The Natural Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Great getting a UFC during the day UK time than early hours of the morning.
The Natural Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Man, Ming Shi head kick and follow up punches to Xiaocan Feng is one of the scariest KOs I've seen. Feng was unconscious for over 4 minutes and carried out on a stretcher.
The Natural Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 (edited) Another upset! Gabriella Fernandes with the RNC in R2. Wang was 6-0 and the largest betting favourite of the evening, coming in with astronomical odds above -1000. Edited November 23, 2024 by The Natural
jaedmc Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 I didn't realize card started at 2am for me. Almost slept in and missed this Figgy/Yan dream fight I've been manifesting. Just saw the 3rd round of Yan Xiaonan and it looked like a shut out 1
Elsalvajeloco Posted November 23, 2024 Author Posted November 23, 2024 Man, if there was any fight that reminds you of the good ole days of WEC, this would definitely be that fight. Stellar stuff. 2

jaedmc Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Was hoping for a couple more moments from Figgy, but this was a great fight. I was concerned coming in with Yan's mobility after another ACL surgery, but he looked like the same guy. Take down defense was solid. His mobility in the scrambles was great. Figgy is still a bad ass. Showed he still had power to end the fight in the fourth, just to keep the fifth round honest. Liked Yan's corner telling him it was a toss up in the fifth and to go out there and win. Spoken like a team sick of losing decisions.

A.M.B. Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Loving this card, obviously. Some crazy odds, if I wanted to do a fun little parlay Garry/Volkov/Kai would be a nice payday. I think Pantoja is the better fighter but his time is running out with the damage he’s taken, and his age in the fastest division. Could see, and hope to see Kai win by KO and freshen things up. Brice vs. Kron is such a joke of a fight. Also I see Evloev winning, whether the UFC is gonna give him the shot or not, I think he’s Ilia’s toughest fight.
jaedmc Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Lots of wacky stuff on this card as they stuff folks into these year end cards. Michael Chiesa on early prelims along with Chase Hooper vs. Clay Guida. I feel like I just watched Bryan Battle fight. Imagine putting Evloev and Aljo in the middle of the prelims and putting Kron Gracie on PPV after his last fight. I actually kind of like that we're getting Garry vs. Shavkat, 0's on the line, now - instead of after one of them fights Belal.
jaedmc Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 My goodness Chase Hooper really has grown into the hype that came with him at the start of his UFC career. I know it's an older Clay Guida, but Hooper looked smooth everywhere even on the feet. He'll probably still struggle against the higher end strikers in the division, but at least he's done the work to give himself a chance.
Elsalvajeloco Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 I don't think Chase Hooper was even alive when Clay Guida started fighting.
Elsalvajeloco Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 Bryce Mitchell probably (dare I say, likely) just elbow'd Kron Gracie out of the UFC. 1

Elsalvajeloco Posted December 14, 2024 Author Posted December 14, 2024 Surprised to see Covington as a healthy betting underdog to Buckley. I think it's closer to a pick 'em fight, but I wouldn't have thought folks would believe Covington to have slipped enough to be an underdog.

I'm generally surprised at some betting lines seemingly based on just a competitor's last outing. Sure, Colby had a terrible showing against Leon Edwards. But he also had a looooong lay off, Leon had seemingly leveled up fighting Usman. To me that's just not enough data to make him an underdog against Buckley, even if Buckley's current streak has been fun. I think Colby looks healthy and motivated to angle himself into a potential interim title fight - if Belal's leg infection is actually still serious. 1

jaedmc Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Marcos vs. Yanez is a high paced rock 'em sock 'em worth checking out.
jaedmc Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Well it was until the third round when Marcos decided to grapple more.
