  1. After rewatching, there is no way to beat the FUTEN match. As much as I love bloody Lucha brawls (this is like Sophie's Choice for me), FUTEN wins. Go out of your way to buy the IWRG match from Black Terry Jr. and go out of your way to watch the FUTEN match. You will not be disappointed either way and you need to see both.
  2. It was as solid as expected. No bitching about closed fists from JR and Barnett was air-tight on covering holds and moves as ever. The match is my complaint, and you can read about that in the other thread if you want.
  3. That would probably be a better match than what I just watched.
  4. WORLD PRO WRESTLING 1/13/17 WRESTLE KINGDOM 11 -- "SIX STARS"... FEATURING OKADA AND OMEGA. AND JOSH BARNETT AND JIM ROSS Well, to start, the Terminator gimmick is way more fitting than "the Cleaner". Gedo apparently wearing leggings/hose or something is funny. Now it's time to lay back and let the next hour unfold, for better or worse. Verdict: WORSE. I was with this until Okada decided to just go on offense after eating the most violent missile dropkick to the back of his head ever. I stuck around through the exploding table and the Avalanche Dragon that should have ended ANY match. And then after that they just spam us with legit finishers for another, what, 20 minutes? Any single one of Omega's knees would have ended any match. This isn't Crossfit wrestling, it's superhero wrestling. They could have went with a story about Okada's back and instead went with All Japan '90s headdropping, only with better strikes. Don't get me wrong, it was plenty entertaining, but the best and most painful spot (out of a thousand) was the simplest one: Omega bodyslams Okada back-first into the apron. And that was well before they went batshit. Overkill defined, this one; enjoy it in bits and pieces.
  5. Remake Trespass with Diesel and Statham as the firefighters. You pick where to fit in the Rock. Dirtying him up and making him the bum would make me laugh my ass off.
  6. Hold up -- since I haven't been able to watch the regular episodes airing due to work, what is Lucha Classics? Are they just gonna replay the best matches from the previous seasons?
  7. Hey all, Omega/Okada is playing on AXS TV tonight at 7 PM Central and reruns after the LFA card sometime later (supposed to be 11 Central but who knows). Just a heads-up. Ishii/Naito's playing the hour before.
  8. REMINDER Tonight at 7 PM Central is Omega/Okada on AXS TV. Prior to that is a replay of Ishii/Naito. Both replay after the first ever LFA card airs as well, timeline on that cannot be exact because they might either go over or under.
  9. I caught some of Hooper last year but sadly missed the ending. RockNRolla was again on TV too and though it's not as good as Lock, Stock... or Snatch (I still haven't seen Revolver, is that worth searching out?) I dig it a lot. Dunno if I could make a top ten as my memory is shot, but #1 with a sword of the classics I finally got around to last year has to be Lady Snowblood. Bless TCM for dropping such randomness on the airwaves.
  10. Wait til you get Vampiro creeping out on commentary. He makes Striker sound innocent.
  11. He was also the villain in this piece of '80s Charles Band trash
  12. Wasn't Chiraq supposed to be pretty good? I don't dig musicals so I haven't watched it.
  13. Not to speak ill of the dead, but The Exorcist was a pretty awful novel. It's a good thing his screenplay was up to snuff.
  14. Hmmm, maybe he decided to get one in before going back to Japan. This was what I read on Wiki Either way, long as he's back it's good news. Now, what matches of his should I watch? Now that I've got all this net time I can actually check some out.
  15. You misunderstand the depth of our masochism on here Now if someone actually went out and WATCHED it...
  16. Yeah, just ridiculous. And I don't really care what anyone else thinks, Idiocracy got like one total laugh out of me. On top of that I even had an, er, medicinal reason to laugh... but didn't. No wonder I didn't know who Dax Sheppard was!
  17. Clearly. When there are enough dick jokes in your trailer to rival a Bob Saget standup...
  18. I don't even know who those people are haha. Guess I'm out of the loop. My picks were Isiah Whitlock Jr. (obviously), the gal from SNL who I cannot remember the name of, and what looked like a cameo from Idris Elba. EDIT: Maya Rudolph. Vincent D'Onofrio is in this too? And also, Vida Guerra?! And iMDB reminded me who Kristen Bell is
  19. Seriously? How ironic. How did that happen btw?
  20. Good lord that looks atrocious. I counted three, who were your picks?
  21. FYI, Doering successfully had his brain tumor removed and returned to the ring this month in All Japan. Yay for him!
  22. I don't know who was supposed to watch it around Halloween (J.T.?) but here's the full length for Jorge Grau's great underrated zombie flick from '74. As it so happens I was listening to Impetigo's "Breakfast at the Manchester Morgue" and that reminded me. Highly recommended film (and song, for that matter) Also, XX looks awesome
