  1. Well Barney is supposed to be in his mid-30's so it would stand to reason that his mom is in her late 50's/early 60's. The actress who plays his mom is 60.
  2. Hey don't knock the Rev Devon gimmick. I thought it was a great gimmick and his theme music was awesome. "He's callin my name!"
  3. Some highlights from JR's latest blog post Is Randy Orton a fan favorite or a villain? One can't be both, as a rule....but, of course, I'm out of touch with today's product. I think that I may have missed the class on the invisible line between good and evil. In real life that may be true but last I looked pro wrestling on TV isn't real life. Congrats to Big E Langston for becoming the IC Champion. I wish Big E nothing but success. The former Iowa Hawkeye Defensive Tackle is a beast of an athlete with great integrity. One can't get too many like him in any locker room. I got to know "E" well in NXT. Fans have loved him there for a long time at Full Sail Arena. Hopefully many of today's impatient fans will allow Big E to continue to evolve as he's not even close to reaching his potential. Thought the Big Show vs. Ryback match was surprisingly good. By the time this match had ended, I had seen enough clotheslines during the first three matches to last me the balance of the three hours that I stayed tuned. If the Real Americans can get on a true roll, they would help WWE overall and the tag team scene in general. Miz is a better TV wrestling villain than a hero. Ziggler vs. Sandow in their Broadway Brawl turned into anything but and was essentially a comedy segment based on the soundtrack. Great seeing Xavier Woods get a shot on RAW. Another really high quality student athlete who's close to getting his PHD. Really an engaging young man to be around with tons of charisma. I'm hopeful that his tenure will be productive in WWE as he is a great representative for the company on many fronts. It's admirable that Woods has continued his education the past few years while still competing and attempting to earn a roster spot in WWE while residing in NXT. Dr. Woods is a great promo talent if allowed to use large aspects of himself in his TV persona. Many unique personas got quality exposure in the final several minutes of RAW. It will be interesting to see of the newer guys in the 12 man tag who breaks from the pack and makes their mark in WWE main events. It's obvious that Daniel Bryan and CM Punk are 'over' and could be even more viable and productive quite easily. Good to see Rey Mysterio back and hopefully healthy or at least healthy enough to be able to be himself and perform to the level that his fans expect. WWE can really use Rey's star power and name identity. Hard to believe that this was the final RAW prior to the Survivor Series and that another WWE PPV comes our way this Sunday from Boston. Impressed with the WWE HOF panel that will be a part of the Survivor Series and hope that they are allowed the freedom to express themselves. If they are, then Mick Foley, Booker T and Bret hart could be awfully entertaining and informative. Hopefully WWE will trust these men's instincts and allow them to freelance while traveling the same direction. Remember this....talents in pro wresting cannot get 'over' unless they get on a roll and are then involved in an ongoing, personal issue in a competitive environment.
  4. Wait, what? I thought that was the Isotoner Gloves guy. Mind=blown.
  5. Watch his knee you idiots! Watch the cables, watch the cables guys!
  6. And they also threw a little of the Road to Woodbury in there as well.
  7. I would be as annoyed with those pointless montages as you are, if I wasn't watching SOA this season. At least Robert Kirkman's wife isn't singing in every episode.
  8. Daryl would be like Sting. You wouldn't know what side he was truly on for a while then he joins the face team and delivers a righteous whoopin to Merle/Clay. This of course culminates him showing up out of shape for the final episode, getting the shit kicked out of him for 55 minutes of the show, winning when Clay pays the showrunner to write Daryl's victory coming when he trips over a walker while stomping Daryl and knocks himself out. Daryl celebrates for half of the next episode before Clay and Merle reunite and beat the shit out of him. Clay and Merle then split with Rick joining Merle for no explained reason and Clay brings in his useless cronies Filthy Phil and Juice. And yes, I am having a very slow morning at work.
  9. If Kurt Sutter wrote TWD, there'd be a lot more rape.
  10. Nah, remember: he was blinded at Woodbury by Michonne, and was rocking the eye patch last night. Hey look, here are EVEN MORE NEW CHARACTERS FOR YOU TO NOT CARE ABOUT! Someone on Twitter said something about "Tara" last night, and I thought there was a Sons of Anarchy crossover because I had no earthly idea who Tara was. They're cycling characters in and out so quick that even the staff of 24 thinks they're doing too much. I'd watch a show that consisted of Chibbs, Tig, Ratboy and Happy battling zombies.
  11. I just want gorilla presses to come back. Always a cool spot when a face just presses the heel over his head a bunch of times and slams him. Big E already has the muscle head splash so he needs to add Warrior's gorilla press. And not a specific move per se, but I just want tag-team finishers to come back. It makes the team feel more like a team. Off the top of my head, The Matadores are the only team with a tandem finisher. Reigns and Rollins had a thing where Reigns would torture rack a guy and Rollins would come off the top with a knee but they usually just finish with Reigns' spear or Rollins' knee/curbstomp.
  12. On Austin's podcast, Pritchard said something to the effect that Rock would stick to the agreed upon talking points/lines while Trips would ad lib and try to get himself over at Rock's expense.
  13. Mark Madden on the Aries/Angle match last night.
  14. The Duchess of Queensbury rules match? Yeah, that one was ok. I recall that one was set-up by Y2J pissing in Regal's tea.
  15. What's Christoff GoodGuy/Charlie Protagonist doing in the Impact Zone?
  16. Has there been a good "change the stipulations on the fly" match since Austin/Foley at Over the Edge?
  17. Who says they gotta show the tree? Just make a big deal out of the story. My point is, he offers more than most of the other midcard drek out there. He's got the two strikes but if he you give him a shot at a spot currently held by one of the guys I mentioned before and he fails, what have you really lost? If he does well, there's a good backstory to play up and the guy is an above average worker.
  18. Masters vs. The Tree He Pulled Out Of The Ground to Rescue His Mom. Vince should've signed him just b/c of that. I know the guy has two strikes but he got a lot better during his last go round and you can't buy a better face story than that. They always talk about wanting larger than life guys. Well the guy pulled up a fucking tree to save his mom from a burning house! Sure he's got two strikes but you can't tell me guys like Justin Gabriel, JTG, Zack Ryder, etc are doing anything he can't.
  19. There weren't many guys that they could just slot in. Most of the obvious candidates wouldn't have worked for one reason or another and no one had the star power to not make the mystery partner a disappointment. Savio made some sense from a storyline perspective as Los Boricuas had previously had dealings with DX. Kane was supposedly considered, but they decided they needed to protect him. Don Callis (Cyrus/Jackyl) has said Kurrgan was the original plan, but he (Callis) talked Vince out of it. At that point, Kurrgan was planned to be pushed as a monster later down the line and Callis argued that Kurrgan would badly exposed in the match, Jim Cornette has said that he (and Lawler, irrc) suggested using Vega under a ninja mask as a mysterious hired assassin,. Supposedly, Vince crapped on this idea because Al Snow had recently flopped badly in the Shinobi gimmick. Were there any rumors of Yokozuna coming back to do it? He's the only big name free-agent I can remember not doing anything at that point. He probably couldn't have gotten cleared to do it but would've been a cool one shot for him.
  20. They gave money to a guy who once crashed a wedding reception with a zombie and gave the bride a cobra and another guy who used to routinely spray paint people after giving them savage beatings and once used a cattle prod on another wrestler.
  21. Pretty sad if this is true. I also have to question the sanity of anyone sending their rent money to a pro wrestler. http://www.tpww.net/2013/11/exclusive-ddpjake-robertsscott-hall-screw-over-fans/
  22. Only thing I could dig up on the Net, courtesy of Wikipedia
  23. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I thought she would turn the gun on herself or start firing wildly, hitting one of the SAMCRO guys or Jax and further complicating their plans (they're already a man down due to Happy being with the Chinese).
  24. Here's one of me from Halloween from a couple of years ago. I was El Guapo, Strohs Drinking Champion of the World And one I got with Gerald Brisco at the NWA Legends of Wrestling event in 2010
