  1. When this show first aired I felt like I was the only person watching it.
  2. It's not even about paying the players, Michigan State gave Mark Dantonio $4.3 million right before he "retired" then gave Mel Tucker $2.4 million to help buy him out of his Colorado contract, now Michigan State is asking faculty to work in the Dining Halls due to staff shortages. They had $7 million to give to football coaches but somehow can't find the money to pay Dining Hall workers a few more bucks an hour, sure the Athletic Department money is separate but it's insane that a public university flushes money down the toilet on glorified gym teachers but can't pay it's facilities workers a decent wage.
  3. It's amazing how these publicly funded institutions of higher learning throw money away.
  4. I did a TCM watch last weekend! I think what I watched is still on the app or on-demand. The Outsiders: The Complete Novel - The extra scenes Coppola added and the scenes he cut make the movie better, but why did he ax his fathers amazing score for lame recreated 60's sorta guitar rock? The change of music makes the rumble scene almost comical, had he kept the score or replaced it with more legit music from that era it could have been better than the original. Over The Edge - I forgot how good this movie is! The first 2/3rds is the most realistic portrayal of suburban life for 7th to 9th graders I can remember seeing in film or tv. I moved from the city to the suburbs halfway through 8th grade and it always seemed to me that I moved into New Granada, now it would have been 10ish years after the movie was filmed but the same type of shit was going down. That last 1/3rd is off the rails but so much fun to watch due to it becoming a borderline horror movie. To Live and Die in LA - This flick sometimes is forgotten when it comes to 80's action movies since it didn't get played over and over and over on HBO or Showtime, damn it's good and even with a few 80's action movie cliches it still holds up. Also, Dean Stockwell has a small part and as usual kills it!
  5. Ummm, there's a franchise QB playing at Heinz Field on Saturday! Kenny Pickett is the real deal and is going to be at minimum a really good NFL QB, plus he's already playing in a NFL style offense. The Rooney's made a massive mistake in 1983 when they passed on the last Pitt QB who was a first rounder, hopefully they don't make the same mistake this year.
  6. Even if it was the old 15 minute OT, neither team would have scored.
  7. My lord is Mason Rudolph bad.
  8. Road House is a classic purely due to Patrick Swayze, put anyone else in the Dalton spot and it would have been lost in the mix of 80's action movies. Swayze had an "It Factor" that movies like Road House, Point Break and even Ghost were able to perfectly harness, also those movies were also products of their time which can't really be recreated in the 2020's.
  9. That’s amazing!
  10. The last time To Live & Die in LA was on it was blacked out on YouTubeTV and not available on the app, sadly that happens with some movies since YouTubeTV is considered streaming.
  11. My god are these announcers bad, bring back Booger! That field goal attempt was flat out dumb and the Bears lining up offsides so many times hurt them more than anything else.
  12. You can’t do that kind of stuff towards the other teams bench.
  13. McLaughlin showed up!
  14. Disney wouldn’t be interested in buying them, the Marvel talk is just something they throw out with the hope to impress investors.
  15. I want to see a 4-2 game, just so I can brag about a game in Jr. High we won 4-2, I was a part of all three scores! A teammate and I tackled a running back in the end zone for the first safety, I was called for a hold in our end zone after a botched handoff(kept them from scoring a TD), then I blocked a punt that rolled out of the end zone.
  16. Up to the mid-80’s they had MLB, NBA, NHL, College Football, College Basketball, and I think golf. ESPN and Turner chipped away at those properties until all they had left was tennis and boxing.
  17. The Steelers bounced his ass after missing a chip shot against the Patriots.
  18. The Steelers get the W with the always fun 15-10 final score, the Brownies and Bungles are showing their true colors today.
  19. The All Confederate Conference refs makes me wish Pitt could go back to being an Independent, also Pat Narduzzi needs to go.
  20. That's why bowls will most likely host in the expanded playoff, or they try home games for a season but then revert to bowls after Bama or Oklahoma have to go play in Eugene or East Lansing.
  21. Do you think southern schools would be down with traveling to cold weather northern cities in December or January?
  22. He has every right to be furious, that was an extremely dumb and disrespectful question. Also the Pittsburgh sports media is total trash, besides this bullshit the day after Pitt's biggest home win in years and Kenny Pickett becoming a legit Heisman candidate, the lead column in the Sunday Post-Gazette was Ron Cook talking about why he voted from Jason White over Larry Fitzgerald for the Heisman.
  23. The All Confederate Conference refs doing everything they can to get Clemson back in the game, two phantom holding calls and a no call on a helmet to helmet.
  24. Both Wahoo and Ladd, wrestled in the off-season but only wrestled full time after they retired from football, they didn’t make the switch for “better” pay. Wahoo played in the AFL for 8 seasons and while colorful was an average player, Ladd was a star who played 7 seasons but had knee injuries that cut his football career short, if he didn’t have the knee injuries he would have played a few more seasons. Up until the mid-70’s almost all NFL players had off season jobs, superstars usually had some sort of corporate sales job where they played golf and went to dinners.
  25. You cant get more late 1978 than that episode of Dinah!
