  1. The "One Warrior Nation Man Army" challenge is a jerk and I don't like its face. I can't get more than 6800 points after about 30 attempts. How do you string together criticals in the batmobile? Is it just using the vulcan gun and aiming for the li'l purple lights on the tank drones?
  2. Wambach is the most American American. The goose story is awesome.
  3. He's 100x better than the generic person they had play Gordon in Origins. Man, I did not like that game. As a whole, the voice acting is superb so far. Another great thing that they clearly learned from previous iterations: AR Challenges are integrated so much better into story mode. They earn you Wayne Industry points which you use to unlock attacks/gadget/batmobile/suit upgrades. And they're located within the game world too. I never touched the challenges previously but now that they're integrated have an impact on your campaign, fuck yes. And they're pretty damn fun too. I feel Ligerbusa's pain on that initial batmobile on the rooftop mission. They could have made it clearer that you're supposed to use the winch to get across the gulf. I must've dropped 3 times before even getting there and then I tried just making the jump the old fashioned way about 4 or 5 times. Still, it helped me get used to the car controls, as pressing square/x for brake wasn't something I'm used to. The mapping makes sense in the end because using the shoulder buttons for battle mode is way more sensible. I went from being stuck on the last lap for a good while to completing the AR challenge at 40 seconds pretty quickly. I feel like there's a frustrating learning curve but once you get over it, it's not too bad. Yet another nice touch: all of the challenges have leaderboards, so you can see how much better 90% of your friends are than you at this game.
  4. I remember being so hyped and then that shitty CGI mesosaurus popped out of the water and my heart sank a bit. Fuggit, I enjoyed it enough that I'm seeing it a second time with peeps who'll be watching it for their first time. I'm excited.
  5. Battle mode is ultra responsive in terms of car movement but the aiming is a bit tough. It may be that I just suck at it though. Basically, the enemy "unmanned" tanks have a laser guided attack and the laser will turn red if you're in their line of fire, so you need to quickly move out of the way. You can hold both of the right shoulder buttons to spam the machine gun turret and the rockets. If you inflict enough damage without taking any, you can use lock on missiles which are heck of powerful, so pretty much like the special attacks you unlock in hand-to-hand combat. It's not a bad system at all. Not the best thing either and not very Batman-esque in terms of style, gameplay, and morality. You can run dudes over so hard and while when you are shooting baddies on foot, your weapon automatically turns to rubber bullets. Just seems a bit much. That and the fact that it's yet again a game with no civilians are my only qualms after spending 3-4 hours with it. The story is slow to get started but I'm liking what I've seen. Another neat thing: you can pick up discarded blunt weapons from thugs and use them! I was kind of shocked the first time I had Batman pick up a lead pipe and use it on a motherfucker or six. I love how they hired the voice actor who played Lee in the Telltale Walking Dead game to play Lucius Fox. Markout moment for sure.
  6. This game is fucking incredible. The combat flows much nicer, your attacks do more damage, counters are easier, and there's a sense of control of where you're going next that was lacking previously. In general, the combat is so much better. Holy shit, the fear chain attacks for predator scenarios are unreal. I love the city they've created as it's got so much more detail and character. So do random jabronis. Like every police officer at GCPD has a name and 2 or 3 lines of dialog. The batmobile is pretty great too though I can see how moving around the city with the upgraded grapnel launches would be more efficient. Combat in the batmobile took some time to get a handle on but it's not bad once I did get the basics. The first Riddler challenge was rewarding as it took a handful of attempts to get that last lap down. Then there's the graphics. This is the best looking current gen release from what I've seen. I wasn't digging it the most from the trailers but seeing the '60s Adam West suit shine in the light instantly won me over. Beautiful, beautiful game. All the attention to detail and all the little nuances really show the passion and dedication Rocksteady has for this series compared to Warner Bros. Montreal. TL;DR: This game is flippin' great. Play it. Love it.
  7. Does anybody have a gif of Vince running on his knees towards Trish from that angle?
  8. That's some good drama right there.
  9. I think I would actually be on board and watch along if you were to do a Clash marathon. I haven't seen most of them, particularly the earlier ones, and I know I love me some NWA/WCW zaniness.
  10. I don't think he'll come out looking to end the fight quickly. He'll probably take his time, enjoying the fact he can slowly pick apart McGregor for 25 minutes and get paid to do it. He's seemed pretty rattled by some of Conor's shenanigans but there's too much riding on this for him to get careless. As much as people were blowing this off when it was first made, I think it's an excellent pairing beyond all the talk. While I think Aldo wins and wins convincingly, it wouldn't be that shocking if Conor catches him with something fierce and takes it. I'm excited for it.
  11. I like McGregor's skillset but I just can't see him beating Aldo. He's done a great job earning himself and the UFC a lot of money in the build up (and the UFC has ridden this as hard as they possibly can) but he's going to get obliterated. How he builds himself up after this will be the interesting part. The one thing Conor has going for him is size.
  12. So, remember in Fallout 1 when it was pretty much a guarantee that poor li'l ol' Dogmeat would get blown to bits violently by super mutants? Fallout 4 is going the other direction, as Dogmeat cannot die.
  13. It certainly does happen in franchise and it's a legacy bug. That's been a thing for years and I can't believe they haven't fixed it yet.
  14. I've been playing it on an iPad 2 and it crashes all of the time. I'll probably just wait for it to come out on Android.
  15. I feel like this generation of consoles will finally win me over when/if the next Red Dead game drops. So, it could be a while. Red Dead is by far my favourite video game of all of the times. In particular, the interactions with fauna really took it to another level. Nothing beats the dread of hearing a cougar's call when you're trying to take one down with nothing but a knife. Oh, and chasing an injured bear around with a knife also makes for good times. Basically, Red Dead with more nuanced animal life please. That and a new Fire Pro are at the top of my gaming wishlist.
  16. Although I loved and still will play the odd game of Civ V, I'm with you. I friggin' love the Civilization series and even then couldn't get into the little bit of Beyond Earth I played. It felt lifeless, recycled, and came off like a cheap cash grab. Age of Wonders III doesn't look like something I'd enjoy. I almost always go defensive in my Civ games, trying to win via culture victory or space race. I'm a pacifist at heart. I'll say this though, Firaxis could learn a thing or two from that game's combat system. The combat system in Civ games is pretty archaic.
  17. Play with the simplified control settings. Even the more popular slider sets at Operation Sports have you using either meter pitching or classic (hold a button and release when the controller vibrates). The new simplified hitting mode is a bit harder in this year's iteration but even if you don't try to use the right analog for directional hitting, you'll still find success. I went through about a month of franchise mode worth of gameplay to both break out of the slump and learn how to hit more effectively. I still have trouble with breaking balls but I at least can recognize them better and show some restraint. I haven't played this the past month or so but will be picking it back up after I get through Arkham Knight.
  18. Prepare for your firing in "a few months."
  19. Those flying dino were dimorphodons and they totally ruled.
  20. Or Mil Muertes powerbombing him from the top of the building.
  21. Yeah, I've done the same thing. Just stick the pajama outfit on a dude with already high charisma and he's a baby maker supreme.
  22. Link ain't working, dog. Make sure to use the "link" button when posting urls. Edit: Hah, now the link is showing up as dead. Looks like it's a link to this, the Assassin's Creed Bundle which does look like a great deal if you don't have a PS4. "Only" the 500gb hard drive though.
  23. Making that match is like sentencing Waterson to her death. Also, while I'm at it, fuck yeah at Kawajiri being a ranked UFC fighter in the year 2015.
  24. Should've retired after the second round. Even when Jessica landed the odd clean shot, there was nothing behind it. "You need to open up." Oh, really? She was getting diced every time she did. How about telling your fighter to keep her guard up at all times. How many times did Penne get caught on exits because she was trying to portray calmness in a fight? I'm guessing nobody's going to be lining up for a title fight after that one. Can you imagine Rose vs. Joanna? Good lord...
  25. That was vicious. Her skill level on the feet is so, so much higher than any of the strawweights in the UFC division. Kowalkiewicz and Grasso might be interesting fights in the future but the other ladies in the UFC's SW div are no match.
