  1. Via FB: English clubs named for overly-literal interpretation of their badges. (The definitive link.)
  2. Maybe the finest "old, crazy Flair" moment ever.
  3. Best part of V1 was Crash's entrance video with the Mattitude timing out.
  4. So Dank, was Livingston's payoff worth it? Because daaaayamn.
  5. Kinda looked like he was trying to sling it out of bounds and looked surprised it stayed in.
  6. Anyone else want to see Schaub pull off the comeback win, wait for the fans to start cheering him and give them the double-bird as he walks off the field?
  7. Ha! As Fox gives up on the Skins...
  8. Bills punt for ONE YARD off a botched snap. I'm taking any entertainment value I can get from the game at this rate.
  9. The Duke band just played Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls." All righty then
  10. Ah, I remember those jokes. "What's the sound made by 300 pounds of shit hitting a wrestling ring? KWAAAAANG!"
  11. The story about him and Preston Steele in Steel City will always crack me up.
  12. Looks like that isn't Pirata Morgan but his mini- Piratita Morgan. Note he's only working other minis (Mascarita Sagrada, Aguilita Solitaria etc).
  13. Few of you might remember my friend Mayumi, AKA "Puro Girl," so called because she was a big fan from growing up in the Philippines while NJPW was doing berserk TV ratings there. The night Eddie won the title I was on the phone with her and mentioned the title change. "Eddie won the World title. EDDIE GUERRERO. WORLD TITLE." Too damn funny.
  14. Just found out that my company is holding a meeting at Hogan's restaurant in Tampa next month and JIMMY HART is one of the speakers. We are through the looking glass.
  15. Ray and I saw Chicky over the summer at this deeply underwhelming lucha show in Queens. He was the highlight of the show by a country mile, the epitome of the aging veteran who may be into his 60s but can still fuck shit up if he has to. We could watch him brawl with Damien 666 all the live-long day.
  16. Even worse was that they replayed the injury on Nitro the following night, completely uncensored with barely any warning... and the announcers had so little credibility at that point that no one even believed them. "Yeah yeah yeah, Sid's horrible injury. Pull the other leaaaaAAAAAAAHHH FUCK OH GOD WHY ARE YOU SHOWING THIS?!?!"
  17. Laughing and crying at the same time. Yep.
  18. I remember bringing the Japanese magazines to work with photos of Spinks in FMW, and the older black dudes I worked with were so depressed at seeing him "throw the fight" for schmoes like Beritchev.
  19. Burning through the Proopcasts now that we're seeing him in Brooklyn at the end of the month. The politics stuff can be hit or miss, but everything up to it really is like having a live hour-plus-long comedy album every week. The Edinburgh panda bit literally had me throw my head back and laugh for 30 straight seconds like a fucking maniac on the subway last week.
  20. The Tonya Harding deal was during his AAA heyday in the early 90s. We also got Eddy vs Low Ki which was tremendous since you could see how much respect Ki had for him. It wasn't his usual MUST-DESTROY-OPPONENT setup... he worked light as a feather by his standards.
  21. Oh, that's pretty sweet. It will be pretty hard to live up to all of the hype he has gotten this year. Indeed the marathon of live college basketball has begun. On right now is Wichita State at home vs. Western Kentucky. It started at midnight Wichita game but there isn't an empty seat in the house. What likely will be the highlight of what I am able to see from the marathon: two gray-haired elderly ladies passing a can of Rockstar Absolute Zero between each other and one of them examining the can like, "What in the hell AM I drinking?" For posterity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_Wjzg-iH4w Speaking from experience, the elderly women at Shocker Missouri Valley games do not screw around. There was a bluehair in a wheelchair that sat near us for a couple of seasons that yelled some of the foulest things I've heard at a sporting event. FTFY. Those schools are incredibly passionate for basketball and the alumni never lose it... one of my favorite basketball memories came when we beat DePaul in 1993 for the first time in 40 years and one older dude behind me and the radio booth literally passed out. Awe-inspiring.
