The Cody Rhodes/YB All In Show Thread
Jenalysis replied to ChesterCopperpot's topic in FEDS JUST TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK
I'm wondering what comes after this. How many of these shows a year could they do? Could they even get the talent they had, and get a promotion out of it if they really wanted to take a risk/be ambitious.- 906 replies

Looks like mask vs mask is gonna happen at some point.

Marty's shtick is annoying, but it's over. Sabre's glass jaw as mentioned above is why I could buy Okada winning after all the armwork. Okada's had some really good matches with the midcarders like Sabre and Sanada lately. Sabre would be well suited as a tag guy in NJPW if Suzuki-gun didn't have KES.

There are so many guys who could be face of the Division that Despy gets lost in the shuffle behind Osprey, Kushida, and Hiromu , and the Japanese crowds love the Villain shtick so Marty gets his shots ahead of Despy as well. Taichi going heavy was the best thing ever to happen to Despy.

SMACKDOWN LIVE TO FOX, OCTOBER 2019
Jenalysis replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
The FGC is the pro-wrestling of E-sports. (seriously, and Kenny/Xavier has little to do with it) -
Hiromu vs Despy is a must-watch and MOTY candidate for NJPW this year. Great hatefest.
-
I always felt Truth Martini was ok, good by today's meager manager standards.
-
I still remember Sid's Crippler Crossface.
-
Marty at least had a good rant at the press conference, and Hiromu's scrapbook was hilarious.

It's an official New Japan show, though it's gonna be a split show due to the UK that weekend. Kenny Omega competes at that event consistently. There's a lot of crossover between pro wrestling and fighting games. I know Naito, Juice, Ibushi, Hiromu, GoD, Taguchi, Jeff Cobb, Dragon Lee, Chase Owens all booked as well. 16 total forgot everywhere who is going to be there.

He's gonna be a new dad. I'm sure this is the end of Tana being any sort of main eventer.

you can win by knockout in a no DQ, if both dudes are knocked out, it's still a draw/no contest.
-
And the fans that would be behind that- I think most of them would rather see Rusev be fired and end up in NJPW instead.
-
Another factor is east coast folks can get their fix with CEO, which hasn't announced matches- but Kenny, Ibushi, and Naito are draws. Got my tickets today thanks to registering for the tourney (they gave entrants 1st shot at tickets)

The Woods/Severn match that they showed at Wrestlecade last year was really good- I think those two would have good chemistry together.
-
I'd give Nak a white Miho Abe who just fawns over him and treats him like a sex symbol. If they could talk, I'd have her try to make the crowd feel sexually inadequates- call them all incels or something.
-
They let Chase Owens in, just make him Chase's cousin.
-
Titus probably got himself another year of job security due to this.

Attitudes were very different in the early 90s than today. I also suspect Cornette might have changed in his beliefs a good bit- I want to believe that, and I believe in giving people benefit of the doubt if it's realistic- and it is. I'd love to see Cornette back it up by stumping for some Dems on the campaign trail in the Smoky Mountain/JCP areas this year.

https://twitter.com/CEOGaming/status/989565046723407872 For the East Coast folks- the CEO event goes on sale May 4th , May 3rd for those attending CEO. 8,400 seat Arena. CEO folks will probably be about 800-1,000 of that 8,400. Kenny Omega and Liger are confirmed.

Ishii/Henare and White/Finlay were so much better than you'd expect- surprisingly strong show tonight. Wouldn't find having Finlay go on an excursion to come back in a year's time- would be better for him long-term than floundering around in the lowcard.
-
Also- the ownership of NJPW is children's card games. Not exactly the evil league of evil.

Cornette's been pretty critical of Sinclair as well, some of that is reigning in expenses (Sinclair's also notorious for penny pinching), and I wonder how much is political with Corny as well (I'd guess Cornette and ZSJ are pro-wrestling's most famous liberals/socialists)
-
There was a viral youtube vid about 30 or so different Sinclair stations spewing out a rather blatant propaganda piece that Trump wanted, followed by some Sinclair folks saying they hated to do it, so Sinclair's a boogeyman right now. Sinclair is considered one of Trump's strongest allies, so it's being politicized (and Sinclair is legitimately awful- I will not attend a ROH show due to them as long as Trump is president)
