OK, just got back from Godzilla. Kinda eh. Effects were good, I thought the MUTO were interesting, liked that they gave them sexual dimorphism, though I was half expecting the female to eat the male when they finally met up. It's not a flaming turd that the Sony Zilla was, but it's lacking something. It either needs to be totally kick ass or fucking whacky. It's not kick ass enough and it's not whacky. And man, it too balls to reduce the male MUTO and Godzilla start fighting to show it as a clip on tv.

Kind of chaotic yesterday. The team captain's dad passed away on Thursday, so I found out my team was reduced to 2 people, we normally have a 4 person team. We ended up tallying 125 species between 4am and 9pm, which i think is the 2nd or 3rd highest total in the team history. BIrd list maybe later.

This year I will be participating again in the World Series of Birding with the Hackensack Riverkeeper to raise funds for the organization on 5/10. This will be my 3rd year with the team. In my two years on the team, we've done about 127 birds in the 24 hour time frame. This is more of a fund raiser, we're not really in a category we can win unless all the other teams get wiped out like the shrimping fleet in Forrest Gump. I just did a loop of Texas bird watching where I hit Big Bend and the Davis Mountains. If you're going to be near Marfa, I think it's like maybe 20 to 40 miles to McDonald Observatory. I understand they do star parties on Tuesdays and I think Friday and Saturday.

I got a chuckle out of Jimmy Korderas talking about Big Show sitting in on his traveling group's card game and him getting hot when someone accused him of pulling shenanigans with his shuffle and Korderas going "I didn't see nothin' I'm a referee."
