    ISTR the Roman Gladiator match was basically a Texas Death Match combined with Bullrope/chain match rules, i.e. you fought until one guy couldn't continue, then you had to drag him to all four corners to finally win.

Best major promotion match: Rock vs HHH, Summerslam 1998. Worst match: Shane Douglas vs Tully Blanchard, AKA The Nightmare on Swanson Street.

    Black was in the territory around the same time (give or take a month) but wasn't involved with the angle at all. I'll always remember their SMW run just for the one Australian guy at the ECW Con that summer who couldn't pronounce the name right and kept calling him "Unabum."

    Its quintessential perfection lies in how wonderfully Flair frames his persona. He's a pretty boy heel and patriotic American baby face all at once. He's unctuous and snarky to the point where Schiavone is losing his shit. He loves the ladies and hates cheap imitations. Don't try to wrap him up before he's good and ready and never, EVER try to follow his act.

    I like Xanadu for the kitsch value. Same w the Sgt Pepper movie.And ELO. Oh, the soundtrack (and accompanying set-pieces) was easily the best part of that.
