  1. The stuff up to Savage Six is pretty good. Haven't read anything else yet. This is disappointing news, but not surprising. Really wish Flash was in another book not named Thunderbolts. I would have preferred him in Avengers to Spider-man if I'm being honest.
  2. Affleck as Batman just feel wrong. I don't dislike him as an actor or a director. I just don't want him as Batman.
  3. Chances of WRESTLE-1 doing well after their first few shows are low and its more about how long one might be able to wait the other out. Like I said its a stretch anyways. The AJP brand would be worth more and easier to build up.
  4. This was a great interview. I thought it gave some pretty cool insight into how HHH is running things. I really loved his last comment working with Lesnar.
  5. I can see preferring Yamato over Soya, but KAI and Sanada just make no sense to me, especially considering the former is quite terrible at the moment and has actually devolved as a wrestler.
  6. Honestly, no, Mutoh didn't get the better half. What he did do though was basically manage to get Kondo to follow, take a Kono who was becoming a solid hand, and steal almost all of the damn young wrestlers (Inaba, Sanada, Nakanoue, KAI, Yamato, at least two other rookies). All that said I wouldn't say he got the better half considering Burning, Suwama, Doering, a KENSO that gives a damn, & Soya all stayed. These were the guys pretty much putting on the best matches the first half of the year before the split. One of them. There was also a former indy wrestler who joined and was going through the training system like Raijin did. So a theory STRIGGA from purolove and myself have is that Mutoh may just be trying to wait out Shiraishi who will hopefully either get bored in a maybe year or see AJP's business failing and be forced to give up the promotion. Otherwise its odd that they have no plans fro titles in WRESTLE-1, and there is really no way Mutoh could keep such a place running long term. Its a light stretch and may just be wishful thinking, but I just find it odd. Even timing of Motoko Baba's asking for the Triple Crown belts back seemed off.
  7. Glad to hear continued praise for the Chicago stuff. I'm curious, is the Chicago arc something you can just dive into or would it be best to read what comes before it? As far as Batgirl goes I actually think its a good deal better than most give it credit for (only read the first 2 volumes). The problem is more that it isn't the Batgirl book many wanted. I believe the stuff you're talking about should be placed in vol 3 which comes out in October. I look forward to reading it when it comes out. DC has been slightly annoying with how slow they put out trades of the New 52. I don't even think any third volumes are released until next month.
  8. Didn't even think of Ditch's page. Thanks for pointing it out.
  9. Read Nightwing Vol 2: Night of Owls. The Night of Owls two-parter with Dick taking on his great grandfather who became owl was solid though unremarkable. The story with the Paragon and the Republic of Tomorrow had potential, but it it never really rose to a level above decent. It actually felt a little similar to what Tomasi did in Batman and Robin with Terminus and co. Can't help, but wonder if both stories couldn't have benefited from Higgins and Tomasi combining their ideas and giving them a little more time to develop. The final was the New 52 original of Dick Grayson. For the most part its pretty much the same story its always been with Dick being probably around two or three years older. The writing is perfectly fine though I'm not sure it was a story that needed to be told since it really didn't do anything new. Honestly the most interesting thing going on in this volume was probably the overarching plot in the background focusing on Dick trying to do something meaningful for Gotham and Haly's circus along with his highly awkward relationship with Sonia Zucco. Overall this was decent, possibly even better than decent read, but so far Higgins writing has just been very unremarkable. His first story was far tied to Snyder's Court of Owls story while he had a solid idea in the Republic of Tomorrow that he either wasn't able or willing to give time to. It worries me a bit since he is taking over my Batman Beyond which the first issue in print has just come out today. Hopefully the Chicago arc I have seen people speak highly of recently along with BB can help to heighten my opinion of Higgins' writing.
  10. That was nice, much more enjoyable than the last Andre/Inoki match I watched a few years back as Inoki was more giving here.
  11. I actually watched the match with Strong Kobayashi last night. It bored me a bit with the length and Kobayashi who was a kind of bland. That said, I did enjoy most everything Andre was doing. I really wasn't expecting him to play the kind of character he did, but he did a fine job of it and brought out the most interesting parts of the match.
  12. The topic from a month ago asking about big men better than Mark Henry made me interested in watching some Andre matches. He is someone I like, but have never seen too much of. What are some worthwhile matches of his checking out? I have seen one or two matches with Killer Khan and the Hansen match.
  13. Finally watched the show outside of Kane/Wyatt. Pretty much loved it on the whole. Not a bad match in site with one really good match in Del Rio/Christian and two great matches in Cena/Bryan and Punk/Lesnar. Have to agree with Lesnar/Punk being MOTN and a MOTYC. I'm not really a punk fan, but he was fantastic in his match aside from that terrible diving elbow. his is easily his best performance in WWE outside of that last match with Cena back in February.
  14. Who was STARDOM's other top star that left along with Aikawa? I can only guess he is maybe talking about Yoko Bito who was clearly being groomed for an eventual top spot. That said that was also probably a few years away and there were at least three others bigger than her position wise. Yeah, I was talking about her. She was clearly going to be the future of the company with Yuz. I didn't even know Showzuki left. That's a shame, but that's sadly Stardom's luck these days. She resigned due to her injury. If she is ever healthy enough again she will join back up with Stardom.
  15. http://gawker.com/jett-jackson-star-dies-in-apparent-suicide-1167288890 This is pretty disappointing to hear. I always enjoyed him in whatever roles I saw him in.

  17. I actually think Statham would work fine as Rocket Raccoon. Not sure why people are talking about it though as I'm pretty sure the director ruled him out a long time ago.
  18. Really digging his Thor run. Have you read the end of the Gorr/Godbomb arc yet? I thought it was pretty fantastic. Aaron's Thor is the best comic I'm currently reading from Marvel. I really loved the levels he brought Thor to in this arc and how it all played out as a mythological epic.
  19. Been reading the Jim Valentino Guardians of the galaxy for the past week. Up to #20 and so far I like it. The series does a decent job developing the universe and various races and threats the group comes into contact with. I also really like the group dynamic and growth Valentino gives to various members like Vance, Aleta, and Yondu. Nikki might be my favorite character int he series. I love her spunk and general personality, especially with how she screws with poor Charlie. I'm kind of disappointed with the direction Valentino went in for mutants in terms of them pretty much dying out as a species and the few born being evil. I did enjoy the stuff with the Protege and the Universal Church. Also dug the return to Earth and changes made to the planet during the Guardians absence. Looking forward to reading more.
  20. Beat Etrien Odyssey IV earlier in the week. I dug the advancements in the game even if this was a little on the easier side compared to the last two games. Pretty fun overall though its been a while I haven't beat an RPG this fast (around a month).Rented Tomb Raider a few days ago and had a blast playing it. The story and gameplay feels a little cruel at times, but the controls were nice and I adapted to them faster than usual. This was my first Tomb Raider game, and I loved it. I particularly love how the story seems to be about Lara growing and toughening up into the badass I expect future sequels will have. Turned it in today, but I will definitely be playing it again at some point in the future.
  21. So with the roster announced so far are there actually enough guys to recreate 40+ WM matches?
  22. Not sure why people are mentioning recreating Owen/Bret as there was never a chance in hell Owen was going to be in the game anyways. I'm pretty sure that isn't the full roster as a ton of names are missing, and the game wasn't supposed to affect the amount of current roster members in the game.
  23. Finally watched Battle Royale last night. Been putting off for years and I don't know why as I ended digging it a good deal. The characters were decent enough, and I enjoyed the general motivations behind them despite how quickly the poor bastards were getting picked off. Had no idea Takeshi Kitano was in it. I found it all the more enjoyable whenever he was on screen. I'm a little surprised at the comparisons people made to it when Hunger Games came to because aside from the young people being forced to kill each other they are fairly different films in terms of directions and character motivations. I noticed the film has a sequel. Is it worth checking out?
