  1. Well, I for one was entertained throughout the entire show! Too bad Thatcher didn't come out on top, but this likely means that Balor is the next top challenger, as was mentioned earlier. Bronson's Bam Bam tribute was on FIRE! Also liked Priest's entrance gear. The match was crazy, with everyone working really hard! Broson's splash off the ladder with an added 55lbs of extra weight in the form of a poison pixie on his back was excellent. One of the guys I was fine with winning, actually did, so that's ok. Granted, it was the most obvious, not surprising choice of the three, but still. For a douche, McAfee gave an absolutely brilliant performance. So I guess since he isn't a full time wrestler, the Panama Sunrise was actually good enough for a three count. Nice touch. I had a feeling Dakota wasn't winning the title just yet, but the match was really good and intense. Kai was losing clumps of hair like Jarl Varg on season 3 of Norsemen! The face-off between Gonzales and Rippley was bad ass, but Rhea has other things going on right now, namely Mercedes Martinez! Will Gonzales cost Rhea that match and they will move on to that feud next? Scarlet's Poppy-cosplay sure was something! I bet Lee regrets giving up the North American title right about now, huh? Almost a Midnight Express moment for him, right there! He has to be called up to the main roster, though. Kross went straight to the top and NXT is in deep shit right about now! If Dijakovic and Lee can't put this guy away, who the hell can? Well, if the shoulder separation is serious, Kross may actually end up having a Finn Balor moment himself, and that would be very unfortunate! Overall, this was much better than I expected and while most people certainly will not feel the same way, I'm looking forward to the return of NXT UK in September.
  2. On the other hand you'd think No F'n way, but on the other hand you just can't buy publicity like that (nor would you want to)!
  3. Seeing as this is only messageboard I participate in, I'd like to chat about general fitness as well! I have been a so called "body guy" ever since I've been 13 years old. Conversly, I've only been anything actually resembling a "body guy" since I've been 35 years old. I just peaked physically somewhere from 1-3 years ago (turning 43 in a month, as advertised on several threads as well) and still getting questions about steroids while being militant natural. Aside from this (not so)#humblebrag, I want to let you guys know this: It's not too late to start, until it's literally too late to start! I thought I was washed up at 29, or something, let alone later. Then I just started again at 34+ and stuck with it and broke every record I ever made as a 20-something. I started working out again at home with one 25lb cattlebell in 2012 and was trapbar deadlifting 550 lbs by 2018, still regularly lifting 450lbs on occasion these days, so it can be done! So, the point being, find a time to work out, like Dolfan does, and make it a part of your daily routine. After a (rather long) while, it will not feel like a chore! Trust me, I've been there!
  4. I have stated on numerous threads recently that I'm going through '93 Superstars on the Network and I was wondering if the awesomeness of Crush vs Papa Shango ever happened? And the other thing that goes further on into the summer of '93, is Mr Hughes the only guy to beat up and lay out The Undertaker without there being a big blow-off match (with Taker getting his revenge)? I mean sure, there were circumstances, but still there aren't many more!
  5. Moving away from Sid for a minute, I saw Shawn Michaels vs Kamala from '93 last year and all I could think of was "if this was '82 or even '87 Kamala and '96 or even '94 Michaels, this would be an amazing match!" Can you guys think of any other examples of matches that would have been much better with a time- machine involved?
  6. I think the chances are "really boring" and "dumpster fire" with very little in between!
  7. It takes me something like 4 weeks not to see this show on the Network reruns, but I did add "We Don't Need Another Hero" on my Spotify-playlist yesterday thanks to you guys!
  8. South Park quote: "Stop reading things into shit that aren't there!" That notwithstanding, I must say that fan theory stuff DOES sound fascinating!
  9. In a perfect world, I'd say an 8 match card is about as good as it gets, if you have a 3+ hour card to fill. Sure, you need to give pre-match promos and state-of-the-art montages of each of those matches and make them special, but all things considered, 8 sounds amazing! Not with this card, obviously, but in general. Put the overall 8 best matches across both rosters on one card and give them time and purpose, and I'll be all over that noise, 5 Gin and Tonics or not!
  10. Referring back to the lack of competitive matches on Superstars, it seems '93 is better in that respect than '92 was. There's one of those bad boys on almost every episode since February-ish? Bam Bam vs Earthquake, Big Bossman vs Doink, Yokozuna vs Hacksaw in a knock down challenge and Giant Gonzales vs Virgil, anyone? ...oh, crap Owen vs Bam Bam this week, that should get your attention!
  11. Already into early season 6, but I just want to throw a few things out there: Since the 90's was smack dab in the middle of "my time", I got a special kick out of these little things... "So, what are you, like an Asian Daria?" or something to that affect! THANK YOU! Thanks for bringing that up for yourselves, so I didn't have to ask around here if that was the case! Sir-Mix-Alot on that "slightly" modified "future female leaders" TV show (reasoning why he was one of the judges) "If people know ONE thing about me, it's that 'I cannot lie!' " No, dude, it's literally the second thing people know about you, if they knew more than one thing! And also, referring back to the Albino Rhino gyno, the Princess Catelynn's quip about " what makes you an expert on my fertility?", answered by "well, I'm a gynegologist. I specialize on fertility..." and so forth. So it makes him literally "the expert" on the subject! That was priceless, among so many other priceless things on this show!
  12. Yeah, have Drew go over, but with enough dispute for Orton to campaign for a rematch, where he finally ends up as champion. Also, referring to the amazing Thunderdome Bingo, I still think the end result will be a rather boring bingo! Not that I'd be participating, but I'd be damned if I'd watch this show sober!
  13. I tried looking for the indie stuff and I can only find it on the front page on the Featured section. I use chromecast and the WWE Network App, so your mileage may vary. I'm going through the new batch of Superstars (leading up to WM IX) and I remember feeling like it's a foregone conclusion that Tatanka would beat Shawn for the IC-title! Well, I felt the same later on year when Mr.Perfect faced Shawn at SummerSlam, so what do I know? Also, it's pretty jarring seeing the same matches I watched when I was 16, especially Bob Backlund who was hyped as 43-years old, making his comeback! I'm just about there myself! Jesus H, where did the time go?
  14. I'm all in on McIntyre (the best of Evolve compilation is something else, but holy crap has Drew upped his gear dosage over the years), but I do fear Orton will walk out with the title at SummerSlam. Considering Vince's preferences over the years, I just can't fathom how Vince could ever NOT push this man to the top and plant him there until he grows roots for F's sake! That said, Orton has suddenly upped his game to another level. This reminds me of a band that pulls out a certified classic later on in their career, despite being solid throughout their career, after a few years on top earlier on in their careers!
  15. Some thought: With Gargano and Holland we saw the ONLY story worth telling in pro wrestling and that story is "Holy fuck! He landed straight on his goddamned head! How can he still be alive?" Actually, that's just joke I've telling my friends over the years, but that was pretty much the textbook example that should always accompany the said joke in the future. I wonder if Gargano is actually OK, or will this come back to haunt him in the future? Anyway, just like that the ladder match became something else than a showcase for up and comers. And just like that, Ridge Holland is nothing special. That's not cool! Anyway, if Grimes, Bronson or Priest walk away with the title, I'd be fine with any one of them. Legado six man was nifty, Wylde makes an effort to look extra cool as far as his fashion choices are concerned. Not that I know what passes for "cool fashion" these days, I just know they probably don't call it that. Reina...erm Raquel Gonzales is getting into amazing shape! The surprise return could mean trouble for Io. Kai will end up as champion, but I'm not sure if it will happen yet. Be that as it may, Gonzales will challenge for the title too, eventually. I just don't know the champion could be at that point? Anyway, Kai beat Jessie, who changed her character already, since the last time I saw her. I'm really glad Aliyah is getting something to do. Being anywhere near Mercedes will give her credibility she has not had before. Even if Martinez does the heavy lifting, she can be in her spotlight, as a goofy side-kick, along with Stone! That powerbomb, tho! Shotzi kissing the retreaved helmet before the match was heart- warming. As Turk128 said, McAfee SHOULD probably be a manager of sorts and only get in the ring once in a blue moon to get annihilated. I think he's a douche, but that was one hell of a promo! The problem is: Now he will have to DIE at Takeover for Adam Cole not look like a complete wimp! What if Bam Bam Bigelow and Lawrence Taylor would have their roles reversed at WM XI? LT going over ended Bigelow in the WWF as is, imagine if LT pulled that kind of punk-card on Bigelow and still beat Bam Bam like he did? This needs to look like Bret Hart vs Will Sasso (in terms of McAfee's offence level), but on the other hand, I want Pat to pull out all the stops, if this is a one-time deal. I remember when the rumors of WWE's interest on Killer Kross started surfacing, somebody said that there's no way WWE will let Kross be like The Undertaker, and yet, somehow here we are! Taker's first ascend to the top was fast, but this may be even faster (inflation-adjustment notwithstanding)! I will be surprised if Lee retains, but he will be the first one to make Kross actually sell offence. VD (seems appropriate way to descibe him) is SO lucky there are no fans in the arena right now! They had absolutely no choice but to turn him (since they deem him to be too valuable of an investment to be canned), because there's no damn way people would cheer him at this point. The match was good for what it was with everyone getting involved. Thatcher vs Finn will be something, but it definitely isn't Thatcher vs Dunne!
  16. As far as Xavier goes, it freaks me out that he would go so early as 43, since I'll be the same age in a month. Terrible news, as is anything on this particular thread. As far as Low-Ki goes, vice-like grip? Butbutbut...I hear his forearms are tiny! How can this be?
  17. Probably not among the best, but there is a tag match with Blazer and Koko vs Tully and Arn on an episode of '89 Prime Time. It's at least an interesting watch, since it's High Energy 3 years before there was High Energy, and you know, Tully & Arn.
  18. While I totally agree with you on Stan Lane, I'm sure the post was not meant in any way to disrespect his obviously amazing tag team wrestling abilities. Just saying.
  19. And in honesty, it's 2020, we shouldn't be shitting on Billy Gunn and his abilities at this point. I mean jesus christ, it's not like he's Boris Shukov, or something!
  20. Edge sure lit a fire under Orton's ass, that's for certain. Goddammit, I do not want Drew to lose the title at this point, but there is a pretty good chance he will walk away with the title. I guess it's about time, anyway.
  21. Did Bagwell & Scorpio ever face the Blackhearts? Now that would be some underrated shit for '93 if there ever was one! I don't recall seeing it on Saturday Night, but there is a timeframe it could have taken place! Anyone know if it did?
  22. You may be right and I sure hope you end up being just that. Hey, Shane vs Test worked out alright in '99, right?
  23. On the smoking skull sessions with Taker they talked about this match and Austin said he smacked his face on Taker's skull on some pedesterian spot early on and has no recollection of the rest of the match. So Taker was bottlefeeding him just like Foley during the HitC! That may have something to do with the lack of chemistry. I liked this match better than I did the Cold Day In Hell IYH match, but that's neither here nor there.
  24. Apparently, neither does Austin, but that was probably the joke, anyway!
