  1. In 20 years we're going to have stories of how Dean and Roman were on the indie circuit calling each other Punky and Hoots and talking about how when they got to the territory, it looked like a bomb scare but they got there, shot an angle with Team X and the next week people were hanging from the rafters.
  2. Cena definitely did a lot of good work looking back. It's just that a lot of that year was mainly forgettable to me now due to Lashley flaming out and Khali having been largely irrelevant for years.
  3. I watched Vengeance 2007 last night (the infamous Benoit no-show ppv) and I'd totally forgotten that Mick Foley was in the main event. I'm now looking back at ppvs from 2007 and most of that year is a blur to me. I can't remember much of what happened in the WWE that year past Wrestlemania.
  4. So it takes you two hours to get from Sporting Goods to Menswear?
  5. I hate when any product uses shit like that or made up terms and stupid gimmicks. Bud Lite using "drinkability" and Miller Lite with their "vortex necked bottle" or whatever the hell that was.
  6. Damien Sandow aka Davy Crockett aka Lance Stephenson might disagree with you on that last point.
  7. Sometimes I wish they do ppvs that occur in during non-football months on Sunday afternoons.
  8. Not really random. Paul E. had brought 2/3 of the original Midnight Express to JCP (Rose and Dennis Condrey) and they were feuding with Cornette & the Easton/Lane ME. Chi-Town Rumble was the blow-off to the feud, but Condrey quit before the event, so they slotted Victory in as a replacement. No one knows why Condrey quit. Rumor was that Condrey found out he was going to be the one to eat the pin and leave the territory (match stip was the man pinned would leave the territory), but Cornette says the plan was always for Rose to leave and Condrey would have gotten a singles push. Yeah I know it was the blow-off. I meant it was random in that I was just scanning for stuff to watch and just settled on that for whatever reason. Condrey was weird, did anyone ever find out why he left in 86?
  9. Isn't that second quote from Jericho's first book? Something that happened to him in Smoky Mountain.
  10. In the weeks after Cena vs. Bryan at SummerSlam 2013, the commentators would refer to it by that. The debut of the running knee has to be one of the best debuts of a finish ever putting down JOHN CENA for a clean as a sheet three. When Hogan was going for the legdrop against Rock at WM18, JR said, "he beat Andre the Giant with that move!" I think "The Legdrop That Beat Andre the Giant" sounds pretty badass actually.
  11. Let's start in the last 10 years. From an in-ring perspective or kayfabe perspective, name a stable that was more successful then the SHIELD. Now try 20. Now try 30. No try ever. The only answer I can come up with is the Horsemen. The Dangerous Alliance.
  12. I do wonder what would've happened if Dr. Death won like everyone thought. How would a run of Austin/Williams (or Williams/Williams) matches have turned out? Austin sure as shit wasn't going to be taking any backdrop drivers. Do we get all of the Kane/Undertaker conspiracy with Mr. McMahon stuff?
  13. Would he be the youngest non-fat guy wrestler ever to have to wear a t-shirt ala Flair on the last Nitro?
  14. Bob Holly talks about it quite a bit in his book too. He said that the Bart Gunn/Butterbean match was promoted under BFA rules but behind the scenes, Bean would only fight if it was straight boxing pretty much ensuring Bart had no chance. He also said that Blackman would've won the thing in a walk but tore his ACL training.
  15. Buried Alive during the Austin/HHH match. Lawler had some great one-liners there too. "Don't you hate it when Vince goes, 'one two hegothimnohedidn't'? Don't you hate that JR?"
  16. I'm watching this random tag-team match from Chi-Town Rumble 89. It's The Midnight Express/Jim Cornette vs. Paul Heyman/Randy Rose/Jack Victory and I'll be damned if Cornette wasn't actually a pretty competent wrestler. He actually bumped around pretty good for a guy with two destroyed knees and he was good at getting the crowd fired up.
  17. Aye, Harper was. Luke Harper's one of my favourite WWE wrestlers this year with Daniel Bryan, Bray Wyatt, the Shield and Cesaro. Luke Harper is the best total wrestler in the US today. Hands down. He has a character. He has moves. He has good matches. He is completely out of his mind. He is a hoss. His shit looks legit. He is scary. He doesn't do promos, but why should he? Luke Harper #1. Actually, Luke does do promos. He's a great secondary promo guy who gets to say awesome stuff like, "You boys picked a beautiful hill to die on" and other stuff that just adds to his cult follower gimmick. His stuff against Ohno on NXT was really good, too. There's no need for him to command the stick because he's Bray's lackey and Bray's the best. But he's really good at heightening what Bray's saying and looking like a total monster. Luke Harper, Best In The World is definitely something to consider. Harper is really good when he does get mic time. I love when he does the creepy whistling. I really wish he would do the "yeah yeah yeah" Gator Roll thing but I guess it was getting him face pops so he dropped it.
  18. Piper and Hacksaw cheating at the Newlywed game is glorious.
  19. What if Yokozuna actually joined The Hart Foundation?
  20. I googled ways to fix it and deleting the cache and turning off auto save seems to help. For whatever reason, going to Camp McCarron always slows my game down. I guess maybe the monorail?
  21. It really is amazing to listen to Lawler and Striker. Striker would make some point about how since both he and Lawler have been in the ring, they could both relate to something going on (adrenaline helping you get through pain, how move X hurts so much, etc) and Lawler would either reply in a tone where you can almost hear him thinking, "I've been in wrestling for 40 years and you used sick days from your teaching job to wrestle, we have nothing in common" or he would just flat out ignore him.
  22. Anyone have any tips on handling the game freezing all the damn time? It happens way more than in FO3. I read that turning off the Auto Save helps. Anything else? Also, I had Rex as a companion and now he's not around but people react to me sometimes like he's there.
