  1. IMDB informs me that Andre the Giant, Pat "Bomber" Roach and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) all share the same birthday (today, 19th May). I really want to see that trios team (with Mayhew wearing the suit).
  2. Miro posted a laughing emoji in response to Punk's comments on the Naomi/Sasha thing. People will read that different ways but I took it to mean that he thought Punk was full of shit to be pushing a "solidarity with workers" angle given the way Punk has talked about him and Lana in the past. You know Punk tells this story to show how we was trying to help a new guy but I'm guessing "that fucking Rusev guy" and "fucking scared of me" didn't win him a ton of goodwill. Punk also publicly mocked the Bobby Lashley/Rusev angle when he was doing commentary on WWE Backstage and said that "the loser should have to keep Lana". That led to some spat with Lana on Twitter (probably staged) but he basically continued to shit over the angle. Which isn't exactly showing support for colleagues who are doing the best with the material they are given. Although I'm guessing he thinks they should have stood up for themselves more.
  3. Yes! I have a CD of "Reaped in Half" somewhere and I totally see the comparison. This is probably one for the music thread now though. Glad you dig.
  4. The singer of the Portland "street doom" band R.I.P cut a version of the "Hard Times" promo today on Instagram and it's amazing. Schtick aside, metal fans on the board should check out their new album "Dead End" (FFO Sabbath, Priest, Celtic Frost). Its really good.
  5. Not strictly a wrestling shirt but this is a killer CZARFACE shirt, designed by Tony Atlas of all people. https://www.czarface.com/collections/tees/products/tony-atlas-x-czarface
  6. Zack started his Jersey bro gimmick on The Dirt Sheet (which along with Santino's Casa was the main outlet 10 years ago for undercard dudes to goof around for their own amusement and in many cases, come up with better stuff than was being written for them). The whole gag was that it came out of nowhere and that "woo woo woo" would be the gimmick to get him and Hawkins over. Hawkins as the baffled straight guy to this is gold. Zack was never as OTT on TV as he was on the web shows. I always assumed it was that the writers told him to tone it down. But he had plenty of potential as a delusional goofy heel and as a comedy face, they never made the most of him.
  7. I lead a quiet life. Three people throwing cups is pretty crazy to me.
  8. "If X wins we riot" is always over-dramatised, but I can see a lot of people throwing stuff if Dash gets pinned.
  9. The guy who emigrated to the US and learned another language to become a pro wrestler? And who has got over repeatedly despite the evil foreign heel gimmick having a pretty short shelf life? Yeah he doesn't seem capable of doing anything without having his hand held ? Some info on his pre-WWE days here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rusev_(wrestler)
  10. I've been looking for a gif of this move for years. Success! Albert had an insane moveset back then. This, the TKO and the Baldo Bomb could all have been super murder death kill finishers. Sadly he only ever won on Heat. This move got dropped when Taker started using the Last Ride. And no, I am not totally obsessed with Albert. Much.
  11. This is a mixed bag so far. There's been a fair few characters who feel hokey or not exactly TV-ready. The Coffey's are decent heels and I dislike Wolfgang for reasons I can't exactly explain, so they make a decent faction. Thought James Drake seemed better than in the UK tournament. The main event between Dunne and Burch was good stuff. Weirdly enough the thing that made the biggest impression on me so far was the Jinny promo. That looked great. Loved the 'Vogue'-esque graphics. Compare that to most depictions of "fashionable" women throughout wrestling history.
  12. I was just coming in here to comment on that (just saw the photos over on WWE.com). That could be a great match if given the time and it actually meant something.
  13. I wouldn't say this an all time classic or anything, but Mustafa Ali has been quietly becoming a pretty good promo. I dug the vibe of this a lot.
  14. Oddly enough the only ones with the plain logo seem to be in the UK. If the shipping isn't too extortionate there are a bunch of colours here (and a vest!) https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F152061270637
