  1. See, I think Oladipo was the no-brainer pick for the Cavs. He would give them perimeter defense and ball movement, two things they badly need. Waiters can move to the bench and bring scoring to the second unit. And it makes an easier sell to Bron in free agency if they have a guy who can do some of the defensive heavy lifting for him. Aaaand Boston goes all-in on shitting the bed this year.
  2. Wow. You need to see a replay of the end of Arkansas/Kentucky. Shit is crazy.
  3. You could be right, but I just don't see it at all with Bennett. He's not athletic. He's undersized for the 4 and too slow for the 3. He's a bad defender, even at the college level. He's (theoretically) a decent outside shooter but he can't create his own shot. Even if you take him off the flaming garbage scow that is the Cavaliers I think he's, at best, a below-average NBA player.
  4. Simmons has been using Sorry for Jabari, which I kinda like. Anthony and the Terrible, Horrible, no Good, Very Bad Season.
  5. The grey/blue road alternates tonight are pretty dope as well.
  6. I bought Disgaea D2 over the weekend. I can confirm that it is, indeed, more Disgaea. I have no idea why I bought it since I haven't even beat 4 yet. The graphics are real purty, though.
  7. He was using 'hipster' in the sense of 'anyone that enjoys things differently than I do.' I only played like 6 new games last year so my list would be GTA V, Rayman Legends, Rogue Legacy, Don't Starve, Sword of the Stars: The Pit, and Shadowrun Returns in some order. ACIV and Bioshock:Infinite could conceivably work themselves on to the list if I actually play them. Lego Marvel would be on there if it wasn't so buggy. Crusader Kings 2 is my real GOTY. Now and forever.
  8. Jrue Holiday out indefinitely with a stress fracture. I hate basketball.
  9. They're not used to having an offense this potent. They don't know their own strength. Wiggins made two absolutely terrible decisions at the end of a close game with Oklahoma last night. He also had a couple of "Oh shit, how did he do that?" plays earlier in the game. As much as I love having him as a Jayhawk I think he would ahve been better served going somewhere with a simpler offensive scheme, as KU's motion offense just does nothing for him. As much as it pains me to say it, he would be absolutely killing it in a Calipari drive-and-kick offense. KU's shitty outside shooting isn't helping him any, either. This is really Ellis & Embiid's team, they just mesh so well working the high and low post respectively. Selden looked really good, knocking down some clutch shots, and Frankamp gave good minutes for the first time this season.
  10. I was mostly joking but my god, could you imagine Gay and Smith on the same team? Would anyone else get to take a shot? Feels like years ago that the Knicks felt like they needed to give Chris Smith a guaranteed contract to keep JR happy. Those were the days.
  11. Mark my words: he'll be on the Kings before the trade deadline.
  12. If it's the same move I'm thinking of (Kind of a face-to-face stunner), it was Disco Inferno's finisher for a while and was in WCW/NWO Revenge. No Mercy is pretty much all about the CAWs for me, particularly after you unlock everything. I have a ton of NWA and Japan created wrestlers that are a lot more fun to play as than the default roster. My only beef with the game is that matches are way too short compared to Revenge.
  13. This person badly needs a code red. I sit at the front desk in my office and every time someone opens the outer door of the vestibule it sounds like a goddamn wind tunnel.
  14. Does it fuck I've got 3 donuts out of it since the start of Krustyland so you're not missing out on a ton.
  15. When I worked at Hollywood Video way back when we played Hot August Nights and the Steve Winwood concert tape all the time. It kept people from hanging around too long.
  16. You might give Dragon's Dogma a shot. It's free on PS+, at least I think it's still up there, and has some pretty fun combat and deep systems. Boss fights in particular are a blast as you get to climb all over giant monsters.
  17. The projected high on Monday is -15F. Guess who's burning a personal day at work?
  18. Daaang, Burrito, that picure of your wife had better get hung with pride in that new office. I used to have that same yellow chair. Great little funky 70s chair.
  19. Saints Row 2-4 are probably the best sandbox games on the system. Just totally nutter butters action and mayhem. Just Cause 2 can be had for less than $15 most places and is also worth it for sandbox mayhem. If you like Hong Kong action movies then give Sleeping Dogs a try. Demon's Souls & Dark Souls are rigorously difficult action-RPGs. If you can get past the near-vertical learning curve they're incredibly rewarding. And they are, refreshingly, totally free from the hand-holding that's endemic in modern games. Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends are the best 2D platformers in, like, forever. Far Cry 3 is a good sneaky/shooty open-world FPS, but has a pretty shit story. Borderlands 1&2 are basically FPS Diablo. The second has some genuinely funny writing as well. The NBA 2Kxx games are all really good, although the newest one apparently has a lot of microtransaction bullshit in it.
  20. I dunno, grapefruit juice seems like the kind of 50s-era health regimen that Hank would take to heart.
  21. I'm excited for Watch Dogs, Elite: Dangerous, Hotline Miami 2, Dark Souls 2, Quadrilateral Cowboy and the final release of Starbound. And hopefully clearing out my massive backlog of Steam games.
  22. The music levels in Rayman Legends are like pure concentrated joy.
  23. Motorola has dropped the off-contract price of the Moto X to $400/$450. I'm thinking I'll get either one of those or a Nexus 5 to replace my S4. I like the phone but I really hate the Samsung/AT&T shit on it and the non-standard button configuration.
