  1. Didn't all the Hogan/DiBiase matches end the same way? Virgil gets involved causing the DQ letting Hogan win. They could have probably built up to a steel cage match at Summerslam. Of course no Mega Powers vs. Ted/Andre means no Miss Elizabeth doing the strip tease. What a horrible what if world that would be to live in.
  2. It's because NXT and WWE are different worlds. At the most the writers on RAW/Smackdown probably watch clips of NXT and go by summarized notes for character's (at least the ones they don't care about). They obviously are putting effort into Bo Dallas and Adam Rose.
  3. I like Santino, but he really is a kiss of death. Last night when I posted I simply was stating that she has made the most of a pairing that was designed to fail. The whole bit with the Pink Cobra and them tangling up was pretty damn funny. Sure it does nothing for her, but it was funny as hell to watch. I can't possibly hate on this.
  4. Stephanie had me laughing tonight when she came down to the ring and then a minute later KANE:Destroyer Of Worlds comes out through the crowd and she was doing her best Willy Wonka impersonation. No...Stop...Don't...Please. I mean if she wasn't there, that beat down would be one of the best ever. Gotta hand it to Kane. Dude has shot knees but there he was doing three Tombstones on surfaces not fun for said knees. Bad News Barrett is so awesome. That match with Sheamus was just great. I love the Bull Hammer elbow. It's so much better when he doesn't telegraph it and just levels people with it. Since RVD won, it has to mean we're getting Barrett vs. Big E. I figured Ceasro vs. Big E was a lock, but Barrett as Intercontinental Champion and feuding with Sheamus would be great. I must have missed the Bo promos some posters above were talking about. Most of the 9pm hour I was watching Fast & Loud on Discovery. Saw the amazing Wyatt promo though. I dont know how he came up with the whole world bit...but it so amazing to watch when they are in the right cities. Only thing I was surprised about was The Sheild didnt come out to destroy everyone who was involved in the 11 on 3 beat down last week. I thought for sure Rybaxel was gonna get it. People were hating on Emma, but that friggin pink cobra has me in tears from laughing so hard. This is all stuff that should have made her fail with her call up but she has rolled with it and made it all work. Paige vs. Aksana was BRUTAL. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Aksana should not wrestle. Paige nailing her with that knee had to be payback for that ugly spinebuster Aksana tried to do a minute earlier. Why haven't Paige and Tamina confronted each other yet? At least have Tamina put her down and then the next week Paige returns the favor. The end of RAW was fun. I can buy Bray being Kevin Sullivan for John Cena. The ending with him holding his head was just great.
  5. I would have paid money to see Vince vs. The Sandman in ECW style match with the lights going out and random run in's galore.
  6. Backlund is a weird case, as he left the national scene at a relatively young age, then had a short(ish) return to the national scene. I mean if early/mid forties washed up(and I grant its guy-by-guy) but Flair was going sixty minutes at the 1992 Royal Rumble at that age. . . Backlund is a freak of nature. I would say he was no where near washed up or past prime when he came back to the WWF in 1992. He wrestled the same exactly style of match that he did when he was at the top of his game. The only time I would say he was past his prime was when they turned him into a parody of himself as Mr. Bob Backlund: Presidential Candidate. Hell even when he was in TNA a few years ago when he would just randomly show up and had that odd feud with Alex Shelley, he was still in great shape. But it's not fair to say he's past his prime. He transitioned from serious wrestler to comedy act. It's not like he had to go out and wrestle serious matches. I'm sure if TNA had a clue and used him in a serious legends role he could have done so greatly. He's what...64 now? When I saw him at The Barclays Center at a WWE house show last September (he was doing that take a pic and get it on WWE magazine thing) he looked in amazing shape. Compared to a broken down Ric Flair, Backlund probably could if he were inclined to go 20-30 minutes without looking like hell.
  7. I'll go with Ric Flair vs. Triple H Taboo Tuesday Steel Cage match. Flair was way past his prime and at this point his entire offense was chops, testicular claws, more chops, and the figure four. But despite all that he still had the magic of being Ric Flair and getting a crowd behind him and had probably the last great blood soaked steel cage match ever in the WWE. At this point all Flair had left was taking a beating and bleeding half to death and that in of it self told a great story. You watch this match and others (the I Quit with Foley, TLC with Edge, Hardcore with Big Show) and it's the same story. Flair might die before our eyes but he's gonna give it all he's got somehow.
  8. I read an interesting what if last night. I found it through some alternate history message board (yeah...its apparently a thing). http://www.alternatehistory.com/Discussion/showthread.php?t=289798 A few of them were interesting. Most were far fetched. But this one had me thinking. It was about what if Mick Foley died at the King of The Ring by taking the throw off the top of the cell or the chokeslam into the ring and he ended up breaking his neck. How does wrestling recover from such a horrific thing? Also WrestleCrap apparently has or had a running series of Wrestling What If's. I thought this was a good one. Bruiser Brody if he wasn't murdered in Puerto Rico. Written as if he was doing a shoot video and he talks about the rest of his career from about 1988 to 1997 when he retires. http://www.wrestlecrap.com/more/rewriting/what-if-bruiser-brody-hadnt-died/
  9. Is this match on tape somewhere? Where and when did it happen? Also it looks like it was both a bullrope and chain match.
  10. Emma being bitten by the cobra and her arm going limp had me laughing way too hard. Batista looked like an old man who's oxygen tank just ran out after the match with Sheamus when he was outside the ring.
  11. I am so intrigued by Paul being the morning show host at Hot 97. At first I thought he was full of shit, but then I realized every musical reference he made in that interview was a hip-hop artist. Is there a chance he actually knows something about hip-hop? Was Hot 97 going to be a different format? How the hell would that shit work? Well in the early 90's, Hot 97 was at the bottom of the ratings here in NYC. Then they got new management and started sky rocketing up in the demo's. TOYOTA OUGHTA MAKE HYBRID BLOWERS. Part 2 is great only a couple minutes in. EDIT: Just finished the whole thing. Damn what a great interview. The part about Vince losing his shit over sneezing was great. I also loved the story about the conference call and Paul being like "well I listened to the last six before that one...but they didn't ask". I always wondered if ECW could have gotten on Fox Sports in a last ditch effort to stay on. It sounds like he made a good call not taking that deal. But man the TNA bit about them losing $70 to 90 Million. At least The Fertitta Brothers turned UFC around eventually. What the hell is TNA's excuse to continue pissing that money away.
  12. Someone needs to photoshop a pic of Flair on the left and the Crypt Keeper on the right. Best I could do at 5 in the morning and with some pain in my hand using the mouse.
  13. I listened to the first part of the Paul Heyman interview yesterday morning. It was so weird hearing Austin not curse up a storm in this. I'm finding the bit about going up against Stern hard to believe. Not so much that it could have been possible...but what station he would have been on. I can't for the life of me see Paul E. Dangerously as the morning host on Hot 97 back in the early 90's. MAYBE on Q104 when it flipped to a hard rock format in 93 or WNEW. Aside from that possible fallacy, it was great to hear them talk. I loved the part about blood being needed in certain situations. The visuals of Rick Rude smoking a joint and watching Cape Fear was hilarious. Can't wait for the second part.
  14. I just pictured a 65 year old barely mobile Abyss using a walker wrapped in barbwire. Thank you for that horrifying thought.
  15. I'd like to see old WWF Superstars, NWA Power Hour, all the Clash Of Champions, home video releases (the Coliseum Best of WWF ones). Saturday Night should have Saturday Night at 6:05 PM just for continuity's sake. Does the WWE have that old Wrestler show that the NWA did with Lyle Alzado that was on Saturday mornings for one season? If so throw that into the mix. Why hasn't The Wrestler (the old AWA movie Verne made) made its way onto the Network yet?
  16. Yeah. And supposedly they had Joe Lynn Turner lined up for a tour and possibly album because Stephen Tyler wanted to do solo stuff. When I mentioned Brad Whitford, Aerosmith played as a 4 piece at a special show at the Whiskey (its on youtube from live nation). Granted the keyboard player was with them and Slash joined in at the end, but still they were a 4 piece. Well as for ACDC, they put out a statement today saying that Malcom is taking time off for his health but they are not retiring.
  17. And that right there is the difference between Michael Cole and Jim Ross. Jim Ross would have been throwing in a ton of THOSE ROTTEN SOB'S. Though that's just more the announcers being handcuffed and told stick to the script. NO INDEPENDENT THOUGHT.
  18. There's some really weird rumors floating about Malcom right now. Everything from early onset Alzhiemers/Demntia to advanced cancer. I mean just the other day Aerosmith played a show without Brad Whitford because he was on that Hendrix tour. It's one thing to have someone fill in, but it really does say a lot about AC/DC if Malcom is so bad off that they are willing to call it quits.
  19. The Freebirds would be at the top of my list. Why they didn't go in at the one in Atlanta is beyond me. Here's the rest of my current list. We'll exclude The Rock, Randy Savage, and Sting because obviously they would be the headliners. Stan Hansen Bruiser Brody Lex Luger If stables can go in The Heenan Family The Steiner Brothers LeiLani Kai The Brooklyn Brawler
  20. Sting could trust Daniel Bryan too. He would never turn on him. As for Sting in TNA, yeah he phoned it in 95% of the time. But that 5% when he actually gave a shit about the match he was in was pretty good. I'm pretty sure if he does sign with the WWE and they give him a couple of big matches over the course of the year he could tap into that 5%.
  21. Yes...what could have been.
  22. So I watched this movie called "Another Happy Day" last night. I've had the DVD for a while since I found it in the dvd bin at this discount store. Finally put it on and wow what a dark dark DARK movie. Ellen Barkin stars as a woman driving with her two sons to her oldest's son's wedding at her parent's home. One's a 17 yr old drug addict the other is a 12 year old with Asbergers. Her mother is played by Ellen Burstyn and the woman is one of those mother's who despite how fucked up her family is around her...nothing is wrong at all. There's one scene that had me laughing for all the wrong reasons. Barkin's character is asking her mom if there's a history of depression and suicide in the family. Burstyn denies it but then says "Well Dad's Dad shot himself". Barkin is stunned and thinks this is maybe something she should have known about and Burstyn deadpans "It was the depression...alot of people shot themselves". The film was written and directed by Sam Levinson (Barry Levinson's son) and it won an award for Best Screenwriting at Sundance in 2010. It reminded me a lot of Festen (The Celebration). Granted it didn't have the big shocker that film does about a deep dark family secret, but still. I don't think the reviews for this film really do it justice. It's just such a dark depressing film that it probably put a lot of people off.
  23. Team Extreme takes over the Assylum and mach cruicify Jarrett in barbwire to close one of the Wednesday PPV. Rhino winning the NWA World Title after winning a guantlet match battle royal because the original main event had to be pulled when Kevin Nash had "heart problems". Christian vs. Abyss in a Barbwire Cage Match for the NWA World Title. Sting beats Jarrett for the NWA World Title with Angle as the outside enforcer. Mick Foley and Jeremy Borash: Tweet & Tweak Connection
  24. Jarrett has a company now. Why waste Sudd Stable Reborn on TNA if there's a chance people can actually see it.
  25. I had no idea they were making a Jersey Boys film with Walken and Clint directing. Why put it out in the summer? Sounds like it should be out in the late fall for awards season.
