MARCH 2024 Wrestling Talk

Anyone with Honor Club: how much early ROH is on there? I really want to rewatch Joe vs Kobashi and see how it holds up. I haven't seen it since high school probably. -
I've enjoyed the Sunn0))) shows I've been to. The first had Boris open and was right when "Pink" came out. Very sick show plus Boris' drummer stage dive during Sunn. The second time featured Atilla on vocals performing dressed as a tree. I don't listen to them much anymore but still occasionally throw in Black One or the Boris collaboration. I had to go to Walmart after work and whatever radio they were playing was good. "West End Girls" was playing when I walked in and "Love Will Tear Us Apart" followed.

I really want to see Josh Alexander on a bigger stage. I was really disappointed TNA picked up his option.
-
MCMG could also potentially help out the younger teams in AEW and ROH. I would think there's a place for them on almost any roster right now. Veterans who can still tear it up in the ring.

There were idiots trying to mosh at one of the Sunn0))) shows I went to. Same with the Liturgy show I saw. People are idiots.

Love that there's an Indy tag team called "Creeps." Just feels right. -
2024 INDY WRESTLING THREAD

Posted too soon. The main event was quite good. Nick Gage vs Ryuji Ito. Obviously Ito isn't the death match worker he once was but still can go to an extent. Gage is a king in GCW and works the crowd accordingly. I'm glad he's having the second part of his career that he is. -

I haven't watched much indy stuff in years for reasons but signed up for Triller Plus and am watching GCW Ashes to Ashes. First time seeing Jack Cartwheel and I was prepared to hate his schtick but I kinda dug it. Helps that he pulled out a Sasuke Special which is one of my favorite moves. The show gave me the feeling I used to have watching IWA MS shows especially with Prazak on commentary. Abdullah Kobayashi and Tremont was a stinker. At one point Tremont was a really good deathmatch worker but he's fallen off. Every time I see her I wish Maki Ito was in AEW on my TV weekly. -
Are you reading a hard copy or an e-book? I was looking at grabbing that the other day.

2024 in Pro Wrestling Podcasts

I'll give that a watch mainly because dude put out a ten minute video about Canibus (the much hyped 90s rapper who flopped) that I really enjoyed over a cup of coffee one morning. -
I read this as "John Waters" and was highly confused for a minute.

Rasslin' Video Games

We were a PlayStation house so I had Warzone, Attitude and Thunder while my cousin had World Tour and No Mercy. I somehow talked myself into believing Attitude was a good game. I was a delusional child. -
Fully agree with Phil's take on the BTS pod: someone needs to throw a fireball.

Wrestling fans are weird. I found someone with a ton of satellite dark match footage on Archive. I'm scrolling through seeing what's there and end up on a huge illuminati section and it just went downhill from there. I didn't know that Rhianna was part of MKULTRA but now I do. -
She was living in Ohio and had started a pole dancing school. Emily Willis is the girl in a coma. It's a scary time to be an addict. I've lost count of how many people I know or have been acquainted with who have overdosed in the last few years. I count myself as extremely lucky I wasn't one of them.

Gummo got a lot of play in my college apartments. Somehow it always seemed to end up playing in the background of parties. -

It was kind of a comfort food movie but for when I was feeling pretty negative and my drinking years had a lot of those nights. I'd say from 2005 to 2016 I watched it a few times every month. "Synecdoche, New York" eventually became it's double feature partner. I don't think I'll ever watch either one again. -
"Cerveza CRISTAL!" is going to be stuck in my head all night.

Yeah, I'm content to let Curt take that one. I'll settle for "poster who's watched KIDS the most times."
