  1. Found it pretty strange that they promoted the Punk documentary like that. Thought they wanted to stop people from chanting his name, that's not going to help matters. Was also kind of expecting Sting to show up in the Flair segment. Going by their reaction, that would have been huge. You could hear them go "Aw, fuck that!" when they saw it was just a commercial. But holy fuck, that Sting commercial gave me massive chills. Always one of my favorite themes ever, and I was delighted to see him appear on WWE TV. Other than that it was a good show. Main event was okay, but I could use more Cesaro/Big E matches in my life. Also, Dolph with that huge smile was a big win. If there was ever a "Giggety, giggety, alright" face that was it. Oh, and if the Rollins injury is real then that really sucks. But if it was a work then what a stupid idea. Ambrose coming back would have done wonders for him. Bad idea.
  2. I've been binge watching ECW TV. So far I'm a quarter into '94 but it's pretty interesting. I've enjoyed seeing how Dreamer started as the pretty boy, and surfer Sandman is a sight to see. And I never really cared for Public Enemy, but I've gotten a huge kick out of them. Really want to just fast forward to when they ditch NWA and things really take shape, but I'm more often than not enjoying the episodes. Oh, and that Matty in the house guy is a fucking tool. God, he's annoying.
  3. I still remember the first time I saw him do an enziguri in Japan. My mouth hit the floor so hard in amazement. He can definitely go, and I am beyond excited to watch these.
  4. Not sure if I ever posted this, but this guy does chibi versions of wrestlers. And thankfully he has a shirt store. There's lots of good gems. http://chibiwrestlers.spreadshirt.com/ Here's a pretty good example:
  5. Welp, there goes $20. Trying to not get the King of Swing shirt, but it's so darn tempting.
  6. I know that they'll go with any sponsors they can get, but I just saw Adam Cole and the Briscoes tell us to stay tuned for an ad from SuperBetterProstate. Yeah... Really enjoyed this week's ROH TV. It was a documentary-type piece about Elgin and it made him sound like a really big deal. Was cool seeing some of the past matches.
  7. Oh, and here you go for your listening pleasure while watching that Cornette gif:
  8. But nowadays I'm like: Oh, and this (thanks to Botchamania, I now hear "Slam Jam" when seeing this:
  9. I'm a fan of a good entrance and like seeing that. I don't get really disappointed if they don't do that, as long as it leads somewhere. I'm fine if some moves are not in there, and I like when they do something other than their finisher for the win. It shows depth. For the actual match, anymore when I read "get their stuff in" I think of it as egotistical in this day and age. If you're doing a bunch of matches be it weekly TV or on indy shows, you need to know what to leave in and what to take out. If you're in a small crowd and you have to do something like a 630 degree splash every match then you need to rethink what you can do. For Flair I can see his point, but it's a different landscape from now.
  10. Oh, I love the Vaudevillians with all my heart. I feel they should only come out when Regal's con commentary. He added much to them that without him there I wanted to mute the announcers and concentrate on the match itself. Becky Lynch was great to see. Really glad Knox finally has a shot, bless her. Just want to mention as she's doing her dancing Sasha and Charlotte are awesome ringside. They talk, then decide they're going to dance a jig as well. I need a gif of that so badly, I cracked up at that. What's cool about Lynch is that she has some quality opponents she can work with. Her against Charlotte, Natalya, Emma, Paige, etc. would be wonderful. Sasha would be a good heel for her to work with as well.
  11. No, it's a fucking awful movie. Jenny treats Forrest like dogshit, and if Forrest is lucky, then he's treated like an afterthought. When Forrest finally gets his girl, it's only because she's dying of AIDS and she wants to dump her kid, which may or may not be Forrest's, off on him before she dies. She doesn't love Forrest, she only wants to keep using him. None of this even touches on the exploitative nature of the film as we all go HAHA and AWW at the simpleton on screen for 2 1/2 hours. I just feel empathy for Forrest because he gives his heart and soul into so much and that's really all he knows. What does he get for those efforts? He gets to watch a kid that may not be his and he gets to think that he's finally won over Jenny when she has so little time left. He doesn't even get to enjoy a life with her. Well, shit. When you put it that way it is fucked up. My interpretation of it does indeed vary from that, hence why I posted that. But I don't feel I'm alone in that by any means. Though now I might have to rethink that movie, at least that theme I was going on about.
  12. Well, shit. I never watched Buffy, but your post caused me to see this clip. My wife's dad died a couple months ago, and I can certainly understand that. Pretty much any of the WWE ads promoting being a dad (the ones with Del Rio, Roman Reigns, etc.) are hard to watch. I wanted to show my wife the one with Roman singing "I'm a little teacup" thinking it's funny. Well, let's just say that didn't work out like I hoped. Johnny Sorrow hit the nail on the head. I'm only 31, but I get emotional on certain parts more than in the past. I didn't cry at Vickie's Eddie tribute, but came damn close to it. The first 10 minutes of Up is a given. That was the hardest I wept in the past couple years seeing a movie. I can only imagine now and in the future how I'd react to that. I saw it another time and had to force myself to not cry. Luckily I was distracting myself by putting up the Christmas tree so that helped. The Futurama episode with his dog Seymour is too damn sad. I saw it one time and can only see it once. I'll toss in "Forest Gump". I loved the movie, but the one thing that just killed me is when Jenny died. They grew up together and went through all that and then it ended like that with him a single dad. From her being on her deathbed onward that was about it for me.
  13. I think that was covered on the main wrestling discussion topic. But it's still cool to see that. I present to you the NXT video blog. I get a bit of the ROH video wire vibe in this, but not completely like that. Want to see what Bailey does all day? How about Aiden English at a bookstore? Here you go. http://www.wwe.com/videos/playlists/nxt-video-blogs
  14. I've been a wrestling fan since 4 years old, but have always followed WWF, WCW and to some degree ECW. Japan and elsewhere was never in my mind, and I didn't really branch out until 2001. Seeing a whole new world of wrestling to check out I've never knew about was purely wonderful. As for tapes, never traded any but did get the deathmatch tournament in Japan that featured Cactus Jack/Terry Funk in exploding ring final. That was from some anime store. That, and the Super J 94 from Highspots. But this was before Youtube and the only way for me to see this was to buy the tapes. Good times. I definitely want in on this. I've seen some Japanese wrestling, sure. But I never saw these matches and I think it's time to take care of that.
  15. So we have Dean rising from the dead, Superman taking flight, and a Conehead. That's an amazing set of gifs it there ever was one.
  16. Went to MCW last night. Nothing like seeing a show outdoors where people in townhouses can just sit on their roof and watch it. And Ruckus doing his entrance with the priest looking not pleased led to unintentional comedy (lot is owned by the church) Also for whatever reason the guy who freaked out huge after Taker lost at WM30 was there. The main people there were Rikishi, Christopher Daniels and Matt Hardy with Reba Sky. Rikishi has been doing MCW for a bit and he's still not too bad nowadays. He's teaming with another Samoan wrestler and the people love them. Daniels teamed with this Greek guy named Papadon. The whole point of Papadon was to shamelessly appeal to the crowd in Greektown, and it didn't get over. Decent match, Daniels didn't do much aside from the BME. And Hardy is the MCW champ and was in the main event. Surprisingly good match with a lot of near falls. He was total good guy doing his Version 1 schtick. But there was still that one ROH guy talking all kinds of shit to him. So after the match he was saying more stuff and Hardy just said "Thanks for buying a ticket" and sarcastically waving. I don't care for Hardy, but he's pretty good at fucking with those that hate him. All in all it was a good time. I just love that I could walk two minutes from my place to get there, so that makes it even better.
  17. I need to see the rest of NXT. But I went out of my way to watch the Vaudevillians. I am fucking GIDDY over this team! Regal talking these stories on top of everything makes this my possibly favorite act on NXT. It's so, so great and so over the top. I did see some of Tyler's match and it was good for him to work the headlocks and such in on Kalisto. Can't wait to see the whole match. If I can truly multiask and watch both, this with Impact in the background is going to make Impact much easier to sit through.
  18. I wonder if Sullivan did that before Hogan came in, or after just to fuck with him.
  19. Road Warriors, Bulldogs, Tsuruata/Tenyru, and Twin Towers are my picks. This was easier for me to vote on. I just can't vote for Benoit for obvious reasons, yet I don't have any issue for others that do.
  20. So I went for Bret/Owen, Misawa/Kobashi, Los Guerreros, and WCW Hollywood Blondes. That is in large part due to I've grown up watching and just voting without much thought to them. But I thought about it and realized I could and maybe should have dropped one team for another. Bockwinkle/Stevens and Rude/Fernandez are ones I now really wish I could pick. I'm hoping more people vote for them. If I have to really think about stuff like this in the later rounds I'm going to be so torn on voting.
  21. Oh, I must know who that is. Those are some awesome moves. The second gif looked like it hurt with him hitting the side of the ring. Ouch. EDIT: Forgive me, didn't pay much attention to 90s Japan.
  22. Hogan had pyro in WCW also. And I swore I remember Cena having pyro a couple times. That might not count though since the one I remember was for when he rapped his theme live.
  23. Forgot to put this up around the time it happened. Went to an MCW show a couple months ago. Jake Roberts was there doing autographs and to my surprise a match. All things considered he was great. The DDT didn't have the snap it used to, but I was happy as anything to see it anyway. He got the mic after the match to talk to us. Started recording a minute into it. This was before the HOF speech which was much more meaningful and tear-inducing than this. But still really cool to see. Hope you all like it as much as I did. Also, this is my first time linking from Google Drive so hopefully it works. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9voLQW0VTW_S0JITE9INlBLaVE/edit?usp=sharing
  24. Yeah, no. Doesn't matter what device you're using, your issue is your bandwidth (*NOT* speed. Speed and Bandwidth are two different things expressed the same way) either at your end, or at some hop somewhere. WWE Network uses the latest codec and streams at a max of 720p30 for bandwidth considerations. Yes its a step below TrueHD, but its enough for the layman's definition to be considered such. They do, infact, use the same multi-stream method of sending different resolutions in the same stream that YouTube and Netflix uses. If you don't have the bandwidth (720p30 needs around 1.5-1.9 Mbps consistant), then it drops you down a quality. The difference is that WWEN doesn't give you the option to pick a resolution, it just does it automatically. That's why stuff starts looking grainy or choppy. They cleaned it up. Trust me, I have plenty of bandwidth and clean hops from the OnDemand servers so I haven't had a quality issue. If you're getting crap quality, you have a bandwidth bottleneck somewhere that's killing your quality. If you have Cable broadband and watch it in the evening, there's your problem. You get the same results because its the same signal heading to every device. The reasons we were all getting/still occasionally get issues with different devices is because different devices decompress/decode slightly differently, even using the same codec. There were also minor sync issues at the start, most of which have been ironed out. Appreciate that. If possible I'll try at a friend's house who is supposed to have better internet than I do here. The option to choose video quality would be nice though.
  25. What system are you guys playing it on? Mobile device, gaming console, Roku, etc. Curious about trying that if possible.
