Aside from the whole murder thing, HOLY SHIT. Ray Lewis calling someone out for self-aggrandizing actions is like Hitler telling you you're genociding too hard.. And I'm a Ravens fan. Trust me, many of us were tired of Lewis' bullshit by the end.

Is there any kind of time limitation to the contracts guys signed? I know they're for "seven seasons" (did I get the number of seasons right?) but there's no way they could lock these guys down indefinitely if there's, for example, a two or three year delay between seasons, right?

Walter Hill is great. The Warriors is one of my absolute favorites. In my last re-viewing of it, I started to think it was just a trashy, simplistic cartoon. But when they get off the subway at Coney and you can feel the regret and sense of pointlessness when one of them says, "this is what we fought all night to get back to?," it does the impossible and elevates everything that came before to something more. I tried to watch 48 Hours again a little while ago and it's very much of its time -- in a bad way. We're supposed to cheer for Nolte but he's so awful by 2016 standards. I guess they were aiming for Archie Bunker but they landed somewhere in "awful racist piece of shit" territory instead.

I did. It felt very by the numbers and dull to me, nothing too special about it, but it's probably because Prometheus was such a disappointment and grand-scale epic proportions fuckup that it's made me biased to any further fruit that may spring from its soil. I'll wait and see how the reviews are and what the feedback here is. I actually do like that they might be making up for past mistakes by actually putting "Alien" in the title and an actual xenomorph in the film. But still....Prometheus. Oh hey, it does have the Mexican cop from The Bridge and the second most annoying son from Empire, so there's that.

So Covenant is a sequel to Prometheus? The film ruined by studio meddling and Scott and LIndelof being morons to the point where most references to Alien and its very identity as a prequel were removed? Yeah, I'll pass. I still need to watch Derelict. It's been on my hard drive forever.

Teddy Hart interviews are always a hard pass for me. Equal parts maddening and depressing. Depressing in a way that listening to street people or conspiracy theorists is depressing. The dude is a delusional, never-was, attention whore who never meant shit to wrestling. Giving him airtime just feeds his fantasy that he's somebody.

The whole blackmail thing wasn't even necessary. What if Shane came back, demanded a spot managing Raw, and Vince said he could have it if he won a match? See how much simpler that is and how much better it works? It took 28 writers and Vince McMahon himself to actually create a much more convoluted story, one that made no sense at all.

Holy shit, Identity. I've never seen another film where the plot twist killed off any desire to care about the movie like that one did. "Oh, none of this is real and it's all taking place in some guy's head? Why should I give two shits?"
