  1. And yet, Greece has won more major senior-level International tournaments in the last 50 years than England.
  2. Not sure whether or not anyone else on here is a fan of theirs, but 3 Inches of Blood have called it quits. Per their Facebook:
  3. Which is why they won't catch on for consoles, and developers should just stick to PC. Also, the type of control scheme required for the genre is better suited for keyboard/mouse than the comparative limitations of a gamepad.
  4. Holy shit. I've had a feeling that Sri Lanka cricket was a bit of a shit show ever since the e-mails between Kumar Sangakkara and the SLC board from 2013 were leaked, but this is a completely unheralded level of dodgy behavior for a sporting organization.
  5. Eden Styles stated during the ring introductions that the match can only end when one opponent literally says "I Quit". This is some Hogan beating Vader in a strap match by dragging Ric Flair to all four turnbuckles-level shit.
  6. Anyone get the Way of Life DLC? If so, is it worth it? I've read a lot of mixed reviews.
  7. In the current WWE environment, a more likely scenario would have been Bieber going over Bray clean with a Stunner. Followed by everyone defending it because a five second clip of that moment gets plastered all over the Internet, the Today/Tonight show, etc. for a couple of days (because getting non-fans to tilt their head in the WWE's direction momentarily before dismissing it completely in short order is genius booking strategy). Then Bieber gets celebrated on the board as the best celebrity worker in the history of our great sport and wins March Madness.
  8. Something tells me that you probably aren't the target audience of the show.
  9. Given how offended some people seem to get when someone doesn't enjoy something in exactly the same way as they do, should there be separate threads? One could be for Raw discussion (which allows for both highlighting what worked AS WELL AS measured criticism and posts that go beyond "FUCK YOU IF YOU DIDN'T LIKE THIS SHOW"), and the other can be reserved for universal praise and Divas fan-fiction.
  10. There was something oddly-endearing, in an MST3K kind of way, about the commentary team of Kris Kloss and Larry Rivera. Not to mention the great acting provided by the pornstar valets in the numerous vignettes. But yeah, Homeless Jimmy, Webb, Kaos were actual highlights of the promotion as far as in-ring performers, and it's unfortunate that they never really amounted to anything outside of XPW.
  11. In even more WTF news regarding Bradford City (at least to me, maybe you were already aware of it, Natural), there's this: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/apr/15/bradford-fire-stafford-heginbotham-martin-fletcher
  12. Hopefully this isn't in violation of the board's charter, but as virtually-thieving teenager, I definitely listened to my share of these: http://nesthq.com/best-of-keygen
  13. Nathan Jones is going to be one of the villains in Mad Max: Fury Road. WWE should totally bring him back for a main event run.
  14. This just in: Ronda Rousey to become as big a star as Hulk Hogan and revitalize the industry due to having appeared in both a wrestling ring and having had a bit part in a movie!!!
  15. I don't think it was necessarily a mistake to feature her, but only MMA fans on this board are assigning a 20-second clip of her in the ring featured on ESPN way more importance than, say, Mickey Rourke punching Jericho several years ago. It was a blip on the mainstream that was forgotten as quickly as it appeared to 99% of people, outside of those in the MMA or wrestling bubble. It won't generate any additional fans of the WWE from those who weren't interested before, but neither would have the battle royal or tag title match. My big issue is that once again, Stephanie gets away without any repercussions for being a total Bonnie Steamboat. Even when she does so face-to-face with THE BADDEST WOMAN ON THE PLANET~. Steph is by far the most protected person in the business, it's a total joke.
  16. Like Gina Carano and Haywire, right? The MMA bubble-heads are acting like she's the top-billed cast member of Furious 7. She isn't even featured in any of the advertising. IMDB has her listed 21st in the cast list. She apparently is featured in a fight with Michelle Rodriguez and gets less than 10 minutes of screen time.
  17. OR [pointless wild speculation bullshit]!
  18. Nah, you can get fucked. For all your strawman arguments over the last few weeks about how fans of other wrestlers bitch just because their favorites didn't win, here you are shitting all over a finish that was decidedly more over than Roman in the ring with confetti would have been. Stop throwing your toys out of the pram.
  19. "Enough about the main event angle and its potential ramifications, the result of which will dominate 85% of WWE programming over the next year! Let's talk about this barn burner of a Divas non-title tag match that will likely go for all of seven minutes!!! Bellas! BELLAS! BELLAAAAAAAAAS!!!"
  20. Yeah, because the same production crew that made several front row fans change their attire is above muting crowd reaction that is unfavorable to their golden boy.
  21. Apparently for ebbie, a Bellas match needs to descend to rarely-reached Trish/Bradshaw vs. Gayda/Nowinski level before it's worthy of criticism.
  22. This is where your view point falls apart and gives off the impression of blind zealotry even if it isn't true. You are complaining about the degree they are pushing Reigns while saying they should have done with Bryan. It makes no sense. The issue should be that they should have been treated the same. Everyone complains about the bad booking of Cesaro. It is something that should be fixed across the board. That is how you get people over. Reigns is one of the times they are actually getting it right. Should be done more often. It only falls apart if you are rating Reigns and Bryan on even footing for some reason. Bryan has already main-evented Wrestlemania, won the World Title twice, and had established himself as the most over face among the majority of the crowd. Reigns hasn't even been active as a singles wrestler on the main roster for a full year.
  23. I don't want to choose sides, but I think a sports hernia is an injury that is regarded as routine, treatable, has a consistent timeline for recovery and no potential lingering effects. Bryan's neck injury had none of those things. I think you are comparing apples and oranges a little bit. When you compare Bryan's injury to other major neck injuries, like Edge, and Kurt Angle, the treatment was pretty similar, with a note regarding the surgery, but no real mentions on air after that. Austin?
  24. One contradiction in regards to the WWE booking strategy in regards to Bryan and Reigns that irks myself is that when Bryan got injured, it was declared proof that he wasn't the guy and couldn't be trusted as the ace, and they had to move on. Yet when Reigns got injured shortly thereafter, they basically put everything in traction with total filler angles (i.e. Bella vs. Bella that was retconned within a month or so, Cena vs. Authority rehash) until he was healthy enough to make a return so that they could push him to the moon again. With Reigns, we had regular updates on RAW how his injury was healing, and continued reminders of how popular and great he was. Meanwhile, Bryan was in the mainstream media for celebrating at the World Series with the champions and made news headlines for foiling a burglary, the WWE was silent. This is a company so starved for positive media exposure that they were hyping Eva Marie and Cameron for being on the E! pre-Oscar Red Carpet coverage that was being broadcast at the same time as one of their PPV events, yet they did all they could to ignore Bryan receiving attention outside of the WWE. There isn't even a point in discussing the Superstar of the Year voting. It's not blind zealotry and Bryan fandom that has people annoyed with the degree to which they are pushing Reigns. It's frustration with the fact that Vince is digging his heels in and trying to push his vision with a guy that just isn't clicking with the audience (at least not to main event caliber), while seemingly going out of their way to cool off others who like Cesaro (I'm talking pre-affiliation with Heyman), Ziggler, even Orton. What's the rush on making Roman the guy right here and now? If he's the future of the business, then you can afford to cultivate an organic following.
