  1. i've never really understood only showing up for the main card. it's like, you paid for tickets to see the event, but you're only going to show up for less than 1/2 of it? you may as well get your money's worth and watch the entire thing, even if the guys on the prelims aren't known to you (which shouldn't be an issue with this card!)
  2. this show was amazing. probably my favorite concert i've ever been to. i loved it so much, i'm going to the encore show today. yep. same band, same city, same venue, and i'm totally seeing it again. i am no less excited than i was before Friday's show.
  3. that whole meaningless angle was fantastic. he did the diagram bit a few times, always messing it up, he cut promos saying he's "really learned how to do it, for real this time" and still messed it up, he'd brag about how he trained all weekend perfecting it, and it would still cost him the match when he'd bungle it. a legit highlight on those weekend cards.
  4. just got tickets for Guns N Roses for this Friday in Chicago. i was avoiding this tour due to Axl being previously unreliable, plus the absence of Izzy Stradlin. However, someone cancelled on a friend and he offered one to me. Holy shit, i cannot believe how goddamned excited i am for this show. P.S. i sent a tweet to Izzy and asked him to make an appearance, then sent Axl and Duff each one and told them to invite Izzy. i know it's a long shot, but fingers crossed since he lives in Indiana
  5. holy shit that thing IS huge (are we not doing phrasing anymore?!)
  6. fuck Hulk Hogan forever for (at least as far as i'm concerned) forcing Macho Man to hand over the title not once, but TWICE a single day after winning it.
  7. while i agree with many of the picks already posted, i want to suggest Kanyon. he had a varied offense, and utilized a lot of variations on regular moves. one of my favorite things he did was, if he was suplexing someone from the apron into the ring, he'd stand on the bottom rope for that extra leverage. Not everything he did was crisp or perfect, but it just added a lot IMO.
  8. i'm interested in the Rumble/Glover fight, but IMO best case scenario is that Jones beats Cormier and then they just launch Rumble right into a title shot.
  9. hoping for a Wonderboy victory, but i feel it is Rory's to win or lose. we'll see how much that Lawler fight took out of him, but i feel that Rory will control the distance en route to a descision win
  10. what is #4 Gus doing fighting unranked Blachowicz? i get that he wanted to fight on the card, but come on! how about OSP? if you want an easier fight for him, look at the 10-15 guys. Cummins? Villante? i was going to suggest a (seemingly) easy fight with an unranked guy that has *some* name recognition, but i see that Rafael Cavalcante has been cut from the UFC. Always expected more from him.
  11. so, i had a very vivid dream the other night about this fight. ti never dream about fights/fighters, and don't find this fight particularly interesting, so i don't know how this came about. Anyway, it feels like we're 3-4 minutes into Round 1. Fedor ducks down (possibly looking for a shot?) and catches a hard knee to the head. It knocks him down. Fabio jumps on him, raining down Ground & Pound. Fedor scrambles out of it, but just as he is getting to his feet, Fabio clocks him with a right uppercut/hook which puts Fedor on his back again. Fabio jumps on him again, this time finishing the fight with hammerfists and knocking Fedor cold. Now, i don't realistically see this happening, and this is not a prediction. I just wanted to post this incase my dreams can predict the future.
  12. disappointed that we likely won't see Cruz vs Barao, and although i really like Barao, i really don't see a way he could win that fight. but i'd like to watch it anyway.
  13. while certainly a possibility, i just don't see Brock being "that guy". i believe he's doing this because he wants to prove something to himself, so going in purposefully undertrained doesn't seem like something he'd do. It's quite likely that he gets blitzed while shooting for a takedown. a TD is his best option, since he would get lit up if he tried to keep it standing. Plus, Brock's never been so good at taking a punch. But i highly doubt that he's the type to take a "quasi-dive"
  14. not watching thru the Network, but i've been watching 1999 Nitros every Monday since January. the bad stuff is REALLY bad, but there's some pretty decent stuff in there too. they're in the opening stages of the old guard (flair, piper, ddp) vs. young guys (buff, benoit, saturn). and also just beginning the Curt Hennig vs. Rap Music feud, so i know it's about to get a whole lot worse.
  15. the fact that Helwani is getting more press coverage for being kicked out (which is perfectly within UFC's rights) than any number of the amazing things that came out of UFC 199 is atrocious. Bisping's title win was tremendous. Dominick Cruz again avenges his lone loss and shows why he's the undisputed champ. the Brock Lesnar announcement. a potential Dan Henderson retirement. the Conor-Diaz rematch officially happening. Max Holloway (#4 FW) utterly demolishing the #5 FW, getting his 9th consecutive win, and having now beaten the current #5-6-7 and #8 fighters in his last 4 fights. and an all-time great sloppy slugfest in the Fight Pass Prelims. This was one of, if not THE, best top-to-bottom nights of fights of all time. And all anybody cares about is some douchebag reporter.
  16. oh snap i forgot about that. yeah, i won't hold my breath waiting for an ep on him
  17. so, i watched all of those "Where Are They Now?" episodes on Fight Pass yesterday. they were decent, but they are only 6-7 minutes long apiece. Was a bit disappointed. Why hype up this new "show" and you have less than 40 minutes of actual content? Also, i said this before, but the selection of guys wasn't great. Hopefully a future season focuses on old timers. Kimo Leopoldo, Tank Abbott, Carlos Newton, Oleg Taktarov. edit: also Karo Parisyan
  18. michael bisping, your ufc mw champion. holy shit, this card was goddamn insane
  19. whoa, whoa, whoa. lesnar at 200?!? can this be a real thing? whats his wwe contract situation?
  20. holy shit Hendo. i expected a tentative judges decision. couldnt have been more wrong
  21. wow. thought that was an early stoppage until the replay. crazy comeback tko for ortega
  22. damn penne took a beating. nice ko win for dariush. made vick look like an amateur
  23. mutapcic deserved that decision, regardless of rogen verbally fellating Casey
