hope is that he is treated equally with his straight counterparts, even in negative things like being let go.

Wikipedia says: WWE, Observer and NY, still not sure what the 4th is, unless Cauliflower Alley membership counts?

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Iowa. There's the George Tragos/Lou Thesz wing in that HoF for pro wrestlers and MMA fighters.

Who did he have to blow to....wait, is that joke less funny if we know he's gay?

Demolition should go in and I'd assume if they did it would be as a trio even though Adams was only in there briefly.

Luger seems like a worthy candidate based on his accomplishments, plus a positive recovery makes for a good story with everything he's been through in recent years.

When Young heals up they should reunite the PTPs as they're a case of the sum being better than the parts.  Titus has a lot of charisma but I really don't see him as a big guy midcarder that other guys go over on their way up the ladder.

I would like everyone's thoughts:

Darren Young should be inducted into the WWE HOF for being the first openly gay wrestler in WWE. Goldust, Rico, Adonis, and Billy  & Chuck are all gimmicks of the past that will not see any reincarnations because of Young. After Young came out, people wanted to see what WWE would do with him (give him some OTT stereotype gay gimmick etc.). WWE did nothing silly and it was business as usual. Compare that to the treatment of Kanyon during his infamous Boy George segment and of course  the Oklahoma-twanged lead announcer would frequently sneak in heavy innuendos referencing Patterson’s sexuality.

Paterson was never officially outed as a gay man on-screen. Kanyon, Orlando Jordan, and The Brawler were never outed on-screen in WWE. Young is the first. I believe that Young, in his own small way, has changed the portrayal of homosexuals in WWE going forward as there will no longer be any showcases of “gay equals bad”. The public relations hit WWE would suffer would be major if they decide to revert back to post Young days. I think this is HOF worthy.

Brawler is married to a woman. Patterson was in a relationship with somebody else who died in the mid-2000s.

Where did the whole Brawler/Patterson rumor come from? Seems like an odd thing to just make up.
