God damn it. That's one that hurts.

Goldust is what, one of three or four guys on the roster that gets chants?
-
That they are Jaxon Skywalker and Lilandra Solo? Or whatever terrible names they come up with. I look forward to Dank's multiple meltdowns that will be coming over the next year or two. Now if he was your lab partner, that would have been something.

She had done a fairly decent job with Joffrey even, as well as anyone could be expected to do.

Extended Universe. Also Max von Sydow is pretty cool. I wonder if they can just buy up the rights to Ming.

I THOUGHT WE WERE COOL!!!!! X-Box Gang 4 life, yo. Pwning n00bs, cause we YOLO! Bray Wyatt's gotten to him! He's speaking in tongues.

I wish Jeph Loeb was in charge of the DC animated Universe instead.

Gregg needs to sum up all of this into a crazy manifesto and see if Meltzer or someone will run it.

That thing looks like the best Choose Your Own Adventure ever.

We're all friends here.

I think the episode covered that pretty well. Tommen is younger, more pliable, less of a dangerous sociopath. "They" (and "they" is tricky here since there are various people with various goals) still want Margery to be Queen.

I think it was sort of an opportunity thing. IT wasn't 100% that the opportunity would arise, but if it did, they would be prepared. Joffrey's such a blowhard and the people involved are so damn savvy (with, potentially, multiple people trying to achieve the same goal) that it was a good plan, even if not a foolproof one.

I think the first five minutes of Ebert's commentary is necessary listening. There's such a light going on moment when he explains the first tracking shot and the table moving and you sort of get that part of the beauty of Kane is all of the things you could never know just by watching it, because it all looks so flawless when so many of the tricks used to make it so are completely invisible and were absolutely novel for the time. ------ i almost hate saying it but I think my favorite commentaries are the Lord of the Rings writer ones. It's so fascinating to me how they rationalized making the changes that they did and the sheer level of care and effort that was put into rearranging all of it, like it was some piece of music.

Since the ref didn't see Roode go through a table, it didn't count and the match continued. I'm so sorry that you know that.

It's actually really good too.

That's one of my favorite interviews ever, but that's a weird place to go looking at that list. -
You have strange thoughts about religion, brother.

Lash is an interesting case. I don't think anyone thinks he was great or anything, but he sort of had a campy charm, and for someone who badly wanted WCW to win towards the end, as a teenager, he's one of those guys that it was hard not to have some affinity for. He felt somehow very WCW-y, like the Gambler or Roadblock. He has a fairly good shoot interview, which is also sad since it sounds like the guy wants to contribute somehow, anyhow, and it's not really happening.

I'm pretty sure the last time I heard his voice was on WOW. Last I heard his voice was on the AWA set making one of the Hogan vs Bockwinkel matches almost impossible to watch. But the guy died, so let's say something positive. Or try to. Look, I'm glad Lee Marshall was part of wrestling. He had this "weird uncle who happens to be a used car salesman" vibe that adds just a little more color to how strange and surreal wrestling is. You need guys like him or like Pettingill or the Duke of Dorchester or Jackie Stallone or Tom Peterson in Portland, just these people that wouldn't seem like they fit in almost anywhere else, but that make up part of the three ring circus of wrestling. You get enough of them and anything at all could fit in, anything carny or outdated or impossible. It's one of those things that make wrestling special that you'd not see in something more legitimate. It's why wrestling will never fully make it out of the bingo halls or whatever, no matter what Vince tries. Someone like Lee Marshall will always exist and you'll be going along, thinking that everything is okay, and then you'll catch him out of the corner of your eye and you'll remember, just for a moment, how deeply strange and weird this entire enterprise is. -
You figure anyone who cares enough to pirate Avengers 2 would want to see it in the theater.

I think we are almost past the point where people complain about death not being permanent. Almost.

He's a one time nostalgia burst for people who remember things fondly from when they're 16 and have a lot more disposable money than they used to. -

I think there's a place for Sting. I think you could build to one big celebratory match with him. It shouldn't be at Mania. It shouldn't be with Taker. It should be with someone who can bump for him. It should be set up as a Network only special, maybe a sort of WCW One Night Stand special (Call it Clash of the Champions). It should be to coincide with the launch of Nitro and the Monday Night War show on the Network. it should be almost to draw lapsed WCW fans to get the Network.I think they should actually do Bryan vs Sting and put over Bryan but Cena vs Sting would probably draw more interest.
