  1. Don't forget his picture showing up in that Booker T/Jeff Jarrett Russo-booked match with the coal miner's glove.
  2. Looks like a pretty solid mid-range 90s title, story wise. The "Titan City" gimmick looks clever. Shame about the covers.
  3. I can't remember if he was stiff all the time in the ring but he did smash Stevie Richards in the face and break his nose with his Polish Hammer. Early Chris Masters couldn't even work the "stand on the apron" part of a tag match right. I recall seeing him put his foot up on the turnbuckle for his partner to smash their opponent into it -- then take it down, because that wasn't the spot. He was bad enough early on that I think it didn't matter how good he got later on; he wasn't getting another shot at that level.
  4. You mean Wealthy American Businessman Jeff Jarrett.
  5. Remember, "all this talk of a unification match" is just that - talk. By people on message boards. I don't believe it's been mentioned even once on TV.
  6. Is Heyman in yet? Tommy Dreamer seems reasonable.
  7. Ugh. I hope everyone gets over their bizarre need to have either the Wyatts or Shield turn soon. The best heel acts the company has had in some time, neither of which would work in the slightest as faces, do not need to be tampered with. Bray shouldn't turn for a very long time (though he should, and no doubt will, eventually) but Harper and Rowan could easily be replaced if they were to turn. Anyone can wear a goat mask and do clubberin'. I don't agree with this - Harper and Rowan have the right look to be backwoods cultists, and the added benefit of not having an established persona that requires an overhaul. Replacing them with, say, Drew McIntyre and Evan Bourne would require a lot more effort. That being said, if they can easily be replaced, all the more reason not to turn them - if the audience isn't vested enough in them or the Wyatt Family gimmick for the turn to mean anything, why bother doing it?
  8. DX vs. Legacy. I do wish people would stop fantasy booking War Games matches. WWE has the Elimination Chamber and Hell in a Cell, they won't book another gimmick match that is essentially treading the same ground, especially one that a) was a WCW staple, and Vince is known to have a dislike for.
  9. I can't help but picture Vince saying, "People wanted refunds after the last PPV because the finish was overturned? Fine! This time, they won't even get a finish!"
  10. I gotta be honest with you -- I didn't like that match much at all. It seemed like it was borrowing a lot of the worst US indy problems: Yes, there were some nice spots, but they were mostly meaningless; hell, at one point a reverse-rana-piledriver thing (Mexican Destroyer?) is immediately no-sold so the recipient can get into position for the next spot. Also, I assume that ref was somebody's relative, because he clearly had next to no idea what he was doing.
  11. Speaking of lacklustre debuts. All I remember is him calling out "Bam Bam Baggalow."
  12. It took me a full minute to figure out who the other blonde is in the Renee Young pictures. "Kelly Kelly? No, she's gone. It's not Maryse.... Jeez, who is it?" Don't get me wrong. Summer Rae's an attractive young lady. But she's got a very generic look when not paired up with Fandango.
  13. Sting's. And the poor man still hasn't woken up.
  14. Tasers, Ladders, and Chairs? Tasers, Ladders, and CLAIRE TNA! TNA! TNA! TNA!
  15. Tasers, Ladders, and Chairs?
  16. Can you imagine the booking meetings? If people thought March was bad....
  17. Only if you sacrifice yourself on a cross of unprotected chair shots and elbows to the cold, unforgiving cement floor. That seemingly puts you above reproach. What exactly is wrong with communicating with a porn star? You do realize they're people too, right? The way I see it, this is less about Foley's issues and a whole lot more about yours. I find it strange that a full grown man is writing fan mail to a porn star. To answer Jae's question seriously, yes I'd find a full grown man sending fan mail to Anna Kendrick strange too. I get admiring someone's work, I get being a fan. I'm a fan of a lot of people (Foley would probably top my favorite wrestler list if that matters), but I wouldn't write them fan mail. I wouldn't ask the biggest celebrity in the world for an autograph if I saw him/her on the street either. Nor would I approach them, try to strike up a conversation, or give them a hearty thumbs up. So in that way it certainly is my issue. In my secret other life, I'm a writer and musician, and I can tell you fan mail is one of the best parts of the "job" (scare quotes because I don't make a living at either.) It's much more meaningful than "you sold x copies of your book in the last three months." I wish more people sent fan mail to people whose work they enjoyed, whether it be music, literature, or pornography.
  18. To be fair, a) It's four matches, the first was taped before Xplosion for some reason, and they usually keep the in-ring action shorter on the taped episode because the fans are getting burned out, so they pad it out with more vignettes/etc.
  19. So, you are blaming Brutus Beefcake for the decimation of the tag team division, correct? If it wasn't for him, there wouldn't have been a window.
  20. Wasn't that move (the Ax Bomber, I think?) Hogan's finisher in Japan? So it's understandable.
  21. Just curious, but what is your definition of blandness? Because Kennedy pretty much fits all my parameters. Well, to start with, I'd say his mic skills and ability to engage the audience put him ahead of Kofi, Axel, Justin Gabriel, Zach Ryder, Jack Swagger, Tons of Funk, Camacho, Curt Hawkins, Epico, Primo, Hunico, JTG,Sin Cara, Tyson Kidd, and the Miz.
  22. Kennedy really gets short shrift around here. Yeah, there were times at TNA when he was sleepwalking through matches, but his series with Angle, the start of the Asshole gimmick and feud with Jeff Hardy, even some of his work with A&8s was pretty good. I hope everyone involved (Anderson/Kennedy included) has matured and he gets picked up by the WWE again - he'd be a nice counter to some of the blandness on the roster.
  23. How Punk can still get function and get through days may be a miracle of modern medicine. I mean, Lance Storm never touched painkillers either. But at least he was smart enough not to frigging kill himself every week and make his life even more difficult. Yeah, but being Lance Storm must be its own special brand of pain. Lance Storm doesn't have feelings. Feelings are a human concept.
  24. So glad Im not the only one. He's part of a list of TNA undercard people / random gimmicks that for good or bad, I geniunely was entertained by. Cody Deaner & ODB Shark Boy Lacey Von Erich / TBP Eric Young Curryman All good stuff. I know I'm in the minority here, but Above Average Mike Sanders was pretty good. I don't remember the whole S-E-X faction warfare that well, but I think they had a bunch of good stuff in amongst the Russo.
