  1. That's actually not a horrible idea in this case. The Cowboys were at one point practicing on wet grass to simulate week one against the Giants. And boy did that pay off wonderfully for them. So preparing a team for something that could affect them might be crazy enough to work. I don't truly believe it will but nice effort.
  2. That match was so good I really don't want to watch it back. It just felt so perfect in the moment that I want to hold onto that sheer excitement I had watching it for the first time. Yeah, it'd be neat to see again and maybe years later I'll consider it. But I was just a giddy motherfucking watching it and would prefer to have those memories be just from that one time. It sounds odd because it is but the only other match that had me this way was Danielson/Suzuki which was motherfucking HUGE to me. I was practically pacing around the room in excitement and felt like I could have ran through a wall. But yeah to your points the Danielson/ZSJ match far exceeded the hype and Mox sitting back going "Holy shit!" is the absolutely perfect reaction to that match. I think the only way it could get better is if they have the next match in New Japan and there's a submission finish. I believe that's what they're going for whenever it happens but being so used to trilogies ending I am glad with them going to a fourth one. I would be quite fine with ZSJ winning that via submission to not only even the series but also have it be a "passing of the torch" moment.
  3. Oh, there's no question about that at all. I don't think I appreciated him as much while he was with Washington but he's been on my radar since he moved to Philly. And @Dolfan in NYCmy friend is obsessed with fighter jets so I'm sure he's going to love the shit out of this. And yeah that was such a perfect part of the song for them to come in.
  4. Hey, @Matt DI wanted to bring to your attention that Colt and Cutler are not only teaming up but they're doing the bonus matches. While it's as close to a full match as can be in edited form I figured it's worth watching. And yes I timestamped it so you don't have to see the other BTE stuff if you don't want to. Also, if that strikes your fancy then they've been doing this for what feel like the past four or five episodes. My favorite so far was when Cutler and Johnny TV got in a dance-off to start their match.
  5. I had a soft spot for a while for Philly and remember rooting for them last postseason. But there's something about them that just feels untouchable right now. I know Houston's on a showdown with the Rangers but from what I saw I don't see the Astros making it.
  6. Well, since I too am in Maryland I can say I've been to three of those. I am not a fan of going to the Joppa Flea Market but would make an exception for this place. I like the insane selection they have but wasn't too impressed by the workers there. I get what you mean though about the Retro Replay store they opened but I like the workers there more and the store itself feels much more inviting. Plus while the selection is not like Gamerz they have a good variety of things that make me spend more time looking around. If you haven't checked them out I feel it's worth doing so at least once. A bit out of order but in my five years living in Greektown I found the Dundalk store to be pretty great for a Gamestop. I don't recall picking up too much but was impressed with what they have. I also remember there being a wrestling store by Squire's that of course opened up after we moved back to Harford. The prices are a bit high but it's at least nice to look at. Plus while I didn't want to pay $10 more than normal I did get an Eddie Kingston figure because I just wanted to have it without waiting to have it shipped. The move to Towson was a welcome one as there were some minor things we didn't care for there. For one the White Marsh spot was too cramped and the manager there was not quite the best. Since moving it has more room and the people there are very nice. I need to get my retro setup in the basement finished once and for all but am just too lazy. Once done then I'll likely be going back to them to get some stuff I need. Also, funny you mention Round 1 as that place is pretty legit indeed. We tend to stick with the rhythm games there and I'm a sucker for Music Diver. My wife though is all about DanceRush and she has a great community of friends that play it. She'll go at least once a week and I try to go when I can. I believe towards the back they have a few fighting games that are worth playing but I haven't tried them yet.
  7. Oh, no way they're going to salvage it. I was just meandering around a way to get past it as quickly as possible but Matt had the much better idea.
  8. Watching it back everything was going so well. Accept challenge, want the belt back, talk about the ring, sure. All that is great and the crowd was with them. Then he busts out the quarters and not only was it so not needed the crowd was taken out of it. Maybe they too were thinking about the last few days or if not maybe it just didn't make sense to them. It's frustrating, very maddening and honestly it's going to take some serious course correction to get things back on track. And yes, I know Juice has used the quarters before but they couldn't have saved that in a feud with literally anybody else? On its own at a different time it's a fine thing for a heel to do. But wrong person, wrong time and just wrong all around. EDIT: I'm trying to think how to try and salvage this. At first I was thinking MJF nukes Juice in a squash match and it takes him mostly off TV building up to Full Gear. But that just doesn't feel right to me to further use this for something wrestling-related. But it could maybe take the heat off and also be AEW showing an admission of guilt. So I dunno, maybe? Maybe not? The whole thing feels off either way and it's hard to make chicken salad out of this.
  9. Considering last time they hit the ALDS they cratered right after yeah it can be hard to believe. But for me it has nothing to do with the team and it's more worry about how John Angelos will fuck the team over. He might have agreed to staying for another 30 years kicking and screaming but I can already sense who's not staying for next year and am pretty annoyed about it. There's no need to rebuild when it took so long to just have the gradual progression they've had the past couple seasons. Keep the star players, try and hold onto the other great ones you can and if possible add somebody to get them over the hump. It feels pretty simple to me but with Angelos it's not. But I'm hoping with them still at Camden it'll give extra motivation and pressure to not do that. I felt like the only one around my family and friends that day who was positive from game 2 on. It was especially annoying hearing them all trash the O's when I'm thinking the fact they got this far when they were a joke not long ago is impressive. There's a lot of debbie downers around here and I would just wish they had the confidence in the O's like Phillies fans have for their team. It actually can make a huge difference.
  10. I'm not saying you're nuts or anything as I have no issue with you. But I checked all four parts of this and there was no burial whatsoever. Yeah, he said he grew apart but was quick to still say he supports them. So unless he did another interview fully bashing them then I'm not seeing it here.
  11. As a Greek of course I love the shit out of them. Though there were many a time when I was a young Niko where I had the canned crap and it was (and still is) fucking nasty. To this day if I see the canned stuff on a pizza or something I will either bitch about it, want to bitch about it or just pick them off and have the damn pizza. Depends on my mood. But once I remember trying Kalamata olives I was and still am hooked. Now anything is fair game be it pitted, stuffed or as is. Which reminds me I need to go to the market as the local one has a some pretty damn fine ones I like to get on payday. And of course olive oil is divine. I put that on damn near anything that makes sense for me to do so. As for lamb on pizza I tried ground lamb one time though forgot from where. But that was absolutely outstanding. I would think you can get away in a pinch with cut up gyro meat as that should work well with your supreme pizzas. Though the frozen Kronos brand is not quite my favorite. My dream would be to find a place that did real gyro meat and it also was a pizza place. It might be more pricey compared to Kronos but damn would it be oh so worth it.
  12. And on top of that they announced they'll be staying in Camden Yards for another 30 years which is a HUGE sigh of relief. I'm sure Angelos will find ways to fuck them but at least he got this one right. This whole thing is incredibly surreal. Once they first took over first over Tampa I had this feeling of "What if?" And seeing it made official last night sure brought the dust in the room. I'm still maintaining a "making sure I don't forget there's other killer teams looking to win it all" mindset but for now this feels so, so fucking good.
  13. Two big things stuck out during the contract signing from Page. One feels obvious but his description about the dark cloud sure felt a lot like he was talking about somebody particular. While it might be a big ol' pile of nothing it was too hard for me not to notice. I also really loved how he talked about hopefully the next generation won't have to talk about how some get opportunities and the other doesn't. He says things more on social than TV but progressive Adam Page is somebody I just fucking love. Anyway, the show was fun and felt like a fun reset after Grand Slam with a fun Colorado crowd to boot. Yeah, if you want to say it lacked whatever I won't argue but I had fun watching it. I do feel bad for Cole though I guess I've been conditioned to think "What if he said all that to attack MJF?" Then he rolled out and I realized it was real. That sucks. Thought on the brightside it did show face MJF on his own works quite well and even without Cole they still have a great thing going.
  14. I only wanted to highlight this part because I personally never saw Clone Wars or Rebels. It just never was something on my radar no matter how much I'd hear about it. But this show has done the opposite in that I not only care about the characters but at the least would like to get a synopsis of both shows. But I agree it's a shame Baylan isn't coming back because RIP Ray. But holy bats he crushes it in damn near every scene he's in.
  15. I remember it being a very short time ago seeing Blue Jays smash the O's more often than not. Every time I would see the Jays on the schedule I would think "Ah, fuck." Sometimes there's just a weird reversal of fortune but I still try to keep this mind when they faced each other this season. Besides, considering Angelos wants to fuck things over next season could lead to a sharp decline again. It's gotten to the point that his name has reached Voldemort status unless you want to talk with like-minded people about him for a half hour or so. In the past two months that's happened about five times. But anyway if he has his way then I sense the Jays will be back to putting on an ass-whoopin' next season.
  16. This can't be stated enough. I was too young to catch Brooks play and this was before Cal was more famous. But first time seeing Brooks on TV he had this sweet grandpa vibe that I immediately loved. I know my brother in law was all about their '83 World Series win so I can only imagine how sad he is that Brooks passed. But yeah it's a pretty sad day around here. And to tie this into this season it's been pretty wild seeing the Orioles of all teams actually look pretty damn good going into the playoffs. I'm hoping they don't choke but I'm being as realistic as possible. Though with Brooks passing you know there's gonna be tons of extra motivation so we'll see how it goes.
  17. So I played it a few times and they just bounce into everything with random hit points. So it's basically an MMA match which more than works for me. Only thing is knockout shots like Malakai's kick don't knock them out but stun them into wherever so it's not perfect. I just read four hits to the door can lead you to leave the octagon but had no interest in doing that yet. I'll likely try that next time I play. I will say this is my favorite mod by far and kind of wish there were more submission type wrestlers in this to have more fun.
  18. Oh, thank fuck. I got the invite last week and got into Bluesky (need to see about what invites I have to give) But while it beats the tar out of Twitter I've been thinking "It's nice, but now what?" So thank goodness for this.
  19. Oh, yeah, I've seen that before. But it's fucking wild that somebody went all "Hey, let's find a way to use this for an actual match!" and made it work.
  20. I typically don't discuss stuff like this to play it safe. But the PC version is getting pretty fucking wild.
  21. Quick search shows it is Mediterranean so that should work.
  22. Being Greek I quickly realized why the meze style is so popular over there. You get to try a bunch of awesome food and you're not committed to just one entree or sandwich. When I went five years ago I got an entree and was the odd man out but it meant more of the meze for the rest of the crew (which with the Ouzo flowing meant it still got demolished in no time anyway) Here it's the reverse though I feel like getting a sampler next time. And yes the more calamari the better. Though I can quickly detect the frozen stuff so if it says hand breaded at the restaurant then I'll get that as often as I can. I love the food channel even though we haven't seen Tay eat pizza in almost a year. I just made a slight title change but can always revert if needed.
  23. As a backup would Discord suffice? I am down with creating one and making sure things don't get out of hand. I honestly haven't heard of most of the bands y'all are talking about but man do I love the discussion! For all the talk about growing up going to many shows I was a relatively sheltered kid/teen for better or worse. So my first real concert wasn't until I was 17 for Metallica's Summer Sanitarium Tour. I didn't go to too many for a long time but when I moved to Baltimore nine years ago I started to go to some more shows. The bands didn't matter as it was much more about good times with friends though I'll need to think back on some of the standouts from my five years in the city. Now that I've been back in Harford County for almost four years I still always find myself up for a good show. I've been to a few this year but my favorite was Rotting Christ and the bands before it. Greek dudes coming from Athens to a random spot in Philly? Sign me up! As for records I just realized the player's in my office and I can't remember the last time I played it. It's even unplugged yet I have a crate full almost bursting at the seams. I really need to start listening again but Apple Music has been scratching that itch the past year or so. Though I did pick up some weird shit while in Athens during the summer so it's high time I get to listening.
  24. Damnit, I wasn't paying attention and thought this was this week's thread. @RIPPA might need to consider closing this.
  25. I'm a diehard AEW fan but just have to wonder why the arena was so empty tonight. I appreciate their efforts to fill up the main side but there were a lot of blacked out sections and they were largely quiet. And I don't think I need to clarify but this isn't me being a troll or whatever. I'm just a bit concerned and aside from it being a work/school night wonder why.
