  1. How many threads will this be posted in? Probably quite a few. But I think this is the first one.
  2. Either Downey doesn't want to, or they've decided his character works better as the snarky number 2 character who constantly undercuts the lead. Or both.
  3. I read another Lee Child book, Never Go Back (which apparently is the one the second Jack Reacher movie was based on. I'm sure I'll see them at some point, but I'm not going out of my way). It was OK. I liked the bit where his internal monologue was discussing how they needed a vehicle that would be inconspicuous in rural Pennsylvania, and the pickup truck they were driving was perfect, because an alien observing the planet for the first time would assume that the cornerstone of the American economy was it's inhabitants ability to transport 8'x4' boards across great distance, in vast quantities. But they're mostly... you know how literary fiction is often 40% the writer showing off what a great writer (they think) they are, 30% the writer showing off how much research they've done, 20% the writer showing off what a great set of characters they've created, and 10% the actual story they're telling? Jack Reacher books are like 75% story, 20% look at my awesome character*, 5% research, and no showing off at all. I also read Tony Robinson's autobiography, No Cunning Plan. Surprisingly little about Blackadder and Time Team, surprisingly a lot about everything he's done that most people wouldn't have heard of. And lots of centre-left politics about how Trotskyists ruin everything. Like a lot of left-wingers, he dislikes other, different types of left-wingers more than he dislikes right-wingers. * Just the one, mind. Other people are mostly plot devices. And the character is a bit of a Mary Sue. Would it kill him to have someone else be the one with the knowledge of Victorian Romantic poets? Yes, it would. Jack Reacher must know everything about everything. And if anyone else knows anything, they only know because Jack Reacher told them.
  4. I'll only knock it down to easy if the trophies aren't divided by difficulty level. Unless I'm planning on doing it twice or something.
  5. Don't Colleges work their players' heights and weights as well? I'm sure I've heard of guys who before the NFL combine were expected to be high early round draft picks (due to having great speed for being 6'3" and 250) and after the combine being tipped as low and late, or undrafted (due to actually having pretty good speed for being 6'1" and 220).
  6. That was Spud's real hair, when he was growing it out to start the Rockstar gimmick. Which originally looked like this: But then he went on Snog Marry Avoid and got given a BBC3 makeover. Excuse me, makeunder.
  7. Of the English teams, Man City has the most favourable situation - they can't draw Bayern, Real, PSG (same pot), or Barca (same group), or for that matter Arsenal or Leicester (same country). So they can only draw Atleti, Juve, Napoli, Monaco or Dortmund. And yeah, there's no easy draws in the last 16, but there's tough and there's tough.
  8. I wouldn't be surprised if she was 5' 10" legit and they billed her at 6' though. For the same reason that any male wrestler who is 6'8"-ish is billed as a 7 footer, and 6'5" guys like Abyss are announced at 6'8".
  9. Assasin's Creed. But we might as well call it The Da Vince Creed because it looks about that stupid. And also, you can't have someone say "Welcome to the Spanish Inquisition" without the response being something about not expecting it. Any fule kno that.
  10. Random thought not in any way inspired by anything that's happened recently at all: See if your first name was not gender specific, like Sam or Jo or something (or if you were homosexual): Would you ever go out with someone who had the same first name as you? Or would it feel creepy, to be saying your own name while making the loving? I mean, I know someone called Paul who's wife is called Paula but that's different, that's a male/female version of a name. I'm talking the exact same name.
  11. Last Guardian commercial with no gameplay for some reason. Is funny though.
  12. A Horsemen retread with Bobby Roode? Been done: AJ Styles is not the same height as Matt Morgan really.
  13. Thinking about it, is there a possibility that they've got rid of Lita because the Hardy men are coming in soon, and they want to avoid any unpleasantness?
  14. So actually she just manipulated the situation at 135 to get her way into the big company, when she really never intended to fight in that division? That's pretty clever. Can't hate a fighter for being smarter than Dana White, can you?
  15. Lawler was very terrible and kept his job for decades.
  16. To be in one of the greatest TV shows of all time is impressive. Peter Vaughn was in 2 of them. If you ever get the chance to see Our Friends in the North, take it. It's fantastic.
  17. Well, if she can't make weight because she can completely dehydrate her body to the point of near death and still weighs 136+, then she's too big for the division and should be campaigning for a 145 title, or she needs to drop some muscle mass. Whereas if she's physically capable of making 135 but repeatedly fails to because she refuses to diet or cut properly (or because she's intentionally going in overweight to get an illegal advantage in competition), then she's just an arsehole.
  18. CM Punk, Chris Hero and possibly Bubba Ray Dudley have posted here too. Also Jacey North and American Kickboxer for quite a long time. And a few yarders who wanted to let us know we've never been in the ring. Although almost all of us have been in a backyard at some point.
  19. So Lawler is too old to be on TV at 67, and Lita is too old to be on TV at 41? It's beginning to look a lot like sexism.
  20. When you say Vincent, do you mean Virgil, Russo, or McMahon? Because in a world where WCW is on top and WWE is out of business, you bet your ass Vince McMahon is a former TNA World Champion. Looking at the festive period telly mags, it seems the final Impact on Challenge is on December 18th, which would be the Dec 15th one (we're three days behind). That's the Hardy compound edition, right? Because I'd hate to think that they'd lose TV without that airing. No word on a new UK TV deal yet, obvs. It's a different landscape now from when they made the jump from Eurosport to Bravo (the Challenge deal is an extension of that, Bravo got shut down). Fewer players, and they've antagonised the biggest one.
