  1. Few months before Mania 9, Brutus came on RAW stating he was going to make a comeback from the para-sailing accident. Money Inc came out and talked shit, they signed a match for DiBiase vs. Beefcake next week. Beefcake and DiBiase had their match, with Brutus wearing his mask, and it ended with IRS getting involved and hitting Beefcake in the face with the Haliburton. Hart thought it went too far and ditched Money Inc to help Beefcake. Couple weeks later Beefcake and Hart bring out a partner to go after Money Inc, and its Hogan. Hart manages both until they all leave after King of the Ring 93, then Hart followed them to WCW. It was actually a pretty good angle, save for Hogan getting himself the WWF Belt at the end of the night.
  2. So, what was the Network announcement that Cole pimped in the first hour? I haven't gotten to watching the rest yet, and haven't seen any mention.
  3. So I was wandering around Amazon yesterday, and found the Legacy collection, which has every game in the Metal Gear series available for PS3 for like, $40. I'm pondering it, I just don't think I have the time to go through and replay them all.
  4. Yeah, but it was just so obivious that none of those guys in the 87 match (Midnights and RxR's) wanted to be involved.
  5. So I'm watching Starrcade 87 for the Network Viewing Club, and I really need to know... Who the fuck ever thought that a scaffold match was a good idea?
  6. Yes, the players have blame, because some are playing half-assed, and just getting by on the "We're United players who won a title last year". And that's the reason that there needs to be a big squad turnover this off season. But to absolve Moyes is wrong. Yes, his players are sandbagging, but he's sending the same lineups out, using the same shapeless, basic tatics every game, he's not commanding any authority on the squad, he's not making adjustments to counter what opponents are putting out against him, he not changing when someone is visibly dogging it, and he's not holding players accountable for dogging it. He's a shitstain of a manager who isn't managing. He's spend the first half of the season just putting 11 guys on the pitch lined in a 4-4-1-1 and relying on the Shirts to win, and when that didn't happen, he's done fuckall to adjust. He's still just lining up 11 guys in a 4-4-1-1 and letting them go run around and hoping that inherent skill covers it. And its on him that the club is sandbagging. Point blank, not one person in that fucking changing room would ever DARE play they way they've been playing with Sir Alex in that technical area.
  7. In theory, yes. That'd give RVP and Rooney some space to work in, since without Kompany, City's back 4 is suspect. However, since United's midfield forgot how to play midfield and fancy themselves forwards, it fucks up RVP and Rooney's game. However, they're playing in Trafford, so unless they put actual wingers and not use Janjuaz and Mata wide, they're fucked there.
  8. Yeah, like we're beating City this year.
  9. AC4 is probably the best AC game since 2. Size of the world is huge, the sailing is not bad, with easy stuff moving down into harder. The world makes sense, the controls are fine, although the combat isn't as tight as 3's was (which was the one thing 3 really got right). They fixed a lot of the problems 3 had with having to seek down side stuff (you can turn it off if you really want). The only problems I'm having is with the follow this guy/ship missions, but everything else is good. Also, even with Edward's almost singlemindedness in the quest for more money, he's still a better developed character than Connor. Edward is going the side stuff because he does really believe in the idea of Nassau and free men and stuff, and is taking time from his fortune hunting to do stuff that really is for the betterment of his allies. Whereas Connor was pretty much focused on "I NEED TO KILL CHARLES LEE!!!!!" and everything he did re:The Revolutionary War was more means to an end then him upholding an ideal while he waits to get his shot. There's more weight to a couple events with other characters late game with Edward than there ever felt like there was with Connor and Achilles.
  10. If United get knocked out of the CL, and when City beats them next week, that's the end of Moyes. This team has looked like utter shit, and yeah, the team's not playing well, but its on Moyes that they've made no adjustments, that the midfielders look lost and are constantly playing in front of their forwards, and his fault that he keeps playing central attack midfielders wide and wondering why they're not playing well. I wanted to give Moyes a chance because "In Sir Alex I Trust", but fuck, I've been spending the whole season watching United playing the same damn way, making no damn adjustments, and getting tatically outplayed by everyone up and down the league. No amount of money and squad turnover is going to fix the biggest problem, and that's Moyes is really no damn good. Seriously, watching Moyes coach is like watching that dude that's been using Match Engine expliots in FM for years, winning everything without ever changing up tatics, then the past two years when the engine was fixed, using the same damn shit then bitching on the forums that the Engine is broke because his exploit tatics don't work and he has to make adjustments because the rest of the league is kicking his ass, and he wants the exploits back in rather than adapting to the game.
  11. Cameron backlash didn't really start until Titanic, which as pretty as it was, and that it strapped a rocket onto the backs of Leo and Winslet, was a shit movie. Its bank revolved solely around teenage girls wanting to see Leo in what they thought was a "romantic masterpiece" 26 times in an era before YouTube, DVD's, and Facebook, and guys taking their girlfriends to see the movie hoping to get at least a handjob for putting up with 3 hours of that crap afterwards. Then he didn't do much of anything else aside put his name on a half decent show that got Jessica Alba on everyone's radars until Avatar, which was just a complete rehash of Dances With Wolves/The Last Samurai with a huge budget. No one really bitches about what Cameron did before Titanic, which were all solid movies (Piranha 2 notwithstanding) like Aliens. Now, yeah, Scott and Cameron had different visions of the Xenomorphs. Scott went to Geiger and created something that wasn't just scary, but it violated you in every way before you died from it. Cameron took it a step further and made them SMART. It wasn't just a hive structure with only self-propagation in mind, but they were highly intelligent. They learned through trial and error. You have to watch the Special Edition to fully get this. In the original cut, the Xeno's came through the ceiling during the big battle near the end, and it was implied they did it because they couldn't get in because of the barricades. Where in the Special Edition, you see its because they were being stopped by the Sentry Guns (which they didn't know ran out of ammo, but they didn't take the chance), so they needed a way around. The Xeno's were hunting the second the Marines landed. They hid, they came through the ceilings and floors, they blocked your escape, they cut off your method of exfil, the Xeno's were the devil incarnate. And then there was Ripley. There are some that like to argue that Princess Leia broke the "females are only damsels in distress" in Star Wars, but no, it was Ripley. She set the bar for bad ass female in sci-fi, and not many not written/directed by Whedon have come close.
  12. Considering the success of the Shield and the Wyatt's, using the 6-man tag format to bring guys up and get them aquainted to the main audience isn't the worst idea in the world. Also gives more guys that are just eating up space on the roster and barely see a match on Main Event a chance to get on TV and have something to do
  13. This. Its like, as much as I know, every logical sign points to 72,000 people doing YES! chants along with Bryan while he raises both belts as Valkryes blasts as we go off the air, Its like 10 years ago... I'll really believe it when it actually happens.
  14. You think the bloom's coming off the rose for the Attitude Era now, just wait for Monday Night War to start, if its running the concurrent RAW and Nitro's.
  15. This is tough. I went Nakamura totally to make it slightly closer since it shouldn't be a blowout.
  16. Gotta hand it to Moyes. It takes talent to make 6 teams better at the same time.
  17. Fuck this team. Fuck Moyes. Fuck this shit. 3-fucking 0 to the fucking scousers.
  18. That entrance alone is grounds for Nakamura to win the whole damn thing.
  19. Li, not Lee. And he really was Born to Defend.
  20. "The game let me beat it without too much heartbreak" is pretty much exactly what I look for, just also add, "and made me feel like a badass". Bah, you kids today have no appreciation for being rewarded for button mashing and memorizing patterns and strategies to be rewarded with an awesome, albeit poorly translated, storyline with a happy ending that leaves one feeling better about life. You just want your hand holding QTE checkpoint every 5 steps cakewalk that "rewards" you with a story that looks pretty but leaves you feeling as hollow and empty and sad as the story itself was, all because its the "hip" thing. Get off my lawn!!!!1 Oh, and Badass levels are EARNED, not given!
  21. Nash might not get his long title run while Bret does midcard fueds with Lawler and Backlund (cool as they were). Most importantly, the Attitude Era never happens so long as Bret's calling the shots. Also, lack of push might hurt Hall and Nash's power to draw, making the nWo irrelevent, since that was all lightning in a bottle and couldn't be recreated with just any old people. Course, ECW still exists, so eventually Vince and Bischoff will poach talent, and start copying ideas that worked in that vacuum and apply them large scale to some degree of success, since the whole thing needs to evolve or die out. Although, you'd have to wonder, without the nWo and bleeding money under Bischoff with the live Nitro's getting thumped by RAW, how long does Turner give Bischoff before he gets fired and someone else gets put in.
  22. If an IWC discussion goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will bring up HHH. Henry O. Godwin's Law?
  23. It has improved tremendously. Easily one of the fastest turn arounds from near unwatchable to regular viewing. Its got a ways to go, but they're finally giving everyone what we've been bitching about all along.
  24. Well, Tanahashi is the most "paint-by-numbers" NJPW guy in this here tourny, so Reigns should go over. But Tanahashi *is* NJPW's Cena, so yeah...
  25. Honestly, I think the list of who *hasn't* been in TNA is shorter.
