  1. I've enjoyed most of Sasha's main roster work so far. Her and Becky may have been more off than usual, but their TLC preshow match a few weeks ago was very good. I thought it was cool they at least tried giving them 15 minutes considering their last Raw match was under 5. Elsewhere in her main roster run so far, I really dug a couple matches Sasha had with Paige in July-Sept, some of Paige's better stuff this year as well. Also while Sasha doesn't have a definitive direction currently, they have for the most part protected her from taking many losses. Roman's improv was good last night. The reactions to Vince's arrest and Steph's wailing, the microphone, the 'selective hearing' crack when the crowd was chanting about not hearing Vince--all very funny. Agreed, thought he came off very well in there with Vince.
  2. Liked the main event a lot, almost thought for a bit that Cena was gonna win the title back there. Cool to see Sasha/Becky get some time as well.
  3. WWE.com's annual Top 25 MOTYCs are in
  4. History made as Swagger finally defeats Rusev!! Very surprised to see that, especially by tapout. Cool to see Swagger finally get that win, even if it won't mean anything in the long term but a fitting show for it.
  5. Great stuff! Read some of it before, never heard about wanting to bring back Billy Gunn vs Cody & Ted.. would've loved that. Always hated that Holly never came back for revenge after Cody turned on him
  6. One of my fav events, Bash 88. Love that opening tag and the main event with the pops for the almost wins for the faces in both matches.
  7. Jeez everyone I thought would win or wanted to win on this show lost. Thought Randa would at least pull off the decision in the end.
  8. Asuka/Emma was amazing. Thought Emma looked fantastic throughout and Asuka was just perfect all the way. Great false finishes with the heels almost cheating their way to victory, loved it and an excellent finish calling back to the last nxt show. Great stuff from both. Asuka's offense continues to be killer, loved the three big hip attacks and Emma got in good stuff too. Asuka is the best and most enjoyable wrestler to watch in the company right now imo. Nia Jax tapping out was lame as hell and killed her off early as a real threat. Hated that whole sequence, get put in a choke while ON the ropes so climb down and run to the center of the ring rather than just.. stay and grab on to the ropes. I liked Corbin/Crews. Always liked Corbin and have been enjoying Crews more lately, especially here, good finish. Really dug Joe/Balor, thought that was a pretty great war of a match. Both guys dished out everything and in the end it felt like Balor really earned the win. Good stuff and I enjoy Balor as champ but I do think Joe would've been a good choice to dethrone him. Pretty good show overall, with Asuka/Emma being the easy match of the night for me and one of my top favorites of the year.
  9. Vince is the man. Everything felt immediately more important with him on the show. Great main event with great false finishes. Reigns throwing Supermans all over the place fighting off four guys. The final Brogue was a great near fall. Cool moment for Reigns, I thought the pop in the end was tremendous and it felt like a big moment. First WWE title change on Raw in 5 years. I wish Vince was around more than once a year. ECW/Wyatts was much better than last night and more on par with what I hoped for from them. Crowd brawling and the Dreamer Driver off the stage through tables ruled. Still was holding out hope that the lights would go out at some point so Sabu or the Sandman could appear. Nice to see Rowan get the nod in the end after being the guy getting beat all the time. I guess this is it for team ECW. Dreamer had tweeted prior to the show that he was done with TV and would only be working house shows from now thru January but I'd prefer they keep 'em. Good Raw for sure. Guessing like most that Brock wins the Rumble, but I still wanna see Reigns vs HHH.
  10. Alberto/Swagger was pretty good, would've been cool to finally have Swagger go over for once but pretty good finish. Very disappointed by the ECW match. Should've been an old school ECW style brawl with fighting through the crowd and all over the place, all sorts of interference, lights going out, more weapons. Of course they only tease us with the flaming tables finish. Hoped the ECW guys would do better than only getting one elimination. The attempted double turn with Charlotte/Paige hasn't worked very well. I like Charlotte better as a face and Paige never really did anything to turn yet again. Crowd was dead with no one to cheer for there. Main event was pretty good and I liked that the crowd finally got in to it for Reigns last climb, too bad he didn't win it. Post match was great and finally felt like something important happened on the show. Crowd finally got behind Roman in the end. In addition to the Cena/Punk/Bryan/NXT chants mentioned, there was also a "We Miss Rollins" chant. Definitely figure Reigns/HHH is a Mania match rather than the Rumble since HHH usually works Mania not the Rumble but I guess they could do it either way. Overall felt like mostly a nothing show until the post match closing angle. Also stood out that Ambrose was the only babyface win of the entire night.
  11. Very enjoyable card all the way through top to bottom. Felt bad for Emily Kagan losing after a strong first round. Lots of solid finishes throughout the prelims. Absolutely loved the main event. Even though it was one-sided, I was on the edge of my seat for every near submission. It was like Paige was kicking out of all of Rose's finishers, first the jumping rear naked choke that finished Kagan at Invicta 4 and then the armbar. Awesome heart shown by Paige to keep escaping and keep on going all that time after being bloodied badly early on. I was hoping it would go the distance at that point but a great finish for Rose nonetheless. Rose looked excellent dominating the fight. Very fun fight to watch. Good show.
  12. Last week was kind of disappointing that they ran through all the round 1 matches in the round of 16 in a rush. Good to see this week all the matches got some time. They changed the brackets back to reflect what was originally taped, screwing up their bracket contest on the website since I guess they originally planned to make a slight change on the India taping that got canceled. Dug the finishing stretch in the EC3/Davey main event tonight. Two lower guys that I thought were impressive in this series were Eli Drake and Jessie Godderz, both had some real good heel promo work throughout. Overall it's been a pretty enjoyable couple months of just 'straightforward matches' shows
  13. The rest of the Invicta 15 card looks pretty good. Lacey Schuckman vs Mizuki Inoue, Amanda Bell vs. Ediane Gomes, Shannon Sinn vs. Christine Stanley, and Megan Anderson vs. Amber Leibrock. Also Colleen Schneider replaces Irene Aldana against Raquel Pa'aluhi. Invicta 16 set for March 11 in Las Vegas, to feature a flyweight tournament.
  14. a former ECW Champ to combat Strowman? Squashing the Ascension on the house shows this past weekend, could be time for a turn.
  15. Ivelisse Velez said last year that she was originally planned to portray Sister Abigail with the Wyatts and that they filmed promos for it a week or two before she got released. To be fair, while Bray won the last match with Ambrose, Ambrose spent the whole fued pretty much kicking the shit out of Bray. Not just the last match, but almost all of the matches. Survivor Series Bray won by DQ, TLC Bray wins, Street Fight the week after TLC Bray wins again, blowoff Ambulance match Bray wins again.
  16. Shannon Knapp says Cyborg dropping weight is off the table for now since a Rousey/Holm rematch shelves the possibility of Rousey/Cyborg, so she's staying at 145 to defend her Invicta title in her next fight.
  17. Wished she would have had a longer career, great in a short amount of time. Changing the minus to the plus forever.
  18. Loved the surprise Tommy Dreamer appearance. Best part of the show for me. Hope they get another ECW guy for an 8 man hardcore war at TLC. Originally wanted the Dudleyz in the tag title mix for a multi-team ladder match but digging the Dudleyz/Wyatts feud more now. Lot of short matches before the main event. the Charlotte stuff was odd but enjoyed Sasha/Brie while it lasted.
  19. He was on Bellator a few weeks back to announce Shamrock/Gracie and said that he hopes an Angle/Shamrock fight does happen sometime.
  20. He did, right before he agreed to work the India tour even though his contract would be up by then. the UK tour yeah, they are billing it as the Kurt Angle Retirement Tour.
  21. Owens on commentary during the main was the best.
  22. I die a little inside every time I hear them overdub The Chase when the Midnight Express comes out. That's actually the one dub I'm okay with. There's more than one show the Express literally walk in time with to the point if you didn't know better, you'd never know the difference. Not to mention the Chase usually built up to a major time change that more often than not never happened anyway. Not me man. I grew up listening to the MX coming out to The Chase or the almost too close for comfort knock-off they used so the new music is just too weird for me. The knock-off they replaced The Chase with in I wanna say 1988 or 89 actually did get up to the time change. Always loved that version
