  1. Would 100% pay to watch either Arisa Nakajima or Tsukasa Fujimoto against Cobb.
  2. I hope there is an evil power mind controlling the Smackdown locker room.
  3. While checking Twitter to make double sure that Soberano's stretcher job after that great match with the NGDs on Friday wasn't an actual injury (I'm actually still not 100% sure?), I saw that this Soberano/Bandido match exists. They go to war with each other but also with the concept of ringside chairs and people sitting in them. It's pretty great.
  4. Man, Yehi vs. Riddle from Evolve 95 is soooooooo good. The don't quite stick the landing all the way at the end, but it's still one of the better Evolve matches of the year. Riddle's brought some new intensity recently; not just like yelling louder but, in certain situations, going a little faster than usual on a knee strike, or closing down quicker to get to a guy for a suplex; I'm really into it. I was wondering a few months ago if he had plateaued a little, but I think he's still getting better. Yehi is wonderful.
  5. One other really weird thing on the commentary is Graves has staked out his anti-Elias stance - which in and of itself is fine, I guess, the heel announcer doesn't have to love every heel and it would make sense for Graves to not love struggle acoustic balladeering - but then Cole is supportive of letting Elias sing, which, like, why?
  6. Yeah, I think this a great point and I'm with it 100%. If Asuka immediately gets dumped into a 50/50 feud I'll be upset, but if you're gonna have a real division I honestly don't see the point in having her squash Emma. She's not a supernatural monster, she's just the best, and even if she takes some offense, her offense being so high impact still leaves her looking super impressive. Plus, like, I don't want to get too controversial here, but I think good matches between good wrestlers are good and I want more, not less of them.
  7. How is it a scummy bait and switch if it was what most of us expected?
  8. 100%. Say what you will about most of that main but wrestling about friendship is the bessssssst.
  9. It's 2017 and Tsukasa Fujimoto might be getting even better and smoother.

    #205LIVE

I finally watched that Dar/Alexander I Quit match and man oh man was that fun. I was not expecting Cedric to go so far into Good Guy Pushed Too Far mode but I am super glad he did.
  11. I guess that won't go down as an all-time great aniversario, but I still feel tremendously spoiled to have had that be my first Mexico City live wrestling experience. I got to see my fav Hechicero kill it in the opener (and even eventually tracked down an Hechicero t-shirt and keychain outside); Negro Casas is just great pretty much whatever he's doing, and the Zeuxis/Sugehit match ruled. I wonder if you showed the main event to someone with no context at all for it if they might really dig it better than those of us following lucha? Even with that disappointing build, tho, it was really a pretty fun match. I sat directly next to the hard cam, which was a pretty great seat, except for the fact that I also sat directly next to a dude with an air horn. I'll sacrifice the hearing in my left ear for Zeuxis and Hechicero and the NGDs tho.

    Twin Peaks

I'm not sure that continuing after that loopy ending would make much sense (though maybe Cooper is fated to continue 'til infinity and not-continuing would make just as little sense), but I loved The Return enough that if Lynch announced another season tomorrow I would be nothing but joyous.
  13. Agreed (at least on it being second best so far, if not on what's ahead of it). Dakota's bumping is terrific, and I thought she helped Ripley along to a really good match.

  15. Yeah, totally. Should have written "use her as more than just a jobber".
  16. It's definitely not good, but I have to say that with the quality of the wrestling and the crowd noise it didn't really mess up my experience all that much. I'm not saying we shouldn't expect the biggest wrestling company in the world to provide better, but I've watched enough indie wrestling videos with shrill screaming and unfunny inside jokes as commentary that generic JR is pretty easy to tune out at this point.
  17. Man, that Jazzy/Abbey (it's so weird writing that as their names) match was such a good classic size mismatch match, terrifically executed. That was my favorite first round match by quite a bit, and I really hope they use Abbey in NXT (Jazzy too, but I was kind of assuming she was just in for the tournament? Would love to be wrong on that).
  18. Went to the House of Glory on Friday night and it was totally worth it for the ring announcer trying to get the somewhat exhausted (Riddle was injured and they didn't announce it until after his scheduled match, same old song, can't be disappointed if you just expect it going in, etc) crowd hyped for the main event with the really quite sad yell of "DO YOU HAVE TIME FOR ONE MORE MAAAAATCH? I SAID, DO YOOOUUU HAVE TIME FOR ONE MORE MAAAATCH?"
  19. The women's title match was wonderful live and I appreciated it even more on a rewatch. I was afraid going in that the crowd didn't care enough about Ember to make this work, but they put on such a great match that I think it was undeniable. The start was super intense, and then Asuka's arm work was the most she's leaned into that kind of cruel, wrenching submission work in NXT. Ember's athleticism really shone, especially in the way she can make a lot of her different strikes (this is helped by Asuka's bumping, obviously) connect for what really work as tide-turning moments. That was a really special match, y'all.
  20. I need to rewatch that; obviously you just like Roode matches a lot more than I do in general but while I liked it ok I think (in person) it was like my 4th favorite match of the night.
  21. There's a lot of shit to skip, but the women's title matches and the tag title matches are worth a watch for sure.
  22. I thought the finish on that main event was a little flat compared to the super-intense first half but still, so much of that made me so happy.
  23. I was so sad last year when they were trotting out Almas as a milquetoast babyface against Amazing Entrance Song Bobby Roode, so it made me very happy that he was able to have that awesome match that the crowd got super into by the end this year.
  24. This is very possibly an annoying question, but, for those that like him, like, what are the good qualities of Adam Cole I should be looking forward to when he comes to NXT? I was out on ROH for a good long while until the few months leading up to Final Battle last year, and have only caught some PWG here and there and he seems like a decent heel for an otherwise fairly standard indy movez guy: is there anything I'm missing? Anybody wanna recommend matches?
