  1. Personally, I'm kinda hoping that at some point Jungle Boy will become Jungle Man and look a bit more like Jungle Jim Steele, without losing all his wrestling skills in the process, hopefully. Yes, SuperBrawl IV is really good. Not as good as Spin Stampede'94 or Slamboree'94 but probably close to being the third best PPV of 1994 WCW, I think.
  2. I've only read about that happening and as I was using a weed whacker in the garden yesterday, I was reminded of it. I have no interest in actually ever seeing any of that stuff.
  3. Yeah, it would probably be "Clothesline Day" otherwise.
  4. "I asked for sneakers! Fuck You, Cena!" "Well, tough shit, kid! Best I can do is cancer!" What an insensitive jerk he turned out to be
  5. I owned a copy of a wrestling magazine called Wrestling Today (I think that was the name) in '92 that had a story/interview on Eddie Sharkey. I haven't heard much about him since then, but the name is etched in my brain, as that was one of the two first wresting magazines (that weren't WWF Magazines), I ever owned. I read that through SO many times!
  6. Yes, this was right after they fired Jimmy Hart as their manager. If I remember correctly, it was during a singles match between Bret and Jerry Allen, when Anvil came down to ringside and yelled at Hart that he's fired and made him leave. It is possible that Bret won that match with a piledriver as well, but I only recall the Anvil part and that Allen kicked out at two after a backbreaker.
  7. Yeah, at least later on (in '88, post WM4) I remember him finishing a match against Dangerous Danny Davis with a piledriver on Superstars of Wrestling.
  8. After the refeed (that also included a 400g mousse cake) and a sweaty night of sleep after that I decided to get up for a run in the morning before breakfast. Some 40 minutes overall, with first 12 minutes of running (last two of which what I would call sprinting), then a minute of walking and the rest (including the stairs) with alternating between jogging and running. We have a decent heatwave going on here (by Finnish standards, anyway), so I was able to sweat out everything as I was back to 168, after the run. Actually, last night we went for a swim for the first time this summer. Well, not swimming swimming, but did spend a few minutes in the water, anyway. There are summers that I don't visit the beach once. Imagine that, all this work in order to get into what they call over here "the beach shape" and not visiting the beach! Well, I burn easily, despite the sunscreen.
  9. Yeah, I went wild with the trapbar today, as I felt a bit bummed out about the REAL deadlift so I decided to see what I can lift on trapbar while standing on a platform? My feet were at the low handle level, so I think it's pretty close to like lifting from the floor, albeit much more unsteady. So, I go 8x196, 6x306, 4x359, 2x416, 1x451 and 1x458. Then I took off the platform and did 2x458 off the floor. Then I said fuck this, it's heavy, and put the platforms beneath the weights. So I go 7 (well 2+5, since I had to re-adjust the weight, as it rolled off the other platform)×458 and then 8, 7 and 7x469. Then some shrugs with 416 (maybe 5 reps) and more with 306 and 196. After this it was just another sweat-pump with light curls and resistance band. I felt much better after this one. The evening weight was 168, so now I can refeed on good conscience. Nightshift next week, so I guess Sunday evening will be the next workout
  10. It's the healthier/ current Mox , that Shota is going for here, right? Bottle of still water and no cigarette in sight. Otherwise, very spot on impression.
  11. I got around up to main event, around until Mox started bleeding(in three parts), even managed to get in Rampage and first five matches on Monday, staying awake after the 16h shift at work. Yeah, this was really good, huh? Opener was excellent, impressed with Shota. Yuta, too. 3-way tag was crazy. I almost thought that Roppongi pulled it off there, but when the finisher got two, I figured that was as close as they were going to get. Cobb was a destroyer on this one. FTR wins big. I hope Dax isn't really hurt that seriously. Well, it's going around these days! Sting keeps on giving us crazy stuff and being awesome! It just pisses me off that Jeff Hardy was kinda on similar track, but pissed it all away again, oh well, bygones. Match was crazy. The Paul Orndorff elbow-inspired back rake was nuts! Nipple cripple was boss! The actual wrestling parts were, too! Glad that PAC won the title, but was liking Connors' generic wrestling game player one thing he had going on. I'm a sucker for those, anyway. Very impressed with Osprey. OC was pulling out some insane stuff as well. This was breath-taking at times and I was not sure at all that they were gonna mesh, but apparently, they were magic together. At the end, OC was like "Shibata is my homie". Women's match had four big time moves in a row, only punctuated by one near fall. It took a lot to pin Storm, but still pretty dominant win by Rosa here. I thought I saw something heelish in her, despite the show of respect at the end. I had to watch Claudio vs ZSJ twice, to see if poor junior got squashed as badly as it seemed on the first go. I guess not, but I hope he gets something out of making Claudio look that strong in his debut. Jay White was impressive in the 4 way, I'm always there for Hangman, but I may have missed something on Okada. I've only ever seen the Scurill match from All In prior to this, but this did not leave me all to excited. Didn't finish the Mox v Tanahashi yet, but so far so good. I guess I need to check out Buy In as well.
  12. It's been a weird couple of weeks. Work and shorter workweeks have made working out a bit difficult. This week I'm back to basically normal, but while I was not working out, I obviously still rode the bike to work and work itself has been sweat-inducing, as it's been pretty hot in the building. Same in the gym, once I got there. Also, I tried to restrict my calories pretty harshly during the work days. A few home workouts and a couple of jogs or walks, but I was able to maintain the weight around the 170 lb mark (give or take) where it has been for a while. This week started with a 16h shift at work, but I started the gym week on Tuesday, doing a circut of a bunch of upper body stuff and a few sets with about 260 lbs on the squat machine. Yesterday, for whatever reason a did a circut again, but started out with actual deadlift on a whim. Only did singles to see where I'm at and apparently, I was at 385 lbs. Not great. I did some stiff legged deadlifts with 340 and a few longer, slower sets with 264. Also did shrugs with 264 and a set of barbell rows with 154. Between these sets I did calf raises and squats on the machine again with 230. Then some overhead presses with 110 and then loaded 110 lbs on the bench and did some pump sets. Today, I gave the deadlift another go, and fortunately got up to 418, which isn't that bad, given my weakened state due to the diet reaching the home-stretch. A bunch of lat pulldowns to the front on the actual machine this time and a couple sets with the resistance bands later on. A whole lot of curls, side delt raises and pushdowns, both on the lat machine as well as the bands. I was soaking wet, drenched in sweat by the time I was done. I have no idea what I'll do tomorrow, but going for some sort of trapbar isn't out of the question. One week of diet to go after this week and also one week of work, before the summer holiday. Yeah, I'm starting to be about done. Well, work mostly. I'll try to keep some kind of workout regimen going despite not going to my regular gym at work.
  13. Yeah, I was going to say "Isn't that Pete the Administrator on the T-shirt, but no, this one is wearing a cap".
  14. The Rampage thread is already closed, but what's this about Adam Cole shaving his head into a faux-hawk and joining Tully Blanchard Enterprises? What now? Brian Cage?!? Well, that's even better! Oh, man that faction gets me SO excited, I may go all Daddy Magic up in here!
  15. I hope everyone who ordered the show will find it at least worth the money spent, preferrably much more. I may begin to watch it Wednesday, since I still have Rampage to get through before that. Have fun, I'll go to work in a few hours and try to avoid spoilers for a few days.
  16. Busting through plateaus is always cool! The 11th rep will come in due time.
  17. Oh shit! I turn 45 in a few months, in THAT case, I'm NOT looking forward to it!
  18. If so, then that would definitely be enough for this to happen! I'm all for it!
  19. Is there a logical link between Luke Perry and David Arquette that would make this an important part of the said program? Honest question, with no irony/ snark intended, for the record.
  20. Are we talking late '94 or early '99 Savage here? Because in '94 the body wasn't there, but the matches could be, if given a chance. In '99, the body WAS there, but the matches weren't anymore. Or split the difference and say '97?
  21. "C'mon, like we were really gonna kill a koala bear?" I think they did, but Fairlane got a new one and just repressed the painful memories and was all like "Hey, the koala survived! Unbelievable, un-fucking-believable!"
  22. So he bonds with Christian Cage, instead. Theory checks out, at least.
  23. Your son is obviously already has the capability of thinking ahead. "Look, dad, it will be for the best if Black takes that beating, instead!" Wonderful.
  24. Ok, so I will be seeing this one at least a day after the fact, if not more, since like a greedy, push over dumbass, I agreed to put in another 16h shift through Sunday night and Monday afternoon. Watching Dynamite, I was like "Oh wait, the PPV... well, shit!" I guess, unlike Christian Cage, I recoup the PPV money by doing more work, not less work! What did your first AEW T-shirt say, again Christian?
