  1. when i see people smoking in businesses and the like i'm always thrown off. i'm not a smoker, but it's been against the law for quite a while now so it never even crosses my mind. me & some friends watched Monster Squad a few months back and we were all shocked by how vulgar it was. awesome, tho.
  2. this fight would be ridiculous, even by Japan standards. i would like to see it, tho.
  3. the retail place i worked at until recently still has 20+ launch day X-Box Ones.
  4. between that and the colored Yoshis, i guess we can count it. since you asked so nicely.
  5. Nightwing/Oracle? well, looks like they gave me a reason to get excited!
  6. finally picked up Hyrule Warriors. what a blast! i can already see where all my free time is going before next Friday when Smash Bros. comes out. also, the first batch of Mario Kart 8 DLC kicks off on thursday.
  7. i've used comics i don't want anymore/aren't in great shape/aren't worth anything as decor. i'll cut out panels or pages and decorate my long boxes and etc. like a useful collage.
  8. got Alice Cooper/Motley Crue tonite. saw Cooper probably 10 years ago and it was great, i expect more of the same tonight. haven't seen the Crue, but i don't see how it won't be fantastic.
  9. from this weekend's WCW Saturday Night: "i'm getting exciteder. that's not even a word. kids, don't say exciteder cuz it isn't a word"
  10. Nash said he did get permission from Arn. He said the beer cooler came from Arn himself. Did he? I had always read that the Horsemen didn't know it was coming so they were offended by it. i've heard that too but i've always wondered how kayfabe that was. honestly, in 1997 WCW i'd believe it either way.
  11. challenge: is there a worse Dog Collar match than Vader vs British Bulldog (Raw 11/3/97)? if so, i think i need to see it. i couldn't find it on YouTube, but here's a DailyMotion link (remove the X as it was breaking the board): xhttp://www.dailymotion.com/playlist/xfals_almoney48_11-3-97-raw/1#video=x2a5ra P.S. at least it has the redeeming quality of Steve Blackman debuting. sorta.
  12. i'm a big fan of alternate universe stories, so this is right up my alley. i think the multiverse has long been a humongous untapped well of great stories. very interested to see creative teams and titles that this brings forth.
  13. popped in season 1 last night and a friend stopped over. she said people keep recommending this to her but she's never seen it. after an hour she ordered the first couple seasons off Amazon. oh yeah.
  14. i've seen that segment get a lot of hate online, but to this day it remains one of my favorite things ever in wrestling.
  15. please tell me that's actually going to happen
  16. another factor is the exposure these guys get before they join the WWE. look at Bryan. he'd been wrestling on the independent scene for over 10 years. he'd showcased his abilities all over the world, and has been a multi-time champion in a variety of places. compare that with the 80s or early 90s when it was more like a guy just appeared in WWF, since you'd never seen him before. when you know how high a guy can get (no RVD), it's tough to see them relegated to some feud which holds no consequence or import.
  17. The only reason he got the initial push is because there was a gaping hole for a main event heel. There was no such hole in 1998. I used to be on the 411 boars back then and no one bought JBL for the first six months of that run but they insisted in forcing him down our throats and it got him over by sheer force eventually yeah i resented Bradshaw as a world champion and main eventer. maybe it's because we never got SmackDown! during this time, but i still don't give him any credit for that run. to me he will always be Bradshaw, half of the "New Blackjacks", the lesser half of the Acolytes, and a guy who put longhorns on the Hardcore Title and wasn't anything better than mediocre in this great sport. where's the 'controversial opinions' thread when i need it?
  18. if there is a reboot after Phase III, then i ride quietly into the sunset. the Marvel Studios flicks have made my inner child incredibly happy, but i don't need to play 'diminishing returns' like Sony's doing with Spider-Man. i mean, really. 60ish years of Marvel comic book history and we can only get three phases? i'm cool if the stories keep going. for example, if Steve Rogers retires, someone else takes over the Cap role for a movie or whatever, then they re-cast Steve when he returns to the Cap role.
  19. glad you enjoyed it! i found it on a whim and have been in love ever since. have shown it to soooo many people, and i'm always amazed when people don't appreciate it. luckily, that number is quite small.
  20. Wasn't that after they fired Stacy Carter and Lawler quit in protest? yes. and by "dying days of ECW" i assume you mean "right after ECW died".
  21. Cap is my personal favorite of Phase I, but i'd still watch Avengers over it 8 out of 10 times. Iron Man 2 wasn't bad, but is clearly the worst of all Marvel movies not including the word "Hulk". Ed Norton's Incredible Hulk movie wasn't as bad as the first, but that doesn't make it good either.
  22. i absolutely adore their entire feud but it seems like it never gets any respect. figured it was just viewed as another "old man main event" like so much else in wcw
  23. i went to 'mania 22. boogeyman vs booker t was my bathroom break. i've watched the event a number of times on dvd and still haven't seen that match. that's gotta say something.
