  1. Bosh quite possibly. I'd be surprised if Wade ends up anywhere else.
  2. Lowry was always a long shot for Miami.
  3. Piranesi is back on his game. It was a rough couple days after he spent himself on that plan B joke.
  4. Uncensored '95: Where Hulk Hogan wins a strap match against Vader by dragging Ric Flair in drag to all 4 corners! Where The Blacktop Bully and Dustin Rhodes have a match so bad, it literally fucks with how the sun moves across the sky! Thank christ I didn't pay for that one.
  5. Blame the lockout. Shorter contracts means more cap room all around the league. Plus the expectation that the cap is going to skyrocket the next three years.
  6. I love the little meta bit about that scene. That's awesome! There are several allusions to Disney history peppered into The Princess and the Frog (owing in large part to it being the sadly brief return to more traditional animation.) The most obscure is probably that the name of Louis's band at the end is a reference to The Firehouse Five + Two, a band from the 1950's that was put together by some of Disney's animators.
  7. If nobody has yet made an Emma highlight video set to "Been Caught Stealing" we should close down the internet. Or one of you with more skill than I should get on that tonight.
  8. Oh man, what was that ppv from Australia that had Jarrett vs. Brian Christopher as the main event? I only bought it because Eddy was working (iirc, a triple threat of some sort with Psicosis and maybe Juvi?) and that match ended up only being "okay" and the main event was surprisingly decent and the rest of the show was so incredibly bad I was embarrassed just to be watching it. I did split the cost, so I think it only cost me like 10 bucks, but still. Ugh. Otherwise, I was usually pretty judicious about which ppvs I've bought over the years (pre-Network) and almost all of them were splitting costs with friends (the lone exception to this was No Way Out 2004, when neither or the two bars I usually went to for WWE ppvs were showing it, and I had no friends around who wanted to watch it, so I said "fuck it" and bought it at full price by myself because I was NOT going to miss Eddy Guerrero winning the WWE title.)
  9. Also, although I totally get it from a basketball perspective, the Pistons not picking up Chauncey's option makes me sad. He really deserved to retire as a Piston from his first run [don't get me started on that trade grrr....] and now they are punting on a second chance at it. I think Joe wanted to make it right with him, but now that Joe is gone, and it's not the same owner as the title team, and Stan being an outsider to the organization, there's nobody left that would have loyalty to him. I think Dumars would have hired him on in the front office after next year as well. All that said, he didn't have much left last year. Hasn't played more than 22 games in a season in a few years, only played 19 last year.
  10. Monroe has no leverage, as mentioned. Unless Detroit specifically decides to move on from him, he'll be in Detroit next year. I mean, if the Lakers throw him a max offer or something, Detroit might let him go, but barring that, he'll probably be back. Thing is, when you bring him back, you really need to dump Smith. And that's the least scary "Is(a)iah Thomas to Detroit" rumor I've seen in years. Thomas/Jennings/Singler/Monroe/DRUMMOND isn't the starting line-up of a contender but Good God Almighty does it beat last year's squad. I wish he had a better three-point shot (And I really wish his 3pt% hadn't declined each year) and I don't know how the fuck that team defends on the wings (not like Jodie Meeks solves that problem either...) but God God Almighty is it better than last year's squad. Also, you'll get to hear the story about how he was named after Zeke because of the Finals bet from the other team's announce crew 82 times a year.
  11. I haven't seen it, but the general opinion seems to be that even the critics who have liked the previous movies are punting on this one. I hold it as an article of faith that there is no way it is as bad as Revenge of the Fallen.
  12. Hey, if some team offers me the max, I won't turn it down.
  13. The NBA is insane. Just collectively, the entire organization is certifiable.
  14. Hell, I'll throw in Jennings as well.
  15. "In other news, Sixer's GM scouting injured centers for 2015 draft."
  16. I treasure exactly one line from Scott Keith. I have no idea why, but "El Gato is Spanish for Pat Tanaka" has made me laugh for well over a decade, and I still find it funny. That ends any and all praise I have for him.
  17. It would be less talented, but it would probably fit together better. And, you know, not have the least efficient guy at shooting from 8 or more feet out and the least efficient two-point shooter in the league teamed up together.
  18. I do need to get the Godzilla blu-ray before this is over. There are a million other ones I want, but that one is a need.
  19. Eh, I have zero care. I just find it coming back again amusing. I think I've seen one episode, maybe two, and one clip where they vowed to fight to bring Firefly back, total, in the show's entire run. But it apparently has Dracula level powers of resurrection.
  20. I don't think I've ever forgotten to pay for something in a self-checkout, but my local Walmart used to have a night cashier for a month or two who was legitimately terrible at his job. I got a 35 dollar dvd set for free because he forgot to scan it once, and a very cheap t-shirt the same way on a different occasion. I didn't even notice either time until later, when I realized I'd gotten more change (in the one case, way more change) than I should have, and double checked my receipt later. Shockingly, he didn't last long, but he was awesome.
