  1. ...and in more horrible news (albeit some that isn't very surprising), Kim Fowley of rock-manager-huckster infamy has finally been outed by Jackie Fox of the Runaways of being a rapist, 30 plus years later and after his demise. If anything, the Cosby situation influenced her to open up and hopefully will open up others to be honest about their own plights. http://highline.huffingtonpost.com/articles/en/the-lost-girls/
  2. Exactly. One fan was just stupid enough to SLAP HIM ON THE BACK when he ran into the crowd there. I wouldn't expect to get my arm back.
  3. Stallone in Cop Land stomps the shit out of anything Arnold's done acting-wise.
  4. Terry had a whole chapter in his book about driving with Dr. Graham. Jerry jumped in a bathtub full of ink because he wanted to dye his suit, got so drunk they had to put him in a U-Haul in the back because even Harley refused to take care of him, and while they were shooting ducks Dusty told Jerry to go get one out of a lake and he jumped in like a hounddog and brought it back in his teeth. Beat THAT.
  5. Oh shit, I'm confusing tag teams. Neither of the two AWESOME Cobra/SSM matches from the New Japan set are online so I just threw those up thinking that was Cobra. EDIT: Well hey I did find this. Didn't make the '80s set but has to be better than some of the excrescence filling out the bottom of it. At least there's a super young Iizuka. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x15p46l_takano-super-strong-machine-c-vs-choshu-iizuka-njpw-07-13-89_sport
  6. Pretty good news! But still people... VAMPIRO. ON. FIRE. C'mon, make your whole worthless career legendary, Mr. 30-Time Champion.
  7. Here's one I stole from a friend's external hard drive recently that I never heard. Hexx was from the Bay Area and were initially traditional/power metal, moving to power/thrash, then to full-on death/thrash. This is their last album and is quite the ripper. Not as fast as their SF mates Sadus but close. I really need to check out those earlier albums. I posted this in the metal thread awhile back but here it is again. Totally awesome. Features Felix from DRI on drums (!). Sound nothing like DRI.
  8. It's a step, anyway. I still have to see Planet of the Vampires, Kill Baby Kill, Five Dolls for an August Moon, all the peplums... okay, I have a lot more to watch.
  9. A great tag team, Hirata and Takano, SSM and the Cobra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Bxpb54BMwY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbJptkvoTpo
  10. I believe on the Forever Hardcore doc, Joey said he was employed by News Corp back when he was still working for ECW. I'm sure he has certain skills they desire in that case (take that how you will)
  11. "My sole purpose is to destroy." - Pentagon Jr.
  12. Okay I am DEFINITELY writing this up, just based on Robert marking out. Lucha Underground Report 7/8/15 WHEW I'm spent.
  13. *ahem* To keep this thread METAL, as in the kind of metal where the only time you gaze at its shoes is when it kicks you in the teeth with a pair of steel-toed Docs, here's a newer band that I've been digging on, Gravehill from Anaheim. Weird mix that I can't quite pin down. I hear Autopsy, Destruction, Aussie war metal (sans the blasts). They proudly proclaim themselves death metal but aside from the Autopsy influence, I wouldn't immediately pin them down as a typical band from the genre, which is a high compliment from me. Their second LP is what I played in the car on a stormy night tonight back from work and it hit the spot. Follow the tracks as they switch, starts with your typical intro EDIT: Oh, and if you sit all the way through (or skip forward), they have a buried secret cover of AC/DC's "If You Want Blood (You've Got It)", which is the only time the terms "pitchshifted death vocals" and "AC/DC" have ever come together.
  14. Ha, now I'm imagining Sheamus adding to the hair and dressing all Road Warrior. Or maybe just like a real Celtic Warrior (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is on TV right now so I'm thinking something like that).
  15. The extent of Dolph's reading material is probably Maxim and whatever that fitness mag was that had Vince on the cover. And his scripts. Burgundy's right, they shouldn't have went with the easy sell. "Everyone knows they're together in real life! And besides, the audience expects them to be even if they aren't, right? Because Lana's too hot to just be smart." EDIT: Muscle and Fitness, duh
  16. Along with a massive fine, Selleck should be forced to cut his mustache like he did in the mid-'90s... but FOREVER. "No mustache for you!"
  17. Well, SGB just filled out the quotient of all the films I forgot to mention
  18. Cujo is one of King's favorite adaptations (he called it a "bad mother") and once they get past the family crap and kick it into gear, it's a killer. Too bad they changed the crucial part of the ending from the book. Black Cat has next to nothing to do with Poe; it's a psychic horror film that's actually pretty good and fairly subdued for Fulci. Can't wait for Danger: Diabolik to fill out my missing Bava credits!
  19. Going to a legit Kosher deli is still on my bucket list so this is definitely on my watch list
  20. Yes, we know, it's awesome. My psuedo-apology was because I'm such a horror fan that I immediately thought of that instead of any drama, because yeah it is awesome. And keeping on that tip, regardless of what you think about the actual film, something else that looks absolutely awesome (scenery/locations/makeup/costumes/lighting, everything): The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. It says BEST looking. Not prettiest. And I think Scarface is a strong nominee for period setpieces, color, costumes, and camerawork too.
  21. Bolo Ray sprinting with three broken ribs is just flat out stupid to write into the script.
  22. I watched the segment today and was afraid the axe was gonna bounce back and pierce Brock with the pointy end. But then, even a fireaxe fears the Beast, I suppose.
  23. 1983's Austrian film Angst is getting a re-release. I've never heard about this before now, but I'll be damned if it couldn't have been shot last year from the looks of it, both in tone and cinematography... pretty intense, to say the least. Apparently a big influence on Gaspar Noe of Irreversable infamy. NSFW if you didn't guess
  24. Bram Stoker's Dracula immediately came to mind for some reason. I know, I know.
