  1. Fuck, now I'm reading stories about how Trump's transition team had no plan at all (the Christie demotion was because nobody expected to win and thus nobody really thought they needed Christie for the job) and that Trump has no idea about hiring staff and other presidential duties he'll be taking over very soon. He's apparently going to rely on Obama for a lot of help with ramp-up. Seriously, what the everloving fuck? Is it too late for him to just say, "yeah, you know what? No thanks, I'm good."
  2. Weird childhood perception OR proof of the Mandela Effect? I remember being a kid and thinking that Oscar had thrown a hot dog on the ground (which Felix speared with his umbrella), not a cigar.
  3. With ROH, "exclusive" just means they can't work for anyone else that has TV, right? Scurll winning BOLA and then not coming back for a long time would suck.
  4. Thanks for that, man, and welcome. I'm lashing out blaming "rednecks" but I definitely understand the big picture. It's just that, when I see a headline in USA Today not 5 minutes ago that racist incidents are on the rise, their perpetrators emboldened by Trump, I can't help feeling he made it to the presidency by relying on the worst of us. But I absolutely understand that Hillary was an arrogant, shitty candidate who, it seems, most of us just held her nose and voted for. NBC news said that, of the voters who identified as not liking either candidate, they voted 3-1 for Trump. Blame Hillary for acting for 8 years like this nomination was her birthright and blame the DNC for being so blindly down for her. I also blame the rust belt folks who fell for Trump's bullshit. I'm sorry, I know it's a sad existence and you'll reach for any life preserver you can, but you need to take a little responsibility and figure out when you're being played. I don't see how these people could see Hillary as full of shit but not Trump. Dave Meltzer had a funny line when he said, I'm paraphrasing, "these people were sick of crooked politicians, so they voted for a crook who's not a politician." There's more blame to spread but I'm just fucking tired. I don't know what the solution for Middle America is. Manufacturing jobs aren't coming back. And I don't agree at all with my more extreme left wing bretheren who say, "fuck coal, just let that industry die." These are human beings who work in that industry. Are you going to put an entire class of people, whole towns, entire families, out of work overnight, cast into the dustbin? We're supposed to be better than righties, who think people on welfare should be left to just go ahead and die. Ugh, this whole fucking thing. Anyway, thanks for posting and leaving lurker status behind!
  5. jesus fucking christ that feed is awful
  6. Yeah, the whole "I'm going off to the dark haunted house to look for clues in the middle of the night!" "OK but be careful!" thing was dumb. I'm surprised the show fell back on such a tired old trope. Will we find out next week that the head of security is near retirement and just has to stay safe for one more week?
  7. Exactly. That's what's keeping me calm right now. It'll be bad but it won't be terrible. I mean, we have a dumber, less prepared version of George W. Bush and that guy was pretty awful to begin with. Trump is a carny who said what he need to say to rile up a bunch of marks. None of the outlandish shit he said is going to get done.
  8. It's not about the South or the North, though. From my experience, it's urban vs rural. I've lived in some rural northern areas where I saw the confederate flag flown. There are shitbag redneck motherfuckers everywhere. Note @MADCAP's mention of Pennsyltucky. Oh fuck Bernie and his dumbshit supporters. Bernie is the left wing Trump. A cult of personality who talked a lot of shit about a lot of big things he was going to do and had zero concrete plans on how to do any of it. Dude wasn't even a Democrat until this election. Fuck him and other lifelong politicians who cynically run as "ousiders." Motherfucker we have wikipedia. We can look you up and see that you've been in politics since 1980. Fuck right the fuck off. Exactly. One of the knocks on this election was that both were so unlikable that it was generically accepted that this would be four years and out regardless of the winner.
  9. The subtext behind "Make America Great Again" was always "make America white, male, and straight again." Trump is the end of a clear throughline that started with the Southern Strategy and went all the way through the Tea Party and your neighborhood Gadsden Flag shitheads. The Republican party is the party for scared white guys who shit their pants when a black guy was elected. It's funny how their general feeling that the country is going "the wrong way" started exactly when a black dude got into the White House. The world is increasingly looking less and less like these angry, scared hillbillies, so their place in it feels threatened. Appeal to their fearfulness and you'll get the votes. Tell them you'll roll back all those scary changes that made things a little less white and you'll get the votes. I think we all just underestimated their numbers or maybe their ability to read a ballot. As a middle aged white guy, I apologize to you all. Not all of us are garbage human beings but it appears a majority is.
  10. Here's hoping there's one more show this year. And that maybe it'll be DDT4?
  11. The latest incarnation of Chris Hero -- surly chubby dude who dresses like a wrestler and straight up brutalizes dudes -- is my favorite incarnation of Chris Hero to date.
  12. It's going to be fun to see all the shit Trump promised on his whirlwind tour of braggadocio just not happen at all. The wall, the Muslim ban, the jail term for Hillary, somehow forcing companies to bring business back to the U.S., all the way down the list. He'll obviously have an excuse for every shortcoming, and the ignorant, scared, angry rednecks who voted him in will eat up his excuses and will never show buyer's remorse, but I'll personally enjoy watching this unqualified loudmouth flounder under the realization that running the country is not the same as running a failing casino or real estate scam.
  13. Don't sweat it. Having a kid is awesome and will change you in many cool ways. If everyone decided to not have kids based on the perception that "whatever the latest horrible event is proves the world is too shitty to raise kids in," our species would have died out long ago.
  14. I like how he tries like hell to move those thin, wispy strands of pumpkin guts back into place while taking that questionable bump. Before you vote, remember this. When Trump took over WWE in storyline only, their real life stock tanked because Wall Street didn't know it was just an angle. Wall Street didn't even trust this guy to properly run a fake fighting company, much less the country.
  15. The desktop in the old, unused section of the offices showed the old Westworld logo, the same logo seen when William checked into the park, lending credence to the "separate timelines" theory. Here's a reddit thread about the two logos with screenshots. I'm not too excited if that turns out to be the case. It just feels like a gimmicky twist that too many people saw coming. I do enjoy how they've left the old offices "buried" under the new, like whatever disaster happened back then is something the Delos hastily tried to forget and bury. Also, this easter egg was down there:
  16. Gene Simmons is such a money-grubbing sleazebag, I wouldn't be surprised if ripping off customers for tips wasn't in the employee manual.
  17. Really good episode last night. It succeeded in making Dwight a sympathetic character far better than the comics ever did.
  18. The Ravens lose 4 in a row, win yesterday...and now they lead the division. Christ, the AFC North is going to be like the 2014 NFC South and the rest of the conference's fans will be pissed when the 7-8-1 Bengals clinch a playoff spot ahead of other 9-7 teams.
  19. I enjoyed last season and any season will be better than the ones where Brody overstayed his welcome and strained the credulity of the whole series (part of season 2 and all of season 3). Shit, a test pattern would be better than that.
  20. I wouldn't blame Banderas for that. It's a dumb idea and he absolutely misses the table, but you can tell Flanagan is the one controlling the bump; Ricky isn't literally "throwing" him at all. It's a work. A dumb, ill-conceived work, to be sure, but a work nonetheless.
  21. Exactly. As an 80s kid, watching WWE Network is mind blowing, just seeing all the guys who were considered "small" back then.
  22. I like Cobb a lot, but his conditioning is suspect -- he was sucking wind and noticeably slowing down in the Hero match. Yes, Hero has better cardio than Cobb. His work is decent but I feel like there's no "music between the notes," just one power spot after another. It feels more like a big move exhibition than a match. Just my opinion and I'm positive he'll get better. Finally finished night 1. There were points in the main event six man that I legitimately LOL'd at. If you don't like comedy wrestling, you'd probably be well served to turn off the show after Hero/Liger. And you're probably a horrible person. Oh and fuck ZSJ's horrible selling. Falling to a seated position and staring off into space with a blank expression on your face. Awesome.
