  1. Well, that and Savage being in it twice.Only reason I can think of for the repeat is that one is Macho Man, the other is the Macho King, which Savage won that year.
  2. Actually apart from the main event (and the god-awful Russians vs. Canadians match) I think it's a pretty entertaining show overall. The Konnan/Rey Mysterio (Snr) vs Chris Adams/Norman Smiley match is a lot of funI'm on my phone so I can't link it, but YouTube has a really fun Funks vs Martel/Zenk match from AJPW that I really dig.
  3. If I was TNA I'd not release Tapa for fear of an angry Barbarian coming round and big booting everyone's faces off. This is going to be shown on Challenge in the UK for free on Wednesday, so I'm kinda looking forward ti this for some reason.
  4. With all the talk a few pages back about faces dressing as Los Matadores for a disguise, I demand an appearance by Big Show Cara at some point.
  5. The thing that always confused me with the Boss Man/Mountie feud is that neither of them had any authority to arrest the other leading to the Hard Times match. The Mountie was way out of his jurisdiction, heck not even in the right country, whilst Boss Man wasn't even a policeman.
  6. I'm guessing Mass Transit is very much the wrong answer. Big Josh would be my answer.
  7. Oof, bit of a step down to a 3 minute 8-man tag match for Wade there.
  8. Just been watching Bragging Rights 2010, and the Buried Alive match between Undertaker and Kane ended with the Nexus attacking Taker and causing him to be buried alive. Excuse my poor memory, but was it ever explained why they did this?
  9. Dean, if you want more enormous Brits against smaller guys, you may enjoy this six-man with Cyanide teaming up with the Henchmen. The face team are a bit milky (curiously only the smallest guy, Ho Ho Lun, has any idea how to make offence on bigger guys look credible), but watching nearly 1000lbs of men heeling it up is pretty fun.
  10. That description of Summer Rae is so accurate. I think they need to turn Sascha heel, the Divas division is pretty face heavy with Paige, Emma, Bayley and Charlotte all getting good TV time, even if poor Bayley never seems to win a match.
  11. Wasnt that his gimmick in the UK? When they came to King of Trios, the cartel wore flat caps and came to the ring to Vindaloo.Sort of, he pretty much always worked as "the Guv'nor" as a London hardman. However on NXT, he went from "here's Danny Burch from the UK" to "here's Danny Burch, West Ham football hooligan. He says a pint and a fight is a good night" so they're pushing that side of his character a bit more.
  12. Now that Martin Stone is working a football hooligan gimmick on NXT, I'd love to see him paired up with Wade Barratt in some form of bruising Brits tagteam.
  13. I remember ADR's debut vs Rey, where in the midst of working over Rey's arm, he just stood on the arm on the steps and waved to the crowd. Won me over right there.
  14. Surreal start to the day. Been awake all of ten minutes when I switch on TV and am greeted by Magnus and Mason Ryan in their UK Gladiator days from 2007. The very first thing I hear is the announcement that Goliath (Ryan) has broken the world record for holding a 20kg weight with outstretched arms, while Magnus looks a little envious.
  15. All the random comp stuff I've picked up over the years ended up being quite good...some unlabelled Reslo here, some fun best ofs there. To my shame, I did recently find a tape I'd made my friends for Christmas in 2003. In amongst the good stuff (Liger/Ultimo, La Parka/Shocker) I found two different Backseat Boys matches and Shark Boy vs Mike Sanders from TNA. No idea why I included those.
  16. Saw Sabu in action tonight, which is the first of two shows I'll be seeing him at this weekend. His match against Jimmy Havoc was a pure crowd pleaser, with ring dives, tables and Havoc being a bloody mess by the end of it. Looking forward to his match vs Wild Boar on Sunday. Curiously though, I think Super Crazy got the louder reaction from the crowd pleaser
  17. Textbook is pretty great as a self-promoting heel. The one time he brought out an actual textbook which he used to explain the rules to the ref, then waffle his opponent lives long in the memory.I was going to go to this, but a combination of being massively tired and feeling burned by the first show which failed to deliver the advertised Marty Scurll or Mark Andrews meant I didn't bother. I heard this time the Fite Club vs Boneyard tag match was missing a member of each team and replaced them with unadvertised guys, so this may be a recurring theme.Next week Grado is back in Cov, this time in a tag match vs the Henchmen, which had the potential to be the greatest thing in wrestling.
  18. For a guy best known as a lumbering slug, the Warlord looks great here. Nice short arm clothesline and I love way he dumps the guy on the gut wrench suplex.
  19. City fans love the chocolate away kit. I've got a replica in my wardrobe, it was our bestselling merch a few years back.
  20. As I heard the news, thought about Sky Blue Sam. Poor bugger.Yeah, this has been a pretty bleak pre-season. We've got a good young manager in Steven Pressley, a few players who are quality at this level, but everything just feels like shit. We've not been able to bring in any players to replace those who left when their contracts expired, meaning we played a 19yr old and a tiny 21yr old right back in central defence yesterday. The average age of our outfield players was 21. We've probably got the best keeper and striker in the league in Joe Murphy and Leon Clarke, but the latest news is that we're putting them up for sale. It never gets better at City.Next week sees our first "home" game of the season in bloody Northampton, where we'll be for the next 5yrs. I, like most Cov fans, will instead be at the Ricoh at that time to watch a legends match. Seeing as how only 210 season tickets have sold for Northampton, I think this will have the greater attendance.
  21. He did, but only after Punk had already binned him off.
  22. How is it that people can still make this mistake, or maybe it's not a mistake and people just trust WWE will up and not give a shit.I worked on theory the WWE wouldn't give a shit.
  23. How about Bryan beating Cena, then Sandow coming out to cash in HIS case, only for Bryan to beat him too. THEN Orton comes out to cash in and win the title.
  24. Savio wrestled in Ring Ka King right? Lets not rule him out - which i'd be delighted with by the by.
  25. I hope it's every rejected Gut Check contestant invading TNA in a Nexus-ripoff storyline. 3 way faction warfare!
